Chapter 1102 - Liar

Throughout the conversation, Li Jingjing seemed to become slightly agitated as if the past memories caused bitter emotions to well up inside her.

She found a chance to slip away and bade them goodbye before walking back to her apartment.

Yang Chen took a deep breath as he watched her retreating silhouette. He turned around to look at Lin Ruoxi and realized that she was staring back at him too.

“Why are you looking at me like that? I’ve been well behaved lately and I don’t think I’ve done anything to anger you.” Yang Chen chuckled.

“Do I look like I’m angry?”

“Why the long face?”

“Didn’t you hear her? She said she can’t forgive herself.” Lin Ruoxi sighed.

Yang Chen nodded. “Yeah but it’s not like we can do anything about it.”

Lin Ruoxi rolled her eyes at him. “Are you feigning ignorance or you’re really oblivious? She’s afraid of going back because she could not get over you. She still likes you but she knows she can’t ever be with you so she chose to stay far away from you.”

Li Jingjing’s flickering gaze showed up in Yang Chen’s mind and he was startled for a moment before smiling bitterly. “Dear, let’s not talk about this anymore. Jingjing is still young and she just graduated. She’s going to have a bright future ahead of her and I shouldn’t have anything to do with her. Don’t overthink things.”

“If it wasn’t for her parents, would you have dated her behind my back?” Lin Ruoxi asked suddenly.

Yang Chen was taken aback and he shook his head. “Why would you think like that? You should believe in Jingjing even if you don’t believe in me. She was bewitched by Zeng Xinlin. I’m sure she will never do that kind of thing herself!”

“Hmph, you’re defending her. I don’t even need to think about the answer.” Lin Ruoxi stepped onto his feet angrily before walking back upstairs.

Yang Chen was disappointed. His past had made arguments like this unwinnable for him.

However, Yang Chen never expected to meet Li Jingjing in Seoul this time. He thought he would no longer see her again but this meeting evoked his past memories and feelings.

Also, Jane came to Seoul too when they had just said goodbye to each other. Even though she was here to treat Park Cheon, he couldn’t possibly ignore her!

Yang Chen’s head was throbbing. He wished that this honeymoon trip wouldn’t turn into a trip filled with jealousy.

At the same time, Park Cheon was sitting on the sofa in the study room.

He was flipping through Zhenxiu’s study progress. Other than learning Korean, Zhenxiu also had to answer questions that were related to management.

Even though Park Cheon wasn’t highly educated, he had years of experience which more than made up for theoretical knowledge. He just needed to point out a few important points and that would be sufficient to enlighten Zhenxiu.

He was explaining some points to Zhenxiu but he soon realized that she was distracted. Her eyes were looking elsewhere while her lips turned into a pout.

“Zhenxiu, what are you thinking about? It’s rare for me to have the energy to teach you.” Park Cheon wasn’t pleased.

Zhenxiu pouted. “Grandfather, I don’t want to marry the disgusting guy.”

Park Cheon was startled at first but a chuckle escaped his lips after. “You’re still thinking about that? How can I let you marry him when you can also tell that he isn’t a good person?”

Zhenxiu’s worry turned into joy when she heard this. “Then you won’t agree with the engagement right?!”

“Of course not.” Park Cheon put down the papers and held Zhenxiu’s hand. “Grandfather loves you so much so how can I let you marry a brat like him? But, the Gong clan is an affluent clan and his grandfather was a close friend. I wouldn’t even want to meet them if it wasn’t for the friendship. Didn’t you hear me? I said we will discuss it after my surgery which means I’m dragging it as long as possible. They can’t do anything.”

“I know you won’t disappoint me!” Zhenxiu giggled and hugged his neck.

She pecked his cheek, and Park Cheon responded with a laugh while shaking his head. “They think that I’m old and foolish, inviting Lee Eunjeong for me. It’s true that I need a good surgeon but they are underestimating me for thinking that I will owe them a favor because of this. We will pay all the fee but they can stop dreaming about having my precious Zhenxiu!”

Zhenxiu nodded. “Yes! They must be thinking that they can take over our properties by marrying me. So evil!”

“You’re pretty bright yourself.” Park Cheon sounded delighted. “I’m so glad that you returned to my side. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely find you someone who has a great personality, capable and handsome to be your husband. Those fools have to stay away from you!”

Zhenxiu felt awkward at this. “Grandfather, I’ll take care of this myself. It’s the modern world now, how can I let you take care of this?”

Park Cheon asked curiously, “Why, do you have someone in your mind? Don’t try to lie to me, I’ve lived long enough to see through you.”

Zhenxiu blushed and shook her head vigorously. “No, I don’t like anyone. Don’t overthink it.”

Park Cheon’s gaze turned deeper. “Zhenxiu, love isn’t a game. It doesn’t matter if he’s poor, ugly, or dumb as long as you like him. The only thing that matters is that he has a great personality and a clean background. But you can’t choose a Casanova or a married man.”

Zhenxiu’s face turned pale and she forced herself to shake her head. “Stop saying this, I won’t like that kind of person.”

Park Cheon nodded his head. “I believe in you. Your mother leaving was my biggest regret and now that I think about it, your father wasn’t half bad. I’ll definitely support you if you chose a normal person.”

Zhenxiu forced a smile and responded with a soft voice.

Outside the mansion, the chilly wind blew the fallen leaves everywhere. Even though the lights in Gangnam were brightly lit, the view still seemed especially bleak.

North of the Park mansion, a long hair beauty was seen walking under the streetlights with her head lowered.

Li Jingjing’s eyes felt moist as she strolled down the street. She didn’t even notice the path she was taking.

She thought she could forget about him naturally as time passed but when she saw him again, she realized she was just kidding herself!

Li Jingjing had fallen for him at their first meeting two years ago. Her feelings for him continued to grow stronger instead of dissipating over a long period of time.

She tried to act nonchalantly in front of him but she couldn’t stop herself from looking at him.

If it wasn’t for Lin Ruoxi, she might have hugged him without any hesitation!

She wanted to tell him how much she missed him, how much she had been dying to meet him even though she knew she was nothing to him.

However, Lin Ruoxi’s kindness was suffocating her and she couldn’t stop beating herself up over it.She was a complete liar. Ironically, no one fell for her lies…

At this moment, a car showed up and pulled the emergency brake next to her!

The door opened and three bulky men got out of the car. They caught Li Jingjing and pressed a tissue against her mouth!

Li Jingjing was still engrossed in her thoughts and she was caught before she even realized anything!

She didn’t even whimper or resist before she was knocked out unconscious by inhaling the substances in the tissue.

The men tossed her into her backseat and closed the doors before driving off immediately.

No one noticed this scene other than the barking dogs…
