Three years passed after that. I don't know what discussions were held behind the scenes, but in the end, the explosion was officially concluded to have been caused by a meteorite this time as well.
However, Japan was receiving active support from the Holy Church, and with aid from various countries, it was quickly stabilizing.
We also bought land in Fukuoka, built a large house, and were all living together. Taiga had found work again as an English teacher in Fukuoka. Sakura had entered university. After graduating, Shirō continued to help people.
Rider and Saber, together with the maid Sella, helped with the housework and assisted Shirō. Illya had started attending school and seemed to have made some friends.
After the Holy Grail War ended, Sella and Illya were apparently abandoned by the Einzbern family; their support was cut off, and they received no contact. So I used [Mugensen] to transform them into human bodies while preserving their existing circuits as much as possible. As a result, it was now difficult to consider them homunculi.
Tōsaka Rin graduated and decided to go to the Clock Tower to learn and study magecraft. However, Rin didn't stay in England; she lived at the newly built house in Japan and commuted to the Clock Tower. Since she knew I could teleport, she was taking advantage of me.
I acted as Rin's bus service while also helping Shirō. Even though my [Strong Will] ability meant I had no mental trauma, I still felt a certain amount of guilt.
So, just as I had done in One Piece, I used the [Cook-Cook Fruit] ability to produce ingredients, reducing the financial burden, and built houses for people who had lost their homes. As a result, my [Cooking] ability rose to EX, and I acquired [Construction] ability, which rose to A.
One day, Shirō and Sakura seemed to have made up their minds and announced something in front of everyone, but the reaction was lukewarm. We all already knew about the two of them.
"I've decided to live together with Sakura."
"As expected… I've known ever since you were sneaking into Sakura's room late every night."
When Rin said that, Shirō and Sakura were extremely embarrassed. Then Rider also spoke up.
"Indeed. Sometimes strange sounds came from the next room, making it difficult to sleep. I understand you are both adults, but I wish you would show some restraint."
"Y-you mean you could hear us?"
"Yes, very clearly!!"
Everyone laughed, and Shirō and Sakura, their faces bright red as if about to burst, hung their heads. And I now understood why Rider had been secretly visiting me so often lately; it was because of that situation.
We reassigned the rooms. We gave Shirō and Sakura a large room in the annex to live in, and we also moved some rooms around. Rin grumbled as she moved her things.
"I wish my boyfriend were a little more proactive…"
"Rin, it couldn't be helped. I was busy, and you were incredibly busy at the Clock Tower too."
"Aish! Really! We haven't even kissed yet. It's been three years since we started dating! Learn something from Shirō!"
"Hee~ So that's what you wanted?"
I pulled Rin into a tight embrace. Her face turned red and she flustered.
"W-w-wait!"
"Huh? Why, you don't like it?"
"Well… there are still people around… somewhere with a better mood…"
"Okay."
A few days passed like that. Rin said she would have time three days later, so I made reservations at a famous restaurant and hotel in England.
On the appointed day, I went to the Clock Tower. I saw Rin arguing with someone.
"So please, hand over your Servant to me!"
"Why should I have to do that!"
"Because his outstanding abilities and wonderful appearance would suit our Edelfelt family better. I am not simply asking you to hand him over. In exchange, I will provide financial support for the struggling Tōsaka family."
"I already have more than enough money!"
The person arguing with Tōsaka Rin was Luviagelita Edelfelt, the next head of the Edelfelt family, also known as 'Luvia'. Luvia was the successor to Edelfelt, a distinguished magecraft family from Finland in Northern Europe, and had been a rival of the Tōsaka family due to past events.
She had blonde hair styled in multiple rolls, a Western aristocratic appearance, and was quite a beauty. She was similar in age to Rin and, since they had many classes together, often bickered with her.
As a result, I also knew her. What was interesting about her was that, contrary to her appearance, she had trained in professional wrestling.
"Whoa, whoa~ Everyone calm down."
When I stepped in between them to mediate, Luvia looked at me with a bright expression and made her pitch.
"Jin~ you came again today. Please, do come to our family."
"Miss Luvia, I'm sorry, but I am her Servant."
Luvia smiled and suddenly took my hand.
"Please don't be so formal with me~ Just call me 'Luvia'. Jin~"
At that, Tōsaka Rin grabbed Luvia by the shoulder and said with a frown,
"Hey! What do you think you're doing with someone else's Servant!"
"Oh my, Miss Tōsaka, I was just greeting Jin because I was happy to see him after so long. Is there something strange about that~?"
Rin looked exasperated at her words.
"It's all strange!"
