796 Chapter 795
Charles cracked open his door just a bit, watching as a sneaky figure slipped into the guest room next door.
Waitâwasnât that Peter?
Groggy and confused, Charles wondered what Peter was doing, sneaking into the guest room instead of staying in his own.
Curious, he stepped closer, pressing his ear to the door. Voices trickled through.
A girlâs surprised gasp: âPeter, what are you doing?â
It was Jenkins.
Then came Peterâs low, creepy chuckle. âWhat do you think Iâm doing in the middle of the night? Jenkins, weâre together nowâno need to tiptoe around anymoreâŠâ
Jenkins sounded alarmed. âNo, wait, Iââ
Her protest was quickly muffled, followed by a soft thud as if someone had been tossed onto the bed.
Peter released her, and Jenkins spoke up again, sounding indignant. âThis is the Olsen house, Peter! Youâre not scared at all? What if someone catches us?â
âYouâre my girlfriend. Why does it matter if anyone finds out? Besides, this isnât the first timeâŠweâve already done it at your place, remember?â
âStopâdonât say thatâŠâ
From the sound of it, she was embarrassed and had covered his mouth.
But Peter, emboldened, clearly wasnât about to hold back now.
Soon, noises that really werenât for young ears drifted from the room.
Charlesâs face turned crimson as he quickly straightened up. Heâd suspected something between Peter and Jenkins, but knowing theyâd already gone that farânow, that was unexpected.
A playful voice beside him broke his thoughts. âPeter sure has guts, doesnât he?â
Without thinking, Charles gave a little nod, barely realizing heâd done it.
Oh, he definitely did.
The guest room had thinner walls than theirs, and now, the noise level from inside made it clear Peter was putting in quite an effort.
Charles tsked in disbelief. Just as he was about to turn away, he suddenly froze, meeting Erinâs wide, curious eyes.
He stumbled back a few steps, stammering, âWhatâŠwhat are you doing here?â
Erin had her ear to the door, listening with wide-eyed fascination. âHow far along do you think they are? Clothes off yet?â
Charles felt his face burn hotter. âWhatâs with you? Youâre a girlâdonât you know any shame?â
Erin just shrugged. âItâs a normal, healthy thing. Whatâs there to be embarrassed about?â
Then she looked at him more closely. âOr donât you want to?â
Charlesâs face turned even redder. Growing up abroad, Erin had always been open-minded. To her, these things were justâŠnormal.
But Charles was still innocent when it came to this stuff.
Heâd devoted himself to science for so long, and the most heâd ever done was kiss her. Beyond that? This was a whole new realm.
Looking at her helplessly, he took her by the shoulders and gently pushed her back towards his room. âItâs late. Go to bed already. Stop causing trouble.â
âI wasnât causing troubleâI was looking for you. Donât you really have that kind of need?â
Charlesâs ears went red, but he tried to keep his tone steady. âWeâre not there yet! Maybe when you turn twenty!â
Erin was only nineteen. He was right; she was still a bit young.
Erin sighed in mock disappointment. âAlright. Then for my twentieth birthday, maybe we can try?â
âYouâyou really donât know when to stop!â
Charlesâs face was almost glowing, and he could barely look at her. âHow are you soâŠshameless!â
He turned her around, pushing her into his room before she could look back. âGet in there and sleep. Quit with the nonsense.â
âAlright.â
Erinâs obedient response only made Charlesâs face feel hotter.
He practically sprinted back to his own room after that, making sure to lock the door, his heart racing.
He couldnât risk Erin sneaking in at nightâhe might not be able to resist.
And so, Charles spent the night in a fitful, wide-awake daze, thoughts churning endlessly. When he came down the next morning, Keira Olsen noticed the dark circles under his eyes and couldnât help but ask, âWhat happened to you?â
Erin, biting into her toast, offered a suggestion. âMaybe heâs still shaken from last night.â
Keira raised an eyebrow. âFrom what?â
âOh, Peter went into Jenkinsâs room last night,â Erin explained casually, âand Charles heard them.â
Keira blinked. âHow would you know?â
âI saw it myself, too.â
Keira had nothing to say to that.
Young love these days was truly wild.
As she turned, she spotted Jenkins standing nearby, face flushed. The moment Keira made eye contact, Jenkins tried to slip away
Keira called her back gently. âHold on, Jenkins. I have something to say.â
Jenkins stopped, looking back at her, blushing even harder as Keira stepped closer, giving her an appraising look. Finally, Keira smiled, a touch of mischief in her tone. âGood morning, Lion.â
