The sky above Hogwarts didn't just turn dark; it turned suffocating. The sheer number of Dementors gliding toward the castle felt like a physical weight, a freezing fog that drained the light from the torches and the hope from the hearts of the younger students still making their way to the Room of Requirement.
"They're testing the perimeter," Tonks muttered, her hand tightening around her wand. "Look at the shield."
The massive dome of the Protego Maxima was under assault. From the dark woods below, hundreds of green sparksâAvada Kedavraâhit the shimmering barrier like emerald raindrops, each impact sending a ripple of sickly green energy across the golden surface.

In the courtyard, McGonagall was a force of nature. She stood at the head of a small army of stone knights, her hair flying loose from its bun.
"Hold the line!" she commanded. "Neville, check the bridge! Ginny, keep the younger years moving!"
Neville Longbottom was standing near the edge of the stone bridge, gripping his wand so hard his knuckles were white. Beside him, Seamus Finnigan was frantically tapping a series of explosive charges he'd strapped to the underside of the arches.
"Seamus, now might be a good time!" Neville shouted as the first giant stepped out of the tree line, a massive uprooted pine tree in its hand.
"Wait for it... wait for it..." Seamus hissed, his eyes locked on the massive, grey-skinned feet thumping toward them.

Ethan watched the first giant swing its "club" against the shield. The impact sounded like a thunderclap, the golden dome buckling for a split second.
"They're going to break through the gate," Harry said, appearing on the battlements. He was out of breath, the Sword of Gryffindor strapped to his back. Ron and Hermione were right behind him, their faces pale but determined.
"They're not going to get that far," Ethan said, stepping onto the very edge of the stone parapet.
"What are you doing?" Hermione asked, her eyes wide. "The shield is still active! You can't cast through it withoutâ"
"I don't play by their rules, Hermione," Ethan replied.
He didn't pull a wand. He didn't say a word. He simply raised both hands and slammed them together. A massive, golden Tao Mandala flared into existenceânot just a shield, but a portal. It didn't open a hole to another room; it opened a rift to the Mirror Dimension.
The air in front of the Hogwarts gates didn't shatter; it folded.
As the first giant swung its club again, the space it was swinging into simply twisted. The giant stumbled, its massive weapon disappearing into a kaleidoscopic distortion of reality. The creature's roar of confusion was cut short as the ground beneath its feet turned into a shifting puzzle of stone and grass, tilting at a forty-five-degree angle.
"Blimey," Ron whispered, leaning over the edge. "He just... he turned the ground into a staircase."
Voldemort, standing on a hill overlooking the valley, watched the spatial distortion with a twitch of his lip. He could feel his Horcruxesâor the lack of themâburning in his chest. He was dying, and he knew it. Every second he spent on this earth was now a countdown.
"GOLGOMATH!" Voldemort's voice boomed, magically amplified to shake the very foundations of the castle. "Shatter the bridge! Bring me the boy!"
The second giant, a monstrosity nearly thirty feet tall, ignored the shimmering portal and lunged for the bridge.
"Now, Seamus!" Neville roared.
BOOM.
The explosion was spectacular. The stone bridge didn't just collapse; it vaporized in a cloud of dust and fire. The giant let out a gurgling cry as it plummeted into the ravine, its massive club following it down.
But the victory was short-lived. From the sky, the Dementors descended in a swarm of tattered black rags. The cold became unbearable. The students in the courtyard began to slump, their wands falling from their hands as the joy was sucked out of the world.
"Expecto Patronum!" Harry yelled, his silver stag bursting from his wand, but even the great stag struggled against hundreds of the soul-suckers.
Ethan looked at the sky and sighed. "Dementors. I hate these things. They're like cosmic leeches."
He stepped off the battlementsânot falling, but floating, his boots glowing with the faint orange light of Eldritch energy. He wasn't going to use a Patronus. He didn't have a "happy memory" that could power a spell of that scale.
Instead, he drew a massive circle in the air with his right hand.
"SOLAR FLARE!"
It wasn't a wizarding spell. It was raw, concentrated energy pulled from the heart of a sun in a different dimension. A blinding, white-hot pillar of light erupted from Ethan's palm, tearing through the purple sky.
The Dementors didn't just retreat; they dissolved. The light was too pure, too hot, and too alien for them to feed on. The sky over Hogwarts was momentarily bleached white, the freezing fog evaporating in a hiss of steam.
Voldemort's eyes widened. He had seen Dumbledore do many things, but he had never seen magic that felt so... physical. So raw.
"Severus," Voldemort hissed, his hand gripping the Elder Wandâthe wand that was still resisting him. "Tell the giants to ignore the portals. Charge the gates. We end this now."
The Death Eaters began their charge, a wave of black-robed figures sprinting across the charred grass. Among them, Bellatrix was screaming with delight, her wand spitting curses at the animated statues.
"The twins!" Ron shouted from the wall. "Look!"
From the high windows of the Gryffindor tower, Fred and George launched their latest masterpiece: The Dragon-Fire Firework (Combat Edition). A massive, sparkling dragon made of purple and orange flames soared over the heads of the defenders, diving straight into the ranks of the Snatchers. It didn't just explode; it multiplied, turning into a thousand tiny, biting fire-pixies that latched onto the Death Eaters' masks.
The battle had truly begun.
Ethan landed softly in the middle of the courtyard, surrounded by terrified students and determined professors. He looked toward the broken bridge, where a pale, serpentine figure was slowly floating across the gap, Nagini coiling around his shoulders.
"Finally," Ethan said, cracking his neck. "I was wondering when the boss fight was going to start."
Voldemort landed on the edge of the courtyard, the Death Eaters flanking him. The two forces stood thirty yards apart. Silence fell over the battlefield, save for the crackling of the fires and the distant groans of the falling giants.
Voldemort looked at Dumbledore, then at Harry, but his gaze finally settled on Ethan.
"You," Voldemort breathed, the word a venomous hiss. "You are the one who dares to touch my soul."
"And you," Ethan replied, his hands glowing with a lethal, golden hum, "are the one who forgot to check the expiration date on your immortality."
