The woman I asked took one look at my face and instantly turned red. She started stammering and panicking.
Then the male adventurer next to her, who seemed to be her companion, scowled and poked her in the side. That seemed to snap her out of it, and she finally told me where the guild was.
As expected, looks are OP.
I saw the guild building and opened the door to go in.
"...Welcome~ If you're here to eat, please take an empty seat. If you need work info, head to the counter inside."
The female employee serving food in the guild paused when she saw me, then guided me.
In KonoSuba, the Adventurer's Guild also runs a restaurant inside. In most other fantasy worlds, adventurer guilds have too many rough adventurers coming in and fights break out constantly, so running a restaurant would be unthinkable. It was pretty unique.
"Hey~ Don't think I've seen your face before."
A guy with a mohawk and a rough-looking face called out to me.
I know him from the original. He talks rough, but he cheers on adventurers and gives directions to newbies.
"Believe it or not, I'm someone who dreams of being a hero. I came to join the Adventurer's Guild."
"Oh, is that so? Reckless one! Welcome to the entrance of hell! Guild registration is over there."
I left the tsundere uncle behind and moved to the guild reception desk.
Wow~ breasts⊠So this is Luna, the guild receptionist.
She's the most popular blonde, busty receptionist at the Adventurer's Guild. Thanks to her pretty face and large chest, adventurers always line up for Luna even when other receptionists are free. Because of that, she's stressed beyond belief from the workload.
"...Welcome~ What can I help you with?"
Luna also paused for a moment when she saw my face, then quickly smiled and responded.
"I came to sell some goods. I heard the guild buys unusual items. And with that money, I'd like to register as an adventurer."
"I see. Then please show me what you'd like to sell first?"
I pulled a backpack out of my inventory and showed her the clothes I brought.
Inventories aren't exactly common in this world, but equipment or skills that can store items do exist. So using my inventory openly wasn't a problem.
Luna began inspecting the clothes carefully.
"These are made from good fabric! For this one (tracksuit) we can do 20,000 eris, this one (suit) 30,000 eris, and this one (jeans) 10,000 eris. Total for (2 tracksuits, 1 suit, 2 jeans) is 90,000 eris. Would you like to sell?"
Jeans were actually more expensive than tracksuits, but I guess the tracksuit fabric looks more high-class here.
"Yes, please."
Luna organized the clothes and handed me 90,000 eris.
Eris, KonoSuba's currency, matches the Japanese yen in value. So 90,000 eris is about 900,000 won in Korean money.
"Here's your purchase amount. And adventurer registration costs a 1,000 eris fee. Shall I register you right away?"
"Yes, please register me."
I paid the 1,000 eris immediately.
"Then I'll explain it to you."
Luna brought out a blue crystal orb and a brown card from the reception desk and showed me the card.
"All adventurers have a class. And this is your 'Registration Card.' It records how many subjugations you've completed. When your level goes up, you get points to learn skills, so please work hard to level up."
Luna placed the brown card on the wooden stand under the blue crystal orb.
"Then please place your hand on this crystal."
"Like this?"
When I placed my hand on the crystal, it began to glow and the attached machinery started moving.

"No! With such amazing talent, why 'Adventurer'! Please reconsider!"
I calmed Luna down and spoke.
"Don't worry. I have my reasons."
I understood why Luna was reacting like this.
In KonoSuba, the Adventurer class can learn all skills, but none of them are powerful. And there's a cap on growth, so the amount of skill points you can allocate is limited.
That's why most people think the right way to grow is to choose an advanced class and focus on strengthening a few powerful skillsâquality over quantity.
But I have Pleasure Life. I can learn skills with KonoSuba points and raise them with Pleasure Life's 'Skill Enhancement.'
I couldn't explain that, though.
"Sigh~ Understood. I'll register you as an Adventurer. But if you change your mind, please tell me anytime. You can change classes!"
Luna sighed, disappointed by my choice.
"Got it. If I change my mind, I'll definitely come back."

I took the card and found a seat near the reception desk.
Are Kazuma and Aqua not here yet? No way they're coming tomorrow, right?

Just then, the Giant Toad fries and Shuwa-Shuwa were delivered to my table.
I paid, adding a tip, and started eating.
The Giant Toad fries were like slightly tough fried chicken. I'd only been eating hard jerky and emergency ration blocks in the bunker, so maybe it's because I hadn't had warm food in forever, but it was really delicious.
I finished the Giant Toad fries and was drinking my Shuwa-Shuwa when I saw Kazuma and Aqua walk into the guild.