Rin tried to grab Luvia to argue, but Luvia kept slapping her hands away. Rin frowned and grabbed both of Luvia's hands, engaging in a test of strength.
"You're really something!!"
"Oh my~ oh my~ oh my~"
Rin was using all her strength, but Luvia was smiling and pretending to be weak while playing along. Seeing this made Rin even angrier, and she challenged Luvia to a duel.
"Schedule change!! The next lesson is self-defense!!"
"Oh my! Very well."
The two went to the dueling arena and fought. Physically, Luvia was clearly superior. Tōsaka Rin landed blows with Bajiquan, but they didn't seem very effective. In the end, Luvia won. I went over to them and used Heal.
"Oh my! As expected, Jin has so many abilities. You really should come to our family…"
"Be quiet!!"
Rin was completely angry from losing the duel. I waited outside until Rin had changed her clothes. Then, suddenly, Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg approached me and greeted me. This man was the 'Jewel Magus', the teacher of the Tōsaka family. The Jewel Magus was an old gentleman with a rather robust build.
"So you're Jin. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you. I've heard many stories about you."
"I know you were the one who dealt with the Holy Grail. Thank you. For saving humanity."
I didn't know how he knew, but as a great magus who could use the Second Magic, interference with parallel worlds, I thought he must have his own methods.
"Not at all. Many people died, so I don't think I deserve praise."
"I see. But if you hadn't stopped it back then, even more sacrifices would have occurred. It is certainly something praiseworthy."
"I'm grateful you think so."
"If you ever need help, say so anytime. I will help if I can."
"Then, may I ask one favor…"
After finishing my conversation with the Jewel Magus, I saw Rin come out after changing her clothes.
"Well then, I'll be on my way. It was pleasant. Have a good date."
"It was pleasant as well. Until next time."
The Jewel Magus disappeared like that. Rin approached me, tilted her head, and asked,
"Huh? I felt a faint magical energy. What were you doing?"
"Nothing. We'll be late for the restaurant reservation. Let's go."
"Okay."
Rin came out wearing a red dress, with her hair neatly tied in a ponytail. She had also put on a bit of makeup, showing off a mature beauty.
We arrived at the restaurant and enjoyed the course meal.
"Hmm… it's tasty, but honestly, I think it's not as good as the food Jin makes."
That was only natural. My [Cooking] ability was now EX.
"Hahaha, but the atmosphere is nice, isn't it? In a restaurant like this, enjoying the meal in this atmosphere is part of the experience."
"That's true."
We continued enjoying our meal. Then Rin asked me,
"Hey… Jin, don't you have to go back to your original world? You said you were going to reproduce humanity."
"Later. I don't age, you see. So I have time to spare. As long as I have magical energy, I can stay as long as I want."
Hearing that, Rin's expression brightened with relief.
"Phew~ I was worried. That you might just leave. Lately, I've even been having nightmares—dreams where no matter how much I call you, you don't appear."
Hearing her say this, I thought that my presence now occupied a very large place in Rin's heart.
"I promise. Even if I do go back, I'll definitely tell you in advance, Rin."
"Good! That's a promise."
We finished our meal and moved to the hotel. I confirmed the reservation at the front desk, and we went up to the room.
"I'll shower first."
"Okay."
Rin went into the shower first. But an hour passed and she still hadn't come out. Wondering if something was wrong, I checked with [Observation Color] and felt that she was showering well enough with no problems.
"That took a long time?"
"Sorry. Because of the side effects of the Magic Crest, I have to take strong medicine, so I was worried about body odor…"
"Is that so? Lie down on the bed for a moment."
Rin hesitated for a moment, then did as I asked and lay down on the bed. She had scrubbed herself so hard, worried that I might be repulsed by the smell, that her skin was red and raw. Seeing this, I thought her skin would get damaged if left like this, so I first used Heal on her.
"You washed too hard. Don't do this from now on; you'll damage your skin."
"Uh, yeah."
I approached Rin and smelled her. There was a faint herbal medicine scent, but I didn't think it was that unpleasant. It was a familiar scent to Koreans, I suppose.
"Hmm~ The scent of home~"
Thump!
"Ugh!"
As I was smelling her, Rin, embarrassed, hit my head and got angry.
"How long are you going to keep smelling me!"
"Hmm… I don't mind it, but Rin seems to be struggling. Wait a moment."
I used [Mugensen] to adapt the Magic Crest to Rin's body immediately, without side effects.
"Done. You shouldn't need to take the medicine anymore."
"What? Really? Then why didn't you do that sooner? Do you know how much I've suffered all this time?"
"I didn't know. That you were having a hard time."
Hearing that, Rin grabbed her head with both hands, frowning in agony over her past wasted efforts.
