Chapter 1900: 1901: Wasting Her Time

Chapter 1900: Chapter 1901: Wasting Her Time

Rong Yan hadn’t left yet, so the issue of them fighting at the company naturally fell to her to handle.

Originally, she could have gone home early to accompany Dabao, but the secretary insisted on calling her over to clean up the mess, and Rong Yan didn’t look pleased.

“Tell me, what’s going on?”

Both of them were puffed up with anger, refusing to look at each other.

Compared to Fu Ya’s arrogance, Xia Xue was clearly more perceptive, understanding how to be a wise person in uncertain times, and immediately smiled apologetically, explaining, “Rong Yan, I was just resting here, didn’t provoke her at all, yet she acted like a mad dog, cursing at me, claiming I was cozying up to rich men at parties. If such a scandal spread and the netizens found out, not only would it damage my image, it would also harm the company’s image. I was upset and argued back a few times, and then she got physical.”

Fu Ya, seeing her switch the blame, furiously yelled, “You started it! Don’t accuse me! Phony girl!”

Rong Yan rubbed her temples, her watery gaze fixed on them, directly asking the angry woman, “Did you curse her first?”

Fu Ya had already guessed she wouldn’t be on her side, but seeing Rong Yan ‘clearly suppressing her,’ she turned her head, both unwilling and indignant, “She provoked me first. My assistant and I were having a conversation, and she started to insult me.”

Xia Xue immediately questioned, “What did I insult you with, tell me.”

“You insulted me by…” Fu Ya struggled to remember, realizing Xia Xue was quite cunning, only making her feel sick with words without specifically insulting her, “You…”

Xia Xue chuckled, “Rong Yan is right here, didn’t you say I insulted you? Tell me, what did I say?”

“…” Fu Ya glared angrily at her.

She smiled indifferently, continuing to speak, “You can’t say it, can you? I didn’t insult you at all! I just casually mentioned a couple of things, telling you not to be so temperamental like you are now, as it’s not good for cooperation and gives the company a bad reputation. Then you make up rumors saying I often attend dinners and have shady deals with wealthy people. Fu Ya, we’re all part of the same company, what benefit do you get from tarnishing my reputation? People in the same company should love and help each other. I’m not asking you to help me, but at least you don’t need to tarnish me like this.”

“You!”

Fu Ya held back her anger, wanting to say her comment about accompanying people at dinners was true.

But even in her anger, she knew this woman was intentionally provoking her, hoping she’d speak impulsively and offend someone.

Her face red with frustration, she held back, feeling both aggrieved and uncomfortable, “Stop trying to spice things up! Yes, I cursed you, but only because you provoked me first, and I only retaliated when I couldn’t hold back anymore!”

“I didn’t provoke you. I just made a couple of remarks, who would’ve thought you’d get so worked up and throw your weight around at work too.”

“And whom am I throwing my weight around?”

“Whom? Come on, everyone in the company knows you’re the hardest to please, even though you’re just starting out, you make more demands than even Jiang Xinyue. Today you curse this one, tomorrow you scold that one, you’ve already changed seven or eight assistants. Yet you say you’re not throwing your weight around.”

Seeing that they were about to start arguing again.

Rong Yan’s dark eyes flashed, impatiently calling out to them, “Have you quarreled enough? Do you want me to bring you two chairs and a cup of tea so you can keep bickering?”

Xia Xue’s expression changed slightly, she tucked her tail between her legs, and weakly replied, “Sorry, Rong Yan.”

Even a foolish Fu Ya understood who was the boss of the company, and despite her unwillingness, she lowered her head just like Xia Xue, dejected: “…I didn’t mean to argue with her, she provoked me. You saw it, I didn’t say anything about her, she’s been bad-mouthing me all along.”
