Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Let Alone You
Editor: Noodletown Translations
Shellyâs face turned a bright red, even spreading to her fair eartips. It wasnât because she was shy, but how could someone say something like that? What do you mean by âeven though there is a woman here, I will still give you faceâ? That was simply too crude. How could she be called a woman when she was still so young?
Shelly, dressed in a white gown as if an elf, was unaware that an excited shout was resonating loudly in Mu Fanâs ear, âWow, a good start is half the battle won! Iâm very pleased with what you just said! I noticed from the monitor that fifteen men nearby were secretly watching her, meaning she must fit the aesthetic standards of your humans, right?!â The unscrupulous Lord Blackâs values coincidentally aligned amazingly with Mu Fanâs at that moment.
Mu Fan subconsciously nodded, rarely finding himself in agreement with Black. This girl looked quite pleasing and had a nice way of speaking. If the chubby guy knew what Mu Fan was thinking, he wouldnât know what to make of it.
âAnd according to my extensive experience in observing the tournamentsâŠâ Suddenly realizing he might have slipped up in his excitement, Black stopped himself abruptly.
Mu Fan didnât mind, because Conroe, who had been ignored multiple times, finally lost his temper. He couldnât tolerate being ignored in front of that beautiful lady anymore. His anger had completely shifted to Mu Fan, and he wasnât planning to hold back any longer.
âHey boy, are you asking for death?!â Conroeâs face, now devoid of any pretense, was grim.
âConroe, what are you doing?!â The chubby guy was genuinely angry. If he couldnât even protect his friends at his own banquet, then what was the point of being so subservient all the time!
âYou fat pig, youâd better stay out of this unless you want to suffer the consequences. If you embarrass Young Master Wen, no oneâs ever walked away intact!â Conroeâs fierce gaze fixed on the chubby guy, who shivered in fear.
âDonât worry about me.â Mu Fan smiled, not worried at all for his own sake.
Shelly, over there, hadnât expected such a commotion just by asking a couple of questions. If the boy in the store clerkâs uniform was implicated because of her, sheâd be terribly guilty, so she decided on a course of action.
âYoung Master Conroe, could you please let this matter slide for my sake? Iâve seen this person at the tailor shop, but he only bought this set of clothes. After all, itâs the Fowen familyâs banquet, and making a scene wouldnât be good for either side.â With cherry lips slightly parted, Shelly turned to Conroe and made a standard noble etiquette bow.
Conroeâs heart instantly bloomed with joy, and he quickly put a smile back on his face, âOf course, with Miss Shelly interceding, everything can be arranged. All that would be needed is for this guy to offer an apology, and this young master will let bygones be bygones.â
Shellyâs expression eased slightly. She was a girl with clear likes and dislikes and a kind heart; she didnât want people to suffer unjustly because of her.
âA fight to the death, Mu Fan, go up and do it like that old fighter used to crush you! Tomorrow, weâll see whose world this is.â Black thrived on chaos, the only existing entityâthe supercomputer Lord Blackâcouldnât stand having its host looked down upon like this.
A few of Conroeâs followers urged Mu Fan, âHurry up, apologize and offer a gift, then you can leave on your own.â
Mu Fan flicked his clothes with both hands and grinned, showing very white teeth, âWhat if I say no?â
Everyone almost turned to stone.
Again, a circle of spectators gathered, and it seemed that this time things really wouldnât be resolved peacefully.
Shelly covered her small mouth with her snow-white arms, unable to understand his thinking. With such an obvious situation, did he really seek trouble? Did he not appreciate her good intentions at all?
The chubby guy gaped, a bad feeling growing in his mind; this guy was going to be big today.
Conroeâs expression became slightly twisted; he couldnât endure it anymore. If he let this guy off today, he wouldnât be able to maintain his position as a leader in his circle.
His right fist suddenly punched out with a whistling wind, attacking directly at the banquet without saying a word, escalating the matter.
Around them, no one expected Young Master Conroe to act so recklessly without considering his identity, and an uproar erupted.
