Chapter 751: Not a Lovely Stepmother
When Lucien sees the beautiful face of the mysterious woman, he is certain that she is Ameliaās mother, Cecilia.
Like her, the mothers of his other sisters almost never visited them at Michaelās fortress because he was against such things.
But on the rare occasions when they went there to see their daughters, usually on their birthdays, Lucien saw them.
It has been more than four years since the last time he saw Ameliaās mother, but they look very much alike, and itās evident that Amelia inherited her motherās beauty.
Even the quick smile that Cecilia gives Lucien reminds him of Amelia, and he almost mentions that she and the others are almost there.
But Cecilia quickly turns to Artem, leaving Lucien confused. He doesnāt understand many things yet, and before he can ask any questions, she speaks to the elf.
"You foolish little man!" Cecilia insults Artem in front of everyone. "What do you think you are doing?!"
"Shut up, you human whore!" He quickly retorts. "I donāt owe an explanation to a traitor."
"Traitor??" She asks in an annoyed tone, and her powerful aura spreads, shocking Lust.
Lust checks Ceciliaās body again with her magic senses and quickly reports to Lucien mentally. "She is at the peak of the Immortal Realm!"
"How is that possible??" Lucien is shocked to hear that, as Michael was always more powerful than his wives, and he never surpassed the Sky Realm.
"I have no idea..." Lust continues to analyze Ceciliaās body and quickly reports to Lucien. "But she is even stronger than she appears, perhaps on the level of Nea."
As Lucien looks at Ceciliaās back, he realizes he never really knew anything about her; he and his sisters never talked about their mothers in the past because such a subject was too painful.
And now, having encountered Ameliaās mother in such a strange situation, he is very curious about the beautiful and mysterious woman with white hair.
Cecilia, on the other hand, doesnāt give another look to Lucien and listens to Artemās insults with a disappointed expression.
"A traitor?" He asks sarcastically. "I may not have belonged to this place until recently, but from what Iāve seen so far, itās your Queen who betrays her own people by oppressing innocents to satisfy her personal needs."šÆš»š®šš¬š®ššš¤ššš”.ššš¶
"YOURS!!!--" Artem becomes more furious than ever upon hearing insults to his Queen, and again resorts to a surprise attack to harm his victims.
In a quick movement, he pulls his bow and tries to squeeze out a residue of energy to shoot an arrow at Cecilia.
Since he has already pushed his body well beyond its limits using potions, his movements are slow and clumsy, which can be easily avoided by the powerful Cecilia.
But even she fails to notice when Lucien passes by her in an extremely rapid dash and reaches Artem before he can pull the magical string of his bow.
*WHOOSH*
Lucien loses the last drop of patience and grabs the poor elf by the neck, almost breaking it in half, which he only refrains from doing immediately because he wants to see the remorse in Artemās eyes before taking his life.
But upon hearing the sound of the elfās muscles being torn, Cecilia quickly exclaims, "Donāt kill him yet!"
Artem is experiencing more pain than he has ever felt, but he still wants to maintain whatever respect remains for him, even if this is the moment of his death.
Then the bold elf casts a reproachful look at Cecilia as he struggles to free himself from Lucienās powerful grip.
Lucien also gives Cecilia a reproachful yet inquisitive look.
And before he can ask her why she wants to keep Artem alive, she explains. "Give him one more chance, just one last chance."
Lucien is very confused about Ceciliaās involvement in the Dark Elvesā conflict, so he releases Artem, but does so slowly to extend the poor elfās suffering.
"Ha... argh..." Artem falls to the ground gasping, struggling to catch his breath and use his internal energies to heal the wounds on his neck.
But even in such a state, he points at Cecilia and Lucien with hatred in his eyes. "I knew this Demon was with you, you damned traitors!!"
Lucien regrets not having killed Artem earlier and casts another reproachful and questioning look at Cecilia.
And again, she speaks before he can. "This man is so foolish because he blindly believes in the woman he loves, not unlike you, I believe."