"Agh… damn! Anyway, go take a shower quickly."
I also took a shower, then enjoyed a good night with Rin, and returned to Japan.
Another three years passed after that. In that time, Sakura and Shirō, having graduated from university, got married. Many people came to congratulate them because of Shirō's good deeds. Taiga was very sad because she still hadn't gotten married and was now over thirty.
Unlike the original story, Shirō didn't travel around the world; he married early and ran a machine repair shop with Sakura.
Of course, they had now bought a house nearby and lived separately from us. Rider, unable to bear the thought of following Shirō and Sakura under the circumstances, continued living with us.
I also opened a magic scroll shop. Referencing isekai fantasy stories and the various crests I had observed over time, I started making and selling scrolls that could be used without incantation.
Of course, scrolls existed in the Fate universe as well. However, scrolls that activated a magecraft as perfectly as the ones I made were rare. That was because they were less reliable than Magic Crests, and for mages who valued fractions of a second in battle, it was inconvenient to carry around single-use scrolls and pull them out. Consequently, demand was low, and development was slow.
But I competed with a variety of magecraft, which was a limitation of crests, and reduced the defect rate using [Matter Manipulation] and [Control] abilities, increasing reliability. Additionally, I made them about the size of a large card for portability and set a competitive price.
I set up the shop near the Clock Tower in England. At first, the reaction was lukewarm, but after word of mouth spread, it grew into a shop that many mages visited. Rider and Saber handled the sales, and I only handled production.
After some time, I began earning a tremendous amount of money. Because even the Clock Tower recognized my scrolls and started using them as currency. As a result, I also established a certain position within the Mage's Association.
I didn't just run the business. On days off, I traveled around Europe with Rider and Saber, enjoying trips. When we went to Greece, Rider was a bit sad, remembering her sisters.
About two more years passed. Taiga got married and moved away, and I also married Tōsaka Rin. My name had now become Tōsaka Jin.
Rin said that since we were now married, we should move out and live alone, but I opposed it. Because Saber and Rider were not originally from this world and had nowhere else to go.
"Honestly, Saber and Rider are our responsibility. And we need to help Illya until she becomes independent."
"I didn't want this either, but the way Saber and Rider look at you is not normal! And Illya too. Every day she follows you around calling you 'Big brother, big brother,' and it makes me uneasy."
After a long persuasion, we decided to continue living together, and this time we used the annex.
Another two years passed, and it had now been ten years since I came here. Illya had started working at our shop. Because Illya had extensive knowledge of magecraft, she helped me produce the scrolls.
"Jin! Look at me!"
"Huh? Why?"
I stopped making scrolls and came out to the shop because Rin called me.
"The women and I talked… Sigh… this is insane. I feel like I'm the only one losing out. We've decided to accept Saber, so know that."
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes… I know you're the reason Saber hasn't left all this time, and I can't just leave her like that. You don't seem to be crossing the line because of me, but it's not like you have no feelings for her at all."
"Sorry."
"If you're sorry, treat me well."
"Wait a moment."
I went into the shop and gave Rin a perfect copy of the 'Jeweled Sword Zelretch' that I had asked the Jewel Magus to show me.
This was possible because of my [Projection Magecraft] and [Eyes] abilities. Actively using [Matter Manipulation] and [Control], I didn't simply copy it using [Projection Magecraft]; I reproduced it perfectly, as if it were another original.
"This is! The Jeweled Sword!"
"Yeah. I made it to give to you as a present."
Tōsaka Rin received the Jeweled Sword, teared up, and hugged me. She seemed to have agonized quite a bit over this matter.
"Thank you~ I love you."
A few days later, Saber and I held our wedding ceremony at a small church. Because of the attention from others, there weren't many attendees, but Saber didn't seem to mind. Saber and I ate delicious food at a hotel and spent our wedding night together.
The next day, Saber and I went to Glastonbury in England. This was the official location of King Arthur's tomb. As we went inside a large stone pillar, there was a small grave.
"This is it. The place where my grave is said to be."
"Yeah."
"I always wanted to come here."
We looked at the grave in silence for a while, then went outside, spread a cloth under a tree on a hill, and sat down to rest for a while. Then we saw a family that appeared to be tourists taking pictures with their children near the grave.
"Being summoned as a Servant and seeing your own grave… I can't even imagine what that feels like."
"It's nothing special. I'm just grateful that people remember me like this."
"I see."
We rested quietly for a while. Then Saber called out to me.
"Jin."
"Huh?"
"Thank you. And thank you to Rin as well. For giving me such good memories."
"Don't mention it. We should make new memories from now on."
Saber smiled and said,
"Hehe, yes. Let's do that."