âPa!â There was no anticipated sound of fist meeting head. Just a light sound, as Mu Fan put away his smile, expressionlessly facing Conroe. He caught Conroeâs fist with his raised left hand, his body unmoving.
11 levels of punching powerâthose who knew the young masterâs punching power standard recognized it, but were wholly unprepared for the guy in the tailorâs uniform to catch this punch so easily.
âWhat are you doing!?â Shelly, once she realized what was happening, exclaimed angrily.
âMiss Shelly, you saw it; he did it to himself,â Conroe replied when he found his punch ineffective. He tried to withdraw to strike again, but when his arm exerted force, it felt as if caught by a machine claw, unable to pull it back at all.
Conroeâs face flushed embarrassingly red, and he had become a spectacle now, growing somewhat hysterical as he just wanted to retrieve his arm out! Seeing it was futile, he quickly signaled to someone beside him.
He watched as a man wearing glasses behind him unexpectedly threw a heavy punch while everyone was distractedâa punch that seemed to cut through the air more swiftly than the parted airflow!
A disguised bodyguard!
Conroe had incredibly brought his personal bodyguard to such an eventâunbelievable to all present.
What? Eyes narrowing, the recently enhanced training under modified conditions in the Gravity Room made Mu Fanâs right hand retract slightly before striking out like lightning with his palm facing outward.
With a muffled thud, the crowd watched that burly bespectacled manâs fist hang mid-air as Mu Fanâs right hand emerged in the same pose in front of that fist, firmly holding it.
Conroe was internally shocked beyond measureâthis was his bodyguard, with a physical standard of level 14! It wasnât just about punching power! Yet, the other guyâs arm didnât even waver.
Not good, it seemed like I had just run into a particularly stubborn rock.
âKid, do you know who I am?! Iâm telling you to let go quickly!â Conroe, previously cold and arrogant, suddenly found his imposing front somewhat weak because he felt Mu Fanâs palm squeezing, and his fist began to hurt.
âI said I didnât know,â Mu Fan answered impatiently. All this fuss just for having a meal, and this guy interrupted him before he even had a chance to tell the chubby guy about tomorrow, which irked him the most.
The situation on the field shifted dramatically. With only two punches, the surging crowd reacted intensely.
Who was this kid in a tailorâs uniform?
He actually subdued Young Master Conroe!
Holding one in each hand, the man on the right, veins bulging on his head, couldnât even withdraw his hand!?
Everyone was too shocked to speak. Shelly felt her worldview upendedâwas this still the same timid boy she had seen at noon?
âGood one, Mu Fan!! Youâve successfully attracted more people than that little girl,â unscrupulous Black cheered loudly in his earpiece, unnoticed by anyone that the micro-surveillance at the hallâs top was enjoying the unfolding drama.
âThis is Young Master Conroe!! The sole son of this planetâs finance minister! Do you really dare provoke him, boy?!â Nearby, Fleming was getting anxious; if something happened to this master here, his own fate wouldnât end well either.
âIs he very powerful? More so than Young Master Wen?â Mu Fanâs hands ignored these words, exerting more force, as Conroe and the bodyguard both held their arms, pained!
âYoung Master Wen!â These three words seemed magical, causing the young attendees to collectively fall silent, except for Shelly, who didnât understand why. This name was an absolute taboo in their circle. Young Master Wen wasnât part of their circleânot because they were exclusive, but because they were unworthy to welcome him. A flock of sheep trying to include a mad wolf? Just thinking about it brought fear after the fact.
Black continued to roar excitedly in Mu Fanâs earpiece, âContinue standing firm!â
âIt seems so,â Mu Fan replied calmly, with a chilling undertone.
âNo, no.â Conroe replied hastily as if he would ever be that reckless.
Yet, Mu Fan pressed his hands harder. The two men were instantly and powerfully forced into a half-kneel by the unstoppable force, then leaned closer to Conroeâs ear, delivering measured words like raging waves that left Conroe stupefied.
âI donât want to cause trouble, but that doesnât mean Iâm afraid to.â
âIâm not even afraid of Wen Zheming.â
âMuch less you!â
