Chapter 403: 389, Thrown into the Sea (4)_1 Chapter 403: 389, Thrown into the Sea (4)_1 âMiss Jian!â The maid called out.
Jian Qing replied, âLead the way.â
âPlease follow me.â The maid gestured with her hand.
Jian Qing walked slowly, following the maid out of the side door.
Once outside, the temperature dropped sharply.
Jian Qing tucked her hands into her pockets, looking at the red figure not far away, and couldnât help but smirk.
Standing outside in the cold winter wind, especially in a dress made of only a few pieces of cloth, werenât they cold?
Or maybe she was just more sensitive to the cold.
Upon hearing footsteps, the seductive figure turned around.
âYou can leave now.â
âYes, Princess!â
The maid retreated, leaving only Jian Qing and Lola.
Lola looked Jian Qing up and down, a hint of mockery in her eyes. âCommoners are always commoners, attending a banquet in a sweater, truly without any taste.â
Jian Qing raised an eyebrow, chuckling. âMy fiancĂ© and I like matching outfits. Why does it bother you? Besides, even if I came in pajamas, I would outshine you by a mile.â
âYouâŠâ With no one else around, Lola couldnât keep her composure.
âWhat âyouâŠâ, auntie, why donât you spend more time contemplating life? You should know better at your age, donât just age without gaining any wisdom, always pining after someone who doesnât belong to you.â
Lola glared at her with murderous intent, wishing she could skin her alive. âYou dare call me auntie, you little brat.â
Age is a delicate issue for women, and Lola, who loves to be beautiful, is no exception.
âWhatâs wrong with calling you auntie? After all, youâre on the verge of turning thirty, and you might even become a leftover woman in a few years.â Jian Qing responded nonchalantly.
Lola clenched her fists, yelling, âWhat qualifĂes you to judge me, you are already engaged, but youâre shamelessly flirting with other men! Youâre the real slut.â
âAre you referring to Mo Xiao when you say âother menâ?â Jian Qing asked mockingly.
âStop pretending to be innocent. You have a fiancĂ©, but still seducing Mo Xiao, youâre a scheming bitch, shameless.â
At that, Jian Qing laughed.
âAh!â
She and Mo Xiao?
Was her mind playing tricks on her?
âWhat are you laughing at?â Lola asked viciously.
âLaughing at your stupidity, your foolishness.â Jian Qing replied.
Lola sneered, âJian Qing, donât think just because you have the backing of the powerful CEO, you can act recklessly. Donât forget this is the Durand familyâs territory.â
Jian Qing looked at her calmly, âAnd then?â
Lola took a step forward, staring at Jian Qing âs delicate face, wishing she could just reach out and destroy it. âI fell in love with Mo Xiao at first sight at a banquet when I was twenty-four. Iâve been waiting for him all these years. I will never allow anyone to take him away from me.â
The strong scent of perfume wafted over them, making Jian Qing frown and step backwards.
âJian Qing, this is my last warning. Stay away from Mo Xiao, or else do not blame me for being rude.â Lola said coldly.
Jian Qing glanced up at her, âIâm quite curious as to what you mean by being ârude.â I must say a man as outstanding as Mo Xiao deserves better than you.â
Her last comment finally lit the fuse to Lolaâs sanity.
She tightened her grip on the small vial in her hand, her eyes grew cold, âShut up.â
She flicked off the cap with her fingertips and waved her hand, scattering a small amount of powder into the air.
Jian Qing saw the vial in her hand out of the corner of her eye, and a subtle scent different from her perfume floated into her nostrils, making her face fall.
She held her breath and, quick as lightning, grabbed Lolaâs wrist and seized the vial from her.
âWhat did you do?â
Lola smirked cruelly, âThis is a gift for you, enjoy.â
âSpeak.â Jian Qing tightened her grip, commanding coldly.
Intense pain shot up from her wrist, and Lolaâs face turned deathly pale.
âLet go of me.â
âAre you going to say it or not?â
âDrunk Soul Dew, an aphrodisiac, are you satisfied now?â Lola screamed.
Jian Qingâs eyes darkened. She glanced at the item shoved up Lolaâs nose and sneered.
So thatâs how it is.
âYou think having something up your nose means youâre safe?â
Dammit, she has been discovered.
Realizing she was in a bad situation, Lola tried to shake Jian Qingâs hand off. âLet go of me.â
âYou should enjoy this yourself.â Jian Qing grabbed her chin and poured the remaining powder into Lolaâs mouth.
âCough coughââ
Lola struggled wildly, but Jian Qing held her fast, preventing her from moving.
Jian Qing watched as the powder dissolved in Lolaâs mouth, then threw her aside and tossed the vial into the sea.
âCough, cough, Jian Qing, you bitch.â
Lola was bent double over the railing, digging her fingers into her throat, regardless of her dignity.
âBlehââ
It was too late, the powder had already dissolved in her saliva and she couldnât vomit it out.
She had taken too much of the powder, and its effects quickly took hold. Lolaâs skin flashed red, her face was as red as blood.
Suppressing the agitation in her body, Lola, her eyes glowing red with rage, lunged at Jian Qing. âIâll kill you, itâs all your fault!â
Jian Qing laughed coldly, grabbed Lola, tied a rope around her waist, then threw her into the sea.
âAh!â
Staring at the dark sea, Lola screamed.
A wave rolled in, muffling her screams.
Jian Qing tied the other end of the rope to the railing, then turned to leave.
She had only taken a few steps when she started to feel restless.
Frowning, she pinched her arm forcefully to keep herself alert.
Even though she had held her breath, she had still inhaled a little of the aphrodisiac. That damn Lola would resort to such a disgraceful method.
She didnât have her phone, she needed to find Xiaojing as soon as possible.
As she walked briskly, sweat broke out on her forehead, her fair face flushing, and she pulled at her sweaterâs collar, taking a deep breath.
âJian Qing!â
A soft voice came from the opposite side. Jian Qing looked up to see who it was and froze.
Why did she always run into him?
Finally seeing Jian Qing alone, Chu Yihen quickly walked over.
Just as he was about to speak, he noticed her discomfort.
âJian Qing, whatâs wrong with you?â
âNone of your business.â
Jian Qing brushed past him, intending to leave.
Chu Yihen saw her flushed face and suddenly realized what was happening.
He reached out to stop her, but Jian Qing, as if she had eyes in the back of her head, managed to evade him.
She leaned against the wall and glared at him, her eyes cold. âDonât mess with me, get lost.â
Chu Yihen didnât seem to mind her cold attitude, asking, âHave you been drugged?â
Her current symptoms matched those of someone who had been drugged almost exactly.
âGet out of my way.â
Feeling her strength fading, Jian Qing had no patience to waste time with him.
