Liam unfolded his arms slowly and stared straight at Mirov. His voice came out calm, but with a hint of disbelief. "So let me get this straight," he said. "If I decide to believe you for a second... what youâre saying is not only do vampires exist, but witches too?"
Mirov nodded without hesitation.
Liam blinked, his lips parting slightly. "Unbelievable," he muttered under his breath.
"And werewolves too," Mirov added, as if it was the most casual thing in the world.
Liamâs head snapped back toward him. "What?"
Mirovâs face stayed serious. "Werewolves exist too."
Liam let out a small laugh, shaking his head. "All right, now youâre just saying bullshit," he said, rubbing his temple. "You expect me to believe that? Whatâs next, dragons? Maybe fairies and goblins hiding in the dark too?"
But Mirov didnât look like he was joking. Not even a little.
"Every nightmare story youâve ever heard," Mirov said quietly. "Witchcraft, vampires, werewolves, demons, and others. They werenât just pieces of someoneâs imagination. They were memoriesâstories passed down to make people forget what really happened."
Liamâs smile faded, but he still didnât show much emotion. He stood there, just watching Mirov closely.
Then Mirov gave a small sigh. "Itâs all right," he said. "You might need a little bit of persuasion."
Liam frowned. "Persuasion?"
Without saying another word, Mirov took a slow step back. Then, to Liamâs surprise, he began unbuttoning his white shirt.
"What the hell are you doing?" Liam asked, raising a brow.
Mirov didnât answer. He kept going, one button at a time, until his chest was bare. Then he slipped off the shirt completely and started undoing his belt.
Liam just stared, his confusion turning into disbelief. "Youâve got to be kidding me," he muttered. "This isnât that kind of fight, man."
But Mirov ignored him and continued undressing until he was completely naked, standing calmly in the desert heat.
Then he looked at Liam with an unreadable expression. "Whatever happens next," he said, "do not overreact."
Liam frowned even deeper. "Overreact to whatâ"
He didnât finish the sentence.
A strange sound broke the silence. It was deep, like cracking wood, but wetter. Bones. Liam realized too late that it was bones.
Mirov grunted and hunched forward, his muscles twitching under his skin. The sound grew louder, more violent. Liamâs eyes widened as he watched the manâs body shift unnaturally, his spine curving, ribs expanding, skin stretching.
"Oh, hell no," Liam whispered, taking a small step back.
Thick gray fur began to push through Mirovâs skin, spreading fast over his chest, arms, and legs. His fingers curled and cracked as long, black claws replaced his nails. His feet split open, reforming into massive paws that sank into the sand.
His head jerked back suddenly as his face began to elongate, bones snapping and realigning. A deep, guttural growl tore through the air, low and rough, shaking the stillness of the desert.
Within seconds, Mirov was no longer human.
The transformation ended as he straightened up, standing at least ten feet tall. His body was covered in thick fur, dark gray with streaks of white across his chest and shoulders. His arms were long and powerful, muscles rippling beneath the fur. His claws glinted under the sun, sharp as blades.
His eyes glowed a burning yellow, wild yet focused. His face was a mix between a wolf and a man, the snout strong and lined with razor-like teeth. Steam rose from his body in the heat, and every breath he took came out like a low rumble of thunder.
Liam couldnât help itâhe took another step back, his instincts screaming at him even though his mind was frozen in shock.
"This is..." he muttered under his breath, barely able to speak. "Incredible."
Heâd seen monsters before. Heâd fought people with powers that defied logic. But this... this was something else. This was raw, primal, ancient.
Mirovâs eyes locked on him, and he took one heavy step forward. The ground seemed to tremble under his weight.
Liam immediately raised his guard. He didnât know what the hell was about to happen, but he wasnât taking chances.
Then, to his complete shock, the werewolf spoke.
The voice was rough and growling, like two stones grinding together, but it was still Mirovâs voice. "Do you believe me now?"
Liam stood there, every muscle in his body tense. The sound of the wind and the faint rumble of Mirovâs breathing filled the silence.
For the first time since he met Mirov, Liam had no words.
