"Greetings, Father!"
In Brunoâs study, Crown Prince Garrett knelt on one knee, greeting his father.
The Prince possessed the Oduin Royal Familyâs characteristic golden-brown hair and violet eyes. However, due to his Cultivation of a special Fighting Qi Secret Scripture, his hair was streaked with the same violet as his pupils.
Garrett was tall and powerfully built. Clad in a suit of golden Armor, he projected an overwhelming sense of pressure.
"Haha, rise, my son."
Bruno walked forward with a smile and helped the kneeling Garrett to his feet.
The lavishly dressed King appeared almost petite next to his son, but Bruno felt no pressure at all. His eyes were filled with nothing but fatherly affection and approval.
âYes, the outside world may criticize my lack of Power, lamenting that Iâll likely be stuck at the silver level for life.â
âBut my son makes up for my own shortcomings in strength.â
Bruno had always considered Garrett his greatest pride!
"Itâs been over three years since weâve seen each other, hasnât it, son?"
Bruno took Garrettâs arm and led him to a nearby sofa. After they sat, he asked, "How is life on the border? Are you well?"
Garrett offered a slight smile, but it was clear he was not a man given to easy laughter.
"Everything is fine on my end. You neednât worry, Father."
He continued, "However, the Tricia Kingdom has been far from peaceful lately. A new organization called the âHoly Stormâ has appeared and rapidly conquered an area nearly the size of a Duchy. Tamriel seems powerless to resist them."
"This is excellent news!"
The smile never left Brunoâs face. Such great turmoil in the Tricia Kingdom was an opportunity for Oduin.
"However, the founding celebration is almost upon us. We should enjoy the festivities first. As for any action against the Tricia Kingdom, we can discuss it with the Dukes and Marquis Lurans after the celebration."
The three great Dukes, plus the Marquis of Wushan Territoryâthese were the highest-ranking nobles of Oduin.
Garrett hesitated. âAccording to my personality, this is something we should discuss and decide on first. How can a celebration be more important than defeating our enemies?â
However, since his father had already made a decision, he could only obey.
âItâs only a matter of a few days, anyway. The wait will pass quickly.â
"I heard Marquis Lurans has recovered and even broken through to become a Silver Moon Knight?"
Garrett said, "I have long heard of the valor and Power of the former Thunderbolt Marquis. It seems Iâll finally have a chance to witness it for myself."
Bruno knew his son well. Exceptionally gifted, Garrett loved to spar with other powerful experts.
"That will depend on whether Lurans gives you the chance to challenge him."
Bruno added with a smile, "However, I think you could challenge his grandsonâyour future brother-in-law, Roning Wushan."
âBrother-in-law?â
Garrett was unaware of this. "You mean for Blanche?"
Bruno nodded. The time had come when he could finally reveal the marriage alliance.
"During the celebration, I will announce the betrothal of your sister, Blanche, to Ronin."
Garrett nodded.
"Over the years, the rumors about Blanche have had a negative impact on you and the Royal Family. For her to be married off now is a good thing for everyone."
"The Wushan Clan is among the Kingdomâs top nobility, yet they have never been joined with the Royal Family by marriage. Marrying Blanche into the Wushan Clan is an excellent choice."
He wasnât interested in what kind of person Ronin was. As long as Blanche could be married off without the Royal Family losing face, it was fine.
It was just that Brunoâs last words confused him.
"Father, you want me to challenge Ronin? Luransâs grandson should only be around twenty years old. Is someone of that age worthy of being my opponent?"
Bruno laughed heartily. "Ronin is anything but simple!"
He turned and sat on the sofa. "Broel saw it with his own eyes. Ronin used a Secret Skill to kill Broken-armed Ossen, who had become a Silver Moon Knight through unnatural means. Broel suspects that your future brother-in-law, who isnât even twenty, possesses the power of a late-stage Meteor Level, or perhaps even Silver Moon Level!"
Garrettâs brows knitted, his expression hardening. "A Silver Moon Level under twenty? Are you certain?"
Bruno nodded. "You know Broel. His judgment is rarely mistaken."
Garrettâs frown deepened.
"The Lord of Wushan Territory, Lurans, is a Silver Moon Knight of extraordinary combat strength. And his grandson actually possesses such power at the age of nineteen."
He looked at Bruno. "If we donât count the strength of their followers and only consider the combat power of the family itself, the Wushan Clan ranks among the very top."
Even within the Oduin Clan, Garrett was the only one to have reached Meteor Level. If one also counted Duke Ference, who now went by Gregor, then there were two.
But compared to a nineteen-year-old Silver Moon Knight, they were far inferior.
"This Ronin..."
Garrettâs heart grew heavy. Although the young man was his future brother-in-law, his potential was unsettling.
Bruno seemed to know what his son was thinking.
"The current situation isnât good. Screaming Island, Moonlight Valley, the Villa Duchy, and even your uncle, Ferenceâtheyâve all grown too close. We need a powerful Wushan Territory."
Garrettâs eyes narrowed, a faint, hostile aura rising from him. "All these restless people should be suppressed!"
But even as he said it, he knew the time was not yet right.
With the Tricia Kingdom in chaos, it was the perfect time for Oduin to take advantage of the weakness.
If they were to tear up the armistice agreement, a full-scale war would erupt across the Orland Continent.
The Royal Family couldnât fight everyone at once. They needed the strength of all the major powers, including the Villa Duchy and the Ferrensburg Duchy.
In the future, after unifying the continent like the first Emperor Orland, if these groups reined themselves in, then all would be well. If they continued to collude with ill intent, it wouldnât be too late to suppress them then.
Although Ronin was exceptional, he wouldnât be able to cause any significant impact in the short term.
Even if Ronin managed to advance to the Proud Sun level before he did, Garrett was confident he could handle him.
With the combined might of all the Royal Familyâs experts, a single Proud Sun realm fighter could not defy the heavens.
With only the two of them, father and son, in the study, they could speak without reservation.
Bruno said, "Iâm asking you to test Ronin to see just what level his strength has reached. That way, weâll have a better understanding of where we stand."
Garrett thought for a moment. "I understand. Once he arrives in Golden Feather City, I will find him privately and test him. Honestly, to have such strength at nineteen... it sounds unbelievable!"
"In Wubei Territory, there is a Magic Potion that can enhance a Knightâs strength."
Bruno voiced his speculation, "Perhaps Roninâs natural talent was already extraordinary, and with the help of this Magic Potion, he was able to grow so quickly."
"Oh? Such a Magic Potion actually exists?"
Garrettâs eyes lit up.
Power had been the Crown Princeâs lifelong pursuit.
He had tried all sorts of Magic Potions over the years, but to be honest, the effects had been minimal.
âIf Roninâs increase in strength came from a Magic Potion, then that potion could surely help me advance as well.â
"In that case, I have even more reason to have a good talk with him."
