Chapter 736: All Eyes on the Stars
Upon witnessing the unwavering determination in the eyes of the three young Gods, Vihaan couldnât help but feel a twinge of annoyance.
"I didnât agree to this alliance to hunt demons," he states in a neutral tone, not masking his disapproval.
"They are your enemies too!" Kael asserts forcefully.
Joel, who usually disagrees with the young Light God, finds himself aligned with him this time. "You want to gain resources so your father doesnât see you as a worthless prince... but if the Seven Sins obstruct our path, whatâs the harm in crushing them together?"
Vihaan bristles at being referred to as a useless prince, but given that heâs currently less favored by his father compared to his elder siblings, this alliance indeed serves to enhance his standing among his kind.
As he contemplates, his right-hand, Annya, conjures a thin yet potent sonic barrier around them.
"My prince..." she speaks respectfully. "I understand that demons are not our primary enemy at the moment, but this presents an excellent opportunity."
Vihaan attempts to caress Annyaâs beautiful face, but she subtly evades his touch while maintaining a friendly smile.
He clearly desires more than friendship with her, but she is as stubborn as she is useful, and he has never pushed for such a relationship, not wishing to lose his most loyal servant.
"Iâm listening," he says, ceasing his attempt to touch her face.
"If we aid them in dealing with the Seven Sins, we could ask for far more than what was initially agreed upon," Annya explains.
"That makes sense," Vihaan concedes. "But what if things go awry and my father blames me?"
"What could possibly go wrong?" Aanya inquires. "We have a formidable army, an army of angels, and the three most powerful gods of the new generation on our side."
Vihaan understands the immense power of the Young Sacred Trinity, and of course, he trusts in his own skills. Yet, he canât shake off the awe he felt hearing tales about the legendary seven deadly sins and their unique hosts.
"Iâm not sure..." he admits candidly. "Something inside me warns that we might be biting off more than we can chew..."
Aanya is an ambitious woman, not content with being the mage of a failed prince. She persists in her efforts to sway Vihaan.
"We can do this, my prince," she asserts confidently. "Besides... your brothers only have grand victories because they are bold enough to take on great challenges."
Mentioning Vihaanâs brothers, Annya not only ignites his competitive spirit but also stirs a deep-seated fear of losing her respect, or worse, her loyalty to one of his elder siblings.
"Alright, letâs do it," he decides, and she quickly smiles before dissolving the sound barrier.
The three Gods look at the dragon prince with curious expressions, and Kael promptly questions him. "So, youâre with us?"
"Iâll want five now," Vihaan declares.
"Five of the Seven Stars?" Joel exclaims in disapproval. "Absolutely not."
Before Vihaan can retort, Coraline interjects. "We can give you four if you help us annihilate all seven sins."
"Then we will take possession of the Blue Star," Anny quickly adds.
Kael and Joel shoot furious glances at the beautiful wingless Dragon, but Coraline smiles at her, a smile as sardonic and full of veiled threats as possible.
Vihaan quickly steps in front of his beloved mage, confronting the young Gods head-on. "Itâs either that or you give us five stars."
Joel and Kael look towards Coraline. "We can manage without them. Yes, their demand is ridiculous!"
Coraline, however, harbors more doubts than confidence. "We donât know who erected such a great barrier... itâs better to stick with them than to ask our parents for help, right?"
The two young Gods donât need much time to decide; in fact, they trust Coralineâs judgment.
After nodding at her, she turns her attention back to the Shé Dragons. "The Blue Star and Blood Star are ours; the rest can go to your kind."
Vihaan canât help but smile, confident that soon he will have five of the Seven Stars for his people, which could surely ensure victory against the winged Dragons.
"So... where do we start?" he inquires.
Coraline wears a contemplative expression. "If we canât start at the Blue Star..."
"The Brown Star always seemed like a better start to me," Kael remarks. "So many weak and defenseless fox girls, you know."
"No," Coraline shakes her head. "My mother told me the current Fox Queen has a strong alliance with the Vampire Emperor; they would support each other too quickly, giving time for the other Stars to unite as well."
"What about the Golden Star?" Joel asks.
"Thereâs hardly anyone on that inhospitable planet," Aanya quickly comments. "With few resources and no slaves, it wouldnât really be beneficial for a start."
The group ponders for a few more seconds, then Coralineâs eyes again glimmer with that sinister deep blue shade.
"Itâs going to be the Shadow Star," she declares. "Itâs the richest Star after the Blood Star, and the Dark Elves are a major threat to the vampiresâ leadership, so I bet the emperor wonât want to assist them too quickly."
"So," Joel looks at Vihaan. "Do Dark Elves make good slaves?"
"They will serve." The Dragon prince nods.
"Then we have a plan once again." Kael celebrates, eager to confront the seven sins.
"It seems so..." Coraline still maintains her mysterious and thoughtful air, but she canât hide her eagerness to discover whatâs happening on the Blue Star, like everyone else.
As Titus returns to confirm the current state of the barrier on the Blue Star, Vihaan and the Young Sacred Trinity discuss how to initiate a joint invasion of the Shadow Star before dominating all the Seven Stars.
And although they trust in the discretion and loyalty of all the servants in the room, itâs precisely through the eyes of one of the angels, unknowingly acting as a spy, that the secret allianceâs plan is observed.
Far from the angelical fortress, within the castle of Alexa, she and her faithful servant Ligea see and hear the entire plan of the secret alliance.
"It seems these ambitious fools wonât live long enough to surpass their parents..." Ligea comments disapprovingly.
Alexa also agrees that attacking the Seven Stars is madness. Indeed, any of the seven planets could be taken by an army of angels alone, but together, they have the power to confront a superior race head-on.
Yet, Alexaâs curiosity is more piqued about whatâs happening on the Blue Star and whether the Young Sacred Trinity will discover Lucien before he becomes powerful enough to confront them.
"How did he create the barrier?" she wonders.
Ligea wears a puzzled expression. "Why are you so sure that heâs responsible for the barrier?"
"It seems like his thing," Alexa responds swiftly.
"A barrier capable of protecting a whole planet for days?" Ligea is still dubious.
"A miracle indeed," Alexa replies immediately again. "Ever since I faced him, I understood why heâs so special to the Seven Sins... he makes the impossible happen. Iâm sure the barrier is connected to him, directly or indirectly."
Ligea sees admiration shining in Alexaâs eyes; she understands her young master more than anyone and knows she admires and respects Lucien increasingly, despite their separation.
"Whatever he did, we need Genevieve to bring us news soon. We need to know whatâs happening," Ligea remarks, her tone laced with concern.
"Havenât we managed to send a message to her yet?" Alexa inquires.
Ligea shakes her head. "No magic or portal can penetrate the barrier."
"Hmm..." Alexa smiles, convinced that the barrierâs incredible nature is due to Lucien. "More than information from the Blue Star, we need to warn him about those foolsâ plans."
"Why would that be so crucial for him now?" Ligea asks.
"If heâs protecting the Blue Star, heâll want to protect the other Stars as well," Alexa comments, her tone brimming with excitement.
"Oh..." Ligea starts to grasp the kind of thought process Alexa is undergoing. "So, you think the Demons are planning to absorb the Seven Stars into their reign?"
Alexa shakes her head, her eyes sparkling. "Not the Demons... he made it clear he follows no one, and the Seven Sins support him above all else..."
"So, he could become the leader of the Seven Stars?" Ligea canât help but speculate.
"If I were to place a bet..." Alexa muses, then her smile becomes even brighter.
"Actually..." Ligea canât help but smile, catching Alexaâs excitement. "Youâre already betting on it, young Lady."