âââ
Liam appeared out of thin air, right in front of Lilith and the others. The air cracked with faint static before his boots touched the ground.
Everyone froze.
The moment Liam showed up, Blake vanished like smoke, gone in an instant. Mirov must have swapped them â took Blake and sent Liam back.
Lilith was the first to move. She winced slightly as she stood up, one hand clutching her wounded shoulder. Her fingers were stained faintly with her own blood, but she didnât care. She took a few careful steps toward Liam, her expression tense. "What happened?" she asked.
Liam didnât answer right away. His face looked different. Calm, but heavy â like someone who had just seen something impossible.
Lana walked closer too, her voice soft but firm. "Liam, whatâs going on? Why are you looking like that?"
He blinked slowly, his wings fading behind him. For a moment, he just stared at the ground. Then he raised his head and said quietly, "We have a lot to talk about."
âââ
Hours later, they were gathered at Seo Yeonâs house. The room was quiet.
Liam sat at the far end of the couch, leaning forward slightly with both elbows on his knees. The others were seated or standing around the living room â Lilith beside him with a bandaged shoulder, Lana leaning against the wall with crossed arms, and Dickson sprawled halfway across a chair like heâd rather be anywhere else.
Seo Yeon, Kelly, and Vanessa stood near the window, listening closely.
Liam had just finished explaining everything Mirov told him â about the vampires, the witches, and the curse.
Dickson rubbed the back of his neck and broke the silence first. "So let me understand this," he said slowly. "That Russian dude... Mirov... is a werewolf, right?"
Liam nodded.
"And he wants us on his side to fight against vampires?"
Again, Liam nodded.
Dickson blinked. "Man, this shit keeps getting crazier by the hour," he muttered.
Lilith looked down at the bandages on her shoulder for a second before speaking. "If what he said is true," she said carefully, "and the witches cursed the vampires into hiding centuries ago, then why canât they just do it again?"
Liam leaned back on the couch and exhaled. "Because, according to Mirov, once a curse like that is broken, it canât be reused," he said. "He said in two days, the curse will fade completely. After that, the vampires will be free again."
A silence filled the room.
Nobody said a word for a long time.
Lana finally spoke. "Two days..." she murmured. "Thatâs not a lot of time."
Seo Yeon crossed her arms, her brows furrowed. "And what if heâs lying?" she asked. "We donât even know what they really want. He could be playing both sides."
Liam looked at her and gave a small nod. "Thatâs why I donât trust anyone right now," he said. "Not yet. For now, we stay out of it unless we have to. Weâll watch and wait. Then, if what he said turns out to be true â if the vampires are really the threat â weâll fight with the werewolves."
Kelly nodded quietly. "Makes sense," she said. "No point picking sides too early."
Lana let out a slow sigh, pushing away from the wall. "Still... vampires, witches, werewolves," she said. "This world keeps getting more ridiculous by the day."
Liam gave a small smile but it didnât reach his eyes. "Youâre telling me," he said. "But we canât afford to be unprepared anymore."
His tone grew firm. "We need to train harder. We need to get stronger, and fast. Iâm sure every one of you felt it â how weak you were compared to the people you fought today."
Everyone went quiet again, the memories of their battles flashing in their heads â the overwhelming power, the helpless moments.
Lilith nodded slightly, her voice calm but low. "Heâs right," she said. "If what Mirov said is true, then weâre nowhere near ready for whatâs coming."
Dickson groaned and threw his head back dramatically. "Yeah, yeah, I get it," he said. "But come on, bitch, I just got my powers like, what, a day ago? How the hell am I supposed to compete with dudes whoâve had theirs for years?"
Lana smirked slightly, unable to help herself. "Maybe stop calling people âbitchâ for starters," she said.
Dickson looked at her. "Thatâs my charm," he said with a grin.
Vanessa rolled her eyes. "Itâs your downfall," she muttered.
Even Liam gave a small, tired chuckle. "Youâll get there," he said to Dickson. "All of us will. We donât have a choice anymore."
The room grew quiet again, each of them thinking the same thing â if the vampires were really coming, then the world they knew was about to end.
But for now, they had two days. Two days to prepare. Two days to train. Two days before everything changed.
