Chapter 29: That Shameful Past
By the time Chen Wangu and the others arrived at the entrance of Wangshu Inn, they happened to run into Lu Xunxian and his group just as they were coming out.
“Since you’re awake, come along with us.”
Lu Xunxian looked at them and spoke. After thinking about it the entire night before, he still had not managed to come to any conclusion, so he decided not to think about it anymore and to simply let things take their natural course.
Chen Wangu naturally had no objections, but when he saw Xu Tianxian following beside them, he frowned and asked irritably, “Why are you tagging along?”
“What? I’m the local host here. I know the Seven-Colored Bee Kingdom extremely well. Am I not allowed to come?”
Xu Tianxian replied with complete confidence.
What a joke. He had already seen just how powerful Lu Xunxian was, so of course he wanted to be on good terms with him.
Although, with his talent, Ascension was not an especially difficult thing for him, what about after Ascension? Up there, he would still need someone powerful to rely on.
Seeing this, Chen Wangu did not stop him any further. He could more or less guess what little schemes were going through Xu Tianxian’s mind.
On the way, while Chen Wangu and Xu Tianxian were taking the two little ones around to play, Wangcai came to Lu Xunxian’s side and spoke.
“Master, I saw that person.”
Hearing that, Lu Xunxian froze for a moment, then said, “No need to mind her. If you see her again, stay as far away as possible.”
“I understand, Master.”
Wangcai nodded in agreement.
At this moment, his heart was wildly speculating. Just who was that woman, for Master to be this wary of her?
Then he glanced at the two little ones in the distance, and he already had a faint guess in his heart.
But he did not say anything.
Since Master had already chosen to handle things this way, there was no need for him to speak of it.
Very soon, the ten-day journey through the Seven-Colored Bee Kingdom came to an end.
After it was over, Lu Xunxian planned to take the two children to the next scenic spot, the Skyborne Primordial Wilds in the Northern Desert.
Standing at the exit of the Seven-Colored Bee Kingdom, Xu Tianxian looked at them and said in a somewhat regretful tone, “What a pity. I still have things to deal with. Otherwise, I would have accompanied you to the Skyborne Primordial Wilds.”
“Oh, spare me. We can go on our own. It’s not as if I don’t have friends in the Northern Desert.”
Chen Wangu showed him no mercy at all and mocked him on the spot.
Xu Tianxian shot Chen Wangu a glare, then looked at Lu Xunxian and said, “Daoist Friend Lu, if you ever come to the Seven-Colored Bee Kingdom again, remember to contact me. When the time comes, let me properly play the host.”
“All right. Certainly.”
Lu Xunxian did not refuse and accepted the Sound-Transmission Jade Talisman Xu Tianxian handed him.
After that, Lu Xiaoyao and Lu Qingyun waved to Xu Tianxian in unison.
“Goodbye, Uncle Xu.”
“Yes, goodbye. Next time you come to Uncle Xu’s place, Uncle Xu will make something delicious for you.”
Xu Tianxian said with a broad smile.
Only then did he watch as Lu Xunxian and his group rode Wangcai toward the Northern Desert.
At the same time, Feng Qingyu and Gu Tiansheng had also finished their time touring the Seven-Colored Bee Kingdom. As they arrived at the exit, they happened to catch sight of Lu Xunxian’s group leaving.
Only, because Wangcai was flying too quickly, Feng Qingyu had merely caught a vague glimpse of Lu Xunxian.
But with just that single glance, Feng Qingyu’s brows tightly knitted together.
“Did I see that wrong? That person looked like Lu Xunxian.”
“But that can’t be possible, can it? Shouldn’t they all be dead?”
Feng Qingyu thought to herself.
Over the years, whenever she had the time, she would occasionally use the Bloodline Tracking Art, afraid that Lu Xunxian and the others might still be alive.
But the Bloodline Tracking Art had never produced any results.
As time passed, her heart had gradually settled, and she came to believe that that shameful stretch of her past had already gone by.
But now, it seemed that perhaps it had not.
At the side, Gu Tiansheng noticed that something was off about Feng Qingyu and stepped forward with a concerned expression.
“Qingyu, what’s wrong?”
“I’m fine. It’s probably just that these past few days of traveling around the Seven-Colored Bee Kingdom have worn me out a little.”
Feng Qingyu looked at Gu Tiansheng and gently shook her head.
Although Feng Qingyu and Gu Tiansheng had spent nearly every day together during this period and their relationship had improved quite a bit, she still had not let Gu Tiansheng get what he wanted.
After all, only what could not be obtained would be cherished more. Once obtained, it would be easy to grow tired of it.
And there was another important reason why she believed Gu Tiansheng would not give up on her so easily.
It was that her talent was exceptional. She was not some decorative vase. She also possessed stunning beauty, along with the graceful and alluring bearing of a married woman.
Added to that was her status as the Second Elder’s disciple. Gu Tiansheng would not give up on her, and she intended to keep him firmly in the palm of her hand the entire time.
But now, after seeing Lu Xunxian, panic had risen in her heart.
If Gu Tiansheng discovered that shameful chapter of her past, she did not know whether he would still continue to pursue her.
“I’m sorry, Qingyu. It’s my fault. I’ll be more careful next time.”
Gu Tiansheng looked apologetic and hurriedly tried to comfort her.
“All right, let’s head back.”
Feng Qingyu looked at Gu Tiansheng. Right now, she had no time to care about anything else. She had to return first and find her master before deciding what to do.
However, her master was currently in Seclusion at a critical juncture in an attempt to break through to the Saint Emperor Realm, so Feng Qingyu feared that she might not even be able to contact her master.
On the Heaven-Devouring Tiger, Lu Xunxian naturally sensed Feng Qingyu’s aura, but he did not care.
So what if she had seen him? It was not as though she could find him anyway.
And after so much careful thought during this period, Lu Xunxian had also come to understand many things.
Sooner or later, he was going to have to tell the children about their mother.
When that time came, he would let them decide for themselves.
Hiding the truth from them was not really for their own good. It was simply because they did not yet possess the ability to distinguish right from wrong.
Meanwhile, in the Central Plains.
The Heavenly Demon Saint Emperor suddenly stopped a cultivator at the King Realm.
Before the man could even react, the Heavenly Demon Saint Emperor struck at once, seizing his head and beginning a Soul Search.
Very soon, the events of that day were laid bare before his eyes.
But when he looked at Lu Xunxian in the scene, the Heavenly Demon Saint Emperor could not help frowning.
“Who exactly is this person? Why has this Venerable One never seen him before?”
The Heavenly Demon Sect’s intelligence network was equally terrifying. Whenever a Saint Emperor appeared, information about them would reach the Heavenly Demon Saint Emperor within ten years at most.
Yet the Heavenly Demon Saint Emperor had never seen this man before.
Could it be that he was a newly emerged Saint Emperor from within the last ten years?
However, judging from the methods he had used, he did not seem like some newly risen Saint Emperor. At the very least, he had to possess the strength of the Late Saint Emperor Realm.
“Hmph. No matter who you are, since you dared kill my younger brother, even if you are the master of a Sacred Land, this Venerable One will still kill you!”
With those words, the Heavenly Demon Saint Emperor’s figure flashed as he rushed toward the various Sacred Lands.
He intended to use the major Sacred Lands to help him find the enemy who had killed his younger brother.
As for whether they would help him or not, that was never even a consideration for the Heavenly Demon Saint Emperor.
If they refused, then he would not mind leading the Heavenly Demon Sect back into the Central Plains.
Presumably, if he used that as a threat, they would be more than willing to help him find the murderer of his younger brother.
