Chapter 327
Ellis stared at Lewisâs face.
âŠ.
The man was dressed casually, looking several years younger than his actual age. People might even believe he was a college student.
His handsome features, just like when he was studying abroad, attracted the attention of the surrounding women.
That guy had been in Clance all this time, and Ellis was aware of it.
He had arranged several meetings, but Lewis had declined every time!
Ellis had thought Lewis was still mourning and couldnât move on. How could he suddenly show up here?
Hesitating, Ellis was just about to approach Lewis when Christina and Victoria came over. âHi, Ellis.â
Since the Olsen familyâs third branch hadnât split, they still considered one another brothers and sisters.
Ellis was the eldest of their generation.
He nodded at his two cousins.
Although they werenât as closely related as blood-related cousins, these two women had grown up with him after all, and Ellis was still fairly warm toward them.
After that, he looked back at Lewis, ready to speak, when Christina asked, âEllis, do you know him?â
Christina pointed at Lewis.
Ellis was about to nod when he saw Lewis imperceptibly shake his head.
Was heâŠnot planning to reveal his identity?
Dressed like that, showing up here, and not revealing who he wasâwhat was he up to?
While Ellis was full of questions, Christina said, âHeâs Keeraâs little boyfriend. I heard that Keera just got divorced and then turned to him for comfort. He seems to be a college student. Ellis, do you know him?â
Ellis was dumbfounded.
He stared at Lewis.
What had he just heard?!
Lewis, the man who had an air of unapproachable arrogance at school, who was lawless and had an air of âleave me aloneâ, had actually fabricated his identity, pretending to be a university student to become Keeraâs gigolo?!
Ellis followed Christinaâs finger..
His gaze first landed on Mary, but he quickly diverted his eyes, then looked toward Keira.
Ellis then looked back at Lewis and twitched the corner of his mouth.
No, it couldnât be, right?
Lewis, who always seemed so respectable, was actually wilder than him in private? Was he taking Keera as a substitute?
No wonder when Keira just passed away, he looked utterly devastated, but today, his eyes seemed brighter.
Had he found Keiraâs substitute?!
Suddenly, Ellis imagined an entire fiction plot in his head, and he didnât know what to make of Lewis.
He felt a mix of feelingsâbetrayed, dismal, sorrowful, and angry.
He felt betrayed on behalf of Keira.
How could Lewis have found someone else just over a month after her death?!
He felt dismal and sorrowful for Lewis.
His wife had been dead for over a month, and he hadnât moved on. He was only able to find a stand-in as his emotional crutch. He must be struggling inside, right? Did he also feel pain and regret but was unable to extricate himself from his obsession because he could see Keeraâs face that resembled Keiraâs?
Lastly, he felt angry for Keera.
Keera, with her love-struck brainâit was no wonder she decisively divorced her husband, but had she already had a backup plan? Did she realize that the gigolo she deeply loved, the man who lured her out of her painful marriage, only saw her as a stand-in?!
For a moment, Ellisâs mind was in complete disarray.
Looking at Lewis, he almost couldnât face him anymore.
This was such a self-tormenting, heart-wrenching storyline!
Unbelievable!
Ellis coughed and then heard Christina ask, âEllis, you havenât answered me yet. Do you know him?â
âUh.â
Ellis covered for Lewis. âNo, I donât.â
Christina breathed a sigh of relief.
She knew it!
How could an ordinary college student, a gigolo, possibly know her brother?
Christina immediately turned to Victoria and avoided the question that was on her mind. âEllis, you just mentioned that the Horton and Olsen families are entering into a marriage alliance⊠Has Mr. Horton come to Clance? When can you arrange a meeting with him?â
Ellis subconsciously looked at Lewis. âLewis? Arrange a meeting for what?â
Christina laughed. âOf course, to meet with Victoria⊠to meet with us. After all, weâll be related by marriage in the future!â
Victoria immediately lowered her head, acting coy and shy.
Ellis frowned. âIs that even necessary?â
Christina and Victoria were slightly startled.
Was there no need to meet before the wedding?
Were the two families aiming for a marriage in the dark?
But even soâŠ
Even if they met, what if they found each other unsuitable? What then?
The alliance would still go aheadâŠ
Christina then reassured Victoria with a glance. âItâs fine if we donât meet. But do you have a photo of Mr. Horton? Let us have a look.â
Ellis was perplexed.
He did have one.
But he couldnât show it!
He cleared his throat. âNo, why would a man keep another manâs photo?â
Victoria felt disappointed once again.
Christina asked, âThen what does Mr. Horton actually look like? Is he very old? He shouldnât be. All members of rich families maintain themselves well, and Iâve heard Mr. Horton is handsome⊠Ellis, what does Mr. Horton really look like?â
Ellis, bothered by her nagging, pointed directly at Lewis. âLewis looks just like him!â