Lucien doesnāt care about Artemās motives, but he is upset to be called a fool by Cecilia when they donāt really know each other.
He also realizes that she is very similar to Amelia, not just physically, but also in personality, a bold character that doesnāt hesitate to criticize others.
"Oh, do you want to say something?" She can see the frustration in Lucienās eyes and smiles provocatively.
"..." Lucien canāt remember the last time a woman left him speechless for the same reasons as Cecilia.
He thinks of saying something, but Artem again interrupts him with his manipulative schemes.
"Look at how this traitor acts so familiarly with the Demon!" the elf shouts to his troops. "Isnāt it clear to everyone that-"
Before Artem can further influence the troops, Cecilia shocks everyone with her next words.
"He is the only son of your Human King," she speaks in a loud tone for all to hear, leaving both Artem and Lucien equally surprised.
"King? Michael???" Lucien exclaims to Cecilia, as that would be the best outcome for him in the Shadow Star, to become their King himself, not his worthless father, of course.
"His son? A Demon???" Artem also questions Cecilia.
Not just them, but all the elves there are shocked to hear such a declaration.
Lucien especially notices Ludmilaās reaction, who steps back and casts a worried and even slightly hostile look at him.
Cecilia casts a quick curious glance at Lucien before turning her attention back to Artem and the green-clad elves. "Yes, he is Michaelās son, or did you think your Queen would accept a mere human as King if he couldnāt offer her something in return?"
"This canāt be possible..." Artem quickly tries to deny it, but he is smart enough to see how some things now make sense. "So... an alliance with Demons?"
Cecilia shakes her head and smiles. "No, this isnāt an alliance with Demons, but something similar... I guess."
"Damn..." Artem finally lowers his hostile posture when his mind is in disarray. He simply sits on the ground to recover.
As all the elves try to process such shocking information, Cecilia turns her attention to Lucien.
"Damn," he finally speaks his first word to her out loud. "King? Him?"
Cecilia again shakes her head with that expression both provocative and disappointed. "Are you jealous?"
Lucien feels sick just imagining being jealous of his father. "I always wondered why you and the others accepted his leadership... now he comes to this world and just becomes the Dark Elf King? Iām just confused."
"King Consort," Cecilia corrects and points to Artem and the elves under his leadership. "And only of the green elves."
Lucien looks at those elves with a look of pity. "It wonāt matter for much longer..."
Cecilia smiles even more provocatively. "Oh? Donāt tell me youāre going to steal your own fatherās wife and crown?"
Lucien doesnāt respond to that question but instead looks towards the horizon from where he came. "Eve is coming."
"Ah yes, sheās coming to kill Michael," Cecilia comments excitedly.
"Weāre going to do it together, actually," Lucien adds in the same tone.
And both comments again leave all the elves there shocked.
Cecilia turns her attention back to Artem and the green elves. "Youāre blinded by ignorance, but instead of just pointing it out, Iām going to try to open your eyes."
"..." Artem doesnāt know what to think anymore, there are so many questions in his mind that he canāt be sure of anything.
Cecilia notices this and speaks so that all the green elves can hear. "You donāt want to fight against Lucien, not just because he is the son of your Human King, but also because a group of very powerful women is coming here now..."
She pauses before casting a provocative look at Lucien. "And these women are quite protective of their little brother, so they will brutally kill anyone who tries to harm him..."
Lucien adds this provocation to the list of things heāll make Cecilia take back, in the most diabolical way he knows, of course.
But her words indeed make the green elves increasingly reluctant to continue fighting.
Meanwhile, Ludmila and the blue elves grow more concerned, and Cecilia notices this.
She quickly glances at them, especially Ludmila. "My friend, youāve known me long enough to understand that I donāt betray my allies."
"Hmm..." Ludmila canāt help but look at Lucien with a concerned expression.
"Donāt worry about him," Cecilia comments. "No one has more reasons to want to kill Michael than he and his sisters."
Lucien finally appreciates something Cecilia says and smiles amiably at Ludmila. "Thatās true."
