Chapter 373
At that moment, the Murphy family was in total disarray, and everyone rushed over to Bobby immediately.
âŠ.
Christina was splattered with filth across her face, which unsettled her completely, but because it was from her son, she could bear the extreme disgust.
She hurriedly picked up a tissue and wiped herself clean.
Richard also reached his sonâs side, patted his back, and asked, âWhat happened? Are you alright?â
Bobby, covered in tears and snot, felt only pain and sorrow; he wanted to cry, but vomit spewed out instead.
It wasnât until he felt like heâd emptied everything in his stomach that he started to feel better.
Although Christina had already cleaned herself off by then, she still felt as if there was a lingering smell on her, yet she looked anxiously at the family doctor. âWhatâs wrong with Bobby?â
The family doctor examined Bobby carefully and then asked, âDid Bobby cry today at the kindergarten?â
He glanced at the medical report in his hand; Bobby had a checkup six months ago, and there werenât any issues.
Hearing the doctorâs question, Christina frowned and looked at Bobby, who had calmed down by then.
Bobby looked listless and very uncomfortable; he lay on the couch, clutching his stomach. âMommy, I think Iâm a little hungry.â
Christina immediately said, âIâll ask Sara to make you something to eat right away.â
âI donât want food; I want chips!â Bobby started fussing. âI want chips! Today at school, the teacher wouldnât let me have any and even made me stand outside as a punishment. They still wouldnât give me any chips when I cried. The teacher is so mean; I donât want to go to school anymore!â
Christinaâs face instantly darkened when she heard this. âThey made you stand outside as a punishment?â
The family doctor said, âThat explains it. It was quite windy outside today. If he was crying out there, he must have caught a chill in his stomach. Thatâs probably what caused the vomiting. It shouldnât be anything serious; we can keep an eye on him.â
Although the Murphy family always placed great importance on the child, the fact was that Bobby was a big boy now. Moreover, he often spat up milk as a baby. They had taken him everywhere seeking medical advice, but they never discovered any problems.
As he got older, he occasionally vomited as well, so Richard and Bobbyâs grandmother didnât take it too seriously.
Christina, for some reason, remembered Keeraâs words, ââŠIf he starts vomiting, you must take it seriously.â
This thought barely crossed her mind before Christina shook her head immediately, thinking she must be overreacting!
How could she suddenly believe what Keera said?
Keera wasnât a doctor!
Christina helped Bobby up the stairs, coaxed him into eating dinner, and watched as the child fell asleep before leaving the room.
As soon as she came out, her expression turned gloomy.
Just then, the butler approached and said, âMadam, there are guests from the Olsen family.â
Christina walked briskly into the living room, only to see her third brother, James Olsen standing there.
James was tall and well-built, with a similar appearance to Ellis, except without Ellisâs enchanting aura. Instead, he had a more somber and sinister air about him.
He worked for the Olsen Group, overseeing the project department.
Ellis often smiled, but he looked like a demon king causing chaos in the world.
James, however, was different; although he had a stern look, Christina knew that he despised evil and was always very good to her and Victoria.
Therefore, upon seeing him, Christinaâs eyes immediately welled up with tears.
James came today to deliver an invitation to the Murphy family. For some unknown reason, the Olsen family was to hold a grand banquet a week later. The specific reason was unclear, but their third uncle had assigned tasks to each of the brothers. The Murphy family, being in-laws, definitely needed to be treated with proper courtesy.
But⊠what was wrong with Christina? She looked off.
James immediately frowned. âWhat happened?â
Christina didnât speak; she didnât know how to beginâŠ
Richard said, âWhat happened? Bobby was bullied at school! The new director made him stand crying in the courtyard in the cold wind. The kid just came home and threw up!â
Upon hearing this, James was startled. âIsnât the director of the kindergarten someone from the Olsen family? Isnât Christina in charge?â
Richard then turned his gaze to Christina.
Christina looked down. âNo, I think Ellis changed it.â
James frowned. âWhoâs the new director?â
âKeira South.â
James had some impression of that name; after all, at Ellisâs wedding, she was the bridesmaid. Led on by Christinaâs hints, he immediately misunderstood. âAre you saying Ellis gave the position to Keira out of regard for his wifeâs feelings?â
Christina said, âIt seems like it. Keira is a close friend to Mary, and ever since my brother married Mary, he doesnât consider me, his sister, important anymoreâŠâ
Her eyes became red, and this time it wasnât an act; she genuinely felt aggrieved.
Christina looked at James. âWould you do the same, James?â
James said, âHow could I possibly do that?! No matter what, our family has no daughter, and although you and Victoria were adopted, youâre the same as if you were my real sisters! Iâve always treated you like one! Donât underestimate yourself!â
Tears brimmed in Christinaâs eyes, and she felt even more moved. âJames, before Mary married Ellis, there were indeed some misunderstandings between us. She doesnât like me, and I understand that. Now that sheâs the hostess of the house, itâs okay for me to suffer some grievances, but Mary and Keira shouldnât take it out on the childrenâŠâ
James frowned. âYou canât suffer grievances either! The daughter of the Olsen family should be cherished like a gem. Donât worry about this matter, Iâll help you!â
He stood up. âAlright, itâs late today, and Bobby isnât feeling well, you all should get some rest.â
He patted Christina on the shoulder. âDonât worry. The daughter of the Olsen family cannot be mistreated, even the adopted ones!â
Leaving these words, he headed straight out the door.
After he left, Christina quietly sighed with relief. Given Uncle Olsenâs attitude, it seemed he wouldnât acknowledge Keira as his daughter. In that case, sheâd wait for James to take revenge for her!
With that thought, she went upstairs.
James exited the house and drove home. On the way, his assistant said, âMiss Olsen has always been spoiled. I think her conflict with the lady of the house is quite intense. Mr. James, are you sure you want to get involved?â
James scoffed. âSheâs my sister; of course, Iâll get involved!â
The assistant couldnât help but say, âBut I see Mr. Ellis is very attentive to his wife. He might not support you.â
Jamesâs brows knitted together.
Soon, he arrived home. Seeing the light in the study on the second floor where his uncle was, he smiled. âIf I canât handle my elder brother, Iâll go to my uncle!â
