Chapter 813: 799, you donât mind? (2) Chapter 813: 799, you donât mind? (2) âHe stopped crying?â Jian Luo was surprised.
Quan Mingxuan smiled and leaned in close to Quan Jingwu, negotiating, âJingwu, let me hold him too. I havenât had the chance to hold my nephew yet.â
Quan Jingwu glanced at him sideways, his voice cool, âDidnât you just want to give my son a nickname called âThree-Eightâ?â
Pfft, that struck a nerve.
Quan Mingxuanâs outstretched hand froze mid-air. Was he really holding a grudge?
âI didnât, I think Seventeen and Nineteen are very good nicknames. If you guys have a daughter in the future, you can call her Eighteen. Thereâs a saying that goes, âa girl is like a flower at eighteenâ.â
The more he explained, the darker Quan Jingwuâs face grew.
Such vulgar names could never suit his little padded jacket.
He shot a cold glance at him, his voice icy, âYouâd better save that for your daughter.â
Then his son could be called Goudan, and his daughter Eighteen. Couldnât be more perfect.
âAlright, all of you go out and sit. Donât let the baby go hungry,â Old Lady Quan began shooing people away.
Grandpa Quan and the others went to the living room outside to chat, leaving only Rhee inside to accompany them, since Jian Qing and Quan Jingwu were both first-time parents with no experience.
Unlike Seventeen who had quieted down, Nineteen was wailing at the top of his lungs, his little red face so pitiful that even Rhee felt heartbroken.
âLittle Qingqing, itâs time to feed the baby.â
âIâll go mix the formula.â Quan Jingwu placed Seventeen in Rheeâs arms and turned around to prepare the formula.
Rhee looked at him, a full head of black lines, and blocked his way, âWhat formula? The baby needs breast milk.â
This silly son of hers, how could his head be so thick, even thicker than Ahaoâs.
âBreast milk?â Quan Jingwu frowned.
Rhee nodded, âYes, Little Qingqing needs to breastfeed the baby.â
At that, Jian Qingâs fair cheeks flushed a few shades pinker. She lowered her gaze to her son in her arms, crying non-stop, and felt somewhat at a loss.
âLittle Qingqing, what are you spacing out for? Do you feel unwell?â Rhee saw her standing still and wondered if she felt sick.
Jian Qing shook her head. Quan Jingwu gave her a look and took his son back into his arms, âMom, we got this.â
Rhee caught sight of Jian Qingâs slightly reddened cheeks, understood in an instant, covered her mouth with a smile, and walked out, âIf you have any questions, just call for me.â
After the door closed, Quan Jingwu held Seventeen and sat on the bed, now just the two of them. Jian Qing had no reason to be embarrassed anymore. She placed Nineteen on the bed and raised her hand to undo the buttons on her clothes.
As the buttons came undone, her pale, jade-like skin was exposed to the air, and also caught a certain gentlemanâs eye. Quan Jingwuâs gaze deepened, and he reached out to hold her hand.
âXiaojing, what are you doing?â Jian Qing looked at him, puzzled.
âJust mix formula for them to drink,â Quan Jingwu said jealously.
Jian Qing looked at him amusedly, âHow can that be okay? The baby is so small, and mom said they need to drink breast milk.â
âButâ Quan Jingwu still wanted to argue, but she cut him off.
âNo buts. Otherwise, you can go outside and sit too.â
Quan Jingwu stared straight at her and, in the end, admitted defeat. Watching the little one lying in his wifeâs arms, his crimson lips were tightly pressed together.
The first time she breastfed the baby, Jian Qing felt indescribably odd. Noticing the manâs burning gaze fixed on her, she glanced at him lightly, âXiaojing, can you stop staring at me? Whatâs there to look at when your son is having milk?â
âIâm afraid he might overeat,â Quan Jingwu responded without changing his expression.
ââŠâ
Jian Qing turned away, leaving him the back of her head.
Your wife has blocked you, and she doesnât want to talk to you anymore.
A trace of amusement flitted through Quan Jingwuâs eyes as he looked down at the seventeen in his arms, satisfied as he gazed into the black eyes identical to Jian Qingâs, his lips curving into a contented smile.
Once the two little treasures had their fill, Quan Jingwu carried them outside to let Jian Luo and the others hold them, while he himself dashed back inside to keep Jian Qing company.
âWhy are you back in here? Whereâs the baby?â Jian Qing straightened her clothes, and seeing him close the door, she asked, puzzled.
âGrandpa and the others are holding him,â answered Quan Jingwu as he approached, lifted the blanket, and lay down beside her, wrapping her in his arms.
Jian Qing chuckled, her arms encircling his sturdy waist, and looked up at him, âIâve sweated so much, even my hair has an odor, arenât you repulsed?â
âDoes it have an odor? I didnât notice,â Quan Jingwuâs eyes crinkled with a smile as he leaned down to lightly peck her soft red lips, âI find it quite fragrant, actually.â
âSmooth talker.â
After speaking, Jian Qing buried herself in his chest, âXiaojing, this is truly blissful!â
With him and the babies, she felt utterly content.
Quan Jingwu stroked her long hair, his thin lips curving into a perfect arc as he teased, âAre you referring to the bliss of being held by me?â
Jian Qing laughed with her eyes curved, openly confessing, âYes, with you by my side, Iâm the happiest.â
Quan Jingwu chuckled softly, teasing her nose with his fingertip, âSilly girl!â
While the couple playfully bantered in their room, the living room outside was bustling as Quan Jingwuâs father and others took turns doting on the two little dumplings. Having been well-fed, the two little ones were quiet and calm, no matter who held them, without a single cry.
âGrandpa, let me hold them, let me hold them,â Jian Luo said as he sat beside Jianâs father, his arms eagerly outstretched.
Jianâs father, seeing his look of anticipation, carefully placed nineteen into his arms, âBe gentle, donât hurt him.â
âI know, I know,â Jian Luo said, beaming as he held nineteen, with eyes so smiley they were nearly closed.
âNineteen, Iâm your uncle, remember that, okay? When you grow up a bit, uncle will take you to play at the Manor and the Fortress.â
âMom, Iâm not going home tonight. Iâll stay here. Little Qingqing has just given birth and is still weak. Iâll stay and help take care of the babies,â Rhee said as she folded the tiny clothes she brought, speaking as she worked.
âMaybe I should stay as well, with two babies, I could help out,â Weng Ya, who couldnât get enough of the two little bundles, said out loud.
âYou have to work tomorrow. I can manage on my own, and besides, Jingwu is here too. The two sweeties are quiet; it should be easy to look after them,â Rhee replied.
âIf I really canât manage on my own, Iâll give you a call.â
Hearing this, Weng Ya nodded, âAlright then, if you canât manage, remember to call me.â
In the middle of the night, the two little dumplings woke up two or three times. Rhee and Quan Jingwu each took care of one, and though at first Quan Jingwu was all thumbs as he changed his sonâs diaper, after a few tries, while not exactly expert, he was passable.
And there was one thing Rhee was right about: after having their milk and getting their diapers changed, the two little ones quieted down, sparing everyone a lot of worry.
After staying in the hospital for nearly five days, Quan Jingwu took Jian Qing and the two little ones back to the old mansion. After all, there were more people in the old house to help take care of the babies, and Jian Qing still had to go through confinement.
