Chapter 521: 506, Is it the Ghost Doctor_1? Chapter 521: 506, Is it the Ghost Doctor_1? Under the warmth of his skin, the manâs heartbeat reached Jian Luoâs fingertips, making his eyes bristle with emotion. His usually cold and hard tone softened.
âYou already knew about the viral reagent in my body, so why are you still forcing me? Black Jack, why are you doing this?â
By the end, he couldnât help but choke up.
Black Jack cupped his face, his fingertips migrated on his cheeks with a soft voice, âJian Luo, if it were me today who were suggesting we break up, would you let me go?â
ââŠâ
Jian Luoâs eyes drooped, his answer had been long lodged in his heart.
No, of course not.
âSo, how can you ask me to do something that you yourself have no power to? Jian Luo, what youâre doing to me is cruel, what do you think I am?â
Tears welled up in Jian Luoâs eyes, he struck Black Jackâs shoulder, âWhat should I do then? I might not have much time left here. I donât want you to watch my sick face in agony, Iâm just scared⊠scared that I wonât be able to see your face anymoreâŠâ
His words choked off, lost in a heated kiss. Jian Luoâs mind went blank, and he reached out intending to hold him.
After a moment, when Black Jack let go of him and they were face to face, their warm breaths misting each otherâs faces, âLuo Xiaobai, if you really lose your sight, I will be your eyes. And if you die, I will accompany you. No matter where you go, you canât abandon me.â
His magnetic voice, his firm and domineering words, were breaking down the already-shaky fortress in Jian Luoâs heart.
Jian Luo gazed at him deeply. After a while, a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
âBlack Jack, youâve won.â
Before his words had even fully left his mouth, he was engulfed in the manâs powerful embrace.
âLuo Xiaobai, we can get through this. Bai Jue will have a solution,â he cooed, his hand nestling Jian Luoâs head.
âMmm,â Jian Luo closed his eyes, lifting a hand to embrace him in return.
Eventually, he lost to him.
But, he lost willingly.
The room fell silent.
âWe still canât get a hold of Little Qingqing, itâs really making me nervous.â The elder Mr. Jian put down his phone with an unsettled look on his face.
âDad, donât worry too much. Luoluoâs current condition is stable, Qingqing and Bai Jue should be back soon.â Mo Xiao spoke soothingly.
Jianâs old man opened his mouth, about to say something, but then he heard steps coming from the stairway.
Soon after, Jian Luo and Black Jack descended the stairs together.
The old Jian knew that Black Jack had stayed the night here, and he did not say anything about it.
âLuo, how are you feeling? Are you uncomfortable anywhere?â Mo Xiao looked at Luo, concern etched in his icy gaze.
âDad, Iâm fine. Iâm sorry for making you all worry,â Jian Luo apologized.
âThis childâŠwhat are you talking about? You canât hide such severe illness from us. It seems like youâre just itching for trouble.â Jianâs grandfather looked at him lovingly, feigning annoyance.
âGrandpa, I was wrong. I wonât do it next time,â Jian Luo obediently said.
Jianâs grandfather glanced at Black Jack, then said, âBreakfast is ready in the dining room. You go have a eat, Black Jack, you stay here.â
Jian Luoâs smile faded, his eyes full of unease as he shifted his gaze to Jianâs grandfather. âGrandpa!â
âYou think your Grandpa is going to eat him or something?â Feeling a hint of irritation at Jian Luoâs sudden defense of Black Jack, Jianâs grandfather scoffed.
His raised child was actually elbowing him for an outsider.
What little rascal this is.
In the end, considering Jian Luoâs current physical condition, Jianâs grandfather softened, âBlack Jack, you can stay here for the next few days.â
At his words, the eyes of Jian Luo and Black Jack lit up.
âThank you, grandpa!â Jian Luoâs lips curved upward in a smile.
Jianâs grandfather huffed, âNow you know how to thank me? Werenât you just treating me like a big, bad tiger whoâs going to eat somebody?â
Jian Luo chuckled sheepishly, âNot at all.â
âThank you, Grandpa Jian,â Black Jack said.
âGo and eat breakfast, itâs going to get cold if you wait a while longer.â Although they were not his biological children, they were still the children he had watched grow. If they hadnât been together, how could Jianâs grandfather have bothered Black Jack?
Jian Luo took hold of Black Jackâs arm, and the two headed toward the dining room. Mo Xiao watched as their backs become one. His gaze darkened.
Silence filled the room.
The tension in Saint Ronas Town ceased after Iverson and the others were caught, and the town quickly regained its usual tranquility thanks to the relief materials sent by Jingwu.
Jian Qing got up very early and went for a walk with Jingwu along the beach, a bunch of children were playing barefoot on the beach.
Jingwu encircled his arms around Jian Qing from behind, the large coat ensnared her firmly against him. Jian Qing relaxed into him, her gaze falling on the children kicking around a football nearby.
The football soiled with sand rolled to their feet.
âSister, could you kick our ball back, please?â A boy smiled brightly at Jian Qing, hollering at them.
Jian Qing smirked, just as she was about to move her foot to kick the ball, Jingwu behind her beat her to the punch. He stretched his long leg out and kicked the ball back in one swift action.
âThank you!â The boy got his ball back, beaming in thanks.
Jian Qing turned towards Jingwu, his handsome face in her view she teased, âAre you a sister?â
He was the one called out to, not Jingwu. Why was he butting in?
âIâm your husband!â He responded.
Jian Qing laughed, turning around to look at him. âSays who? Do you have an official wedding certificate to prove that?â
âWeâll go get one as soon as we get back then.â A galaxy of stars danced in Jingwuâs purple eyes, the grin on his lips intoxicating.
âDream on.â Jian Qing retorted.
Jingwu merely chuckled low. He wasnât going to argue.
After all, getting the marriage certificate was something theyâd definitely have on their to-do list soon.
Meanwhile, Bai Jue and Fu Heng had once again locked themselves in the room, researching an antidote. Sometimes they even forgot to eat.
âDamn it, finally cracked it. I was almost done for.â Bai Jue stood up, stretched, and sighed.
He could smell the stench that had started to seep into his clothes.
Fu Heng too was wearing a relieved smile, âLetâs just finish up the rest quickly, Iâm starving.â
Bai Jue nodded, resuming his work on the antidote.
âBy the way, Bai Jue. I have a question for you.â Fu Heng suddenly said.
âWhat?â
âAre you the legendary Ghost Doctor that no one can find?â Fu Heng asked, glancing at him from the corner of his eye.
Having witnessed Bai Jueâs medical skills firsthand in the past few days, it was clear that they were much more nuanced than what any ordinary doctor possessed.
Bai Jue was nonchalant, his face calm, âWhat Ghost Doctor?â
âAlright then, Iâll take it as you admitting.â Fu Heng helplessly said.
Bai Jue looked flabbergasted, âAnd when did I admit?â
Brother, you can eat however youâd like, but you canât be talking nonsense like that.
Once they found the antidote, the rest of the work was fairly straightforward. Bai Jue and Fu Heng administered the antidote to the townspeople whoâd been injected with the viral reagent. Nonetheless, they kept the townspeople in isolation to continue observing their condition and prevent any unexpected occurrences.
