Chapter 720: Chapter 257: Destroying the World
Within the world, Laine raised his sword, and before him was the Void Power of Amon-Ra.
Meanwhile, outside the world, almost simultaneously, the World Power from Chaos descended once more.
There was no slight deviation, or rather, the World Power summoned by Mesâs resurrection in the Mortal Realm and the timing of Laine drawing his sword were inherently coordinated.
If it had been a moment earlier, the main structure of Hemenuâs world would have been destroyed by Chaos, and the imagery of the worldâs end would not have landed in his hands as intended.
If it had been a moment later, he would have been contending against everything left of Hemenu alone. Even with his sword having reached an unbelievable realm under the Creation Forceâs blessing, he could never have achieved this.
So the timing was neither too early nor too late, in this battlefield of god against god, in the combat between worlds, the first to meet was the Source Power piercing through the Endless Void, overlapping with Hemenuâs outermost structure.
But this time, it wasnât the outermost âAbsolute Voidâ that collided against it, but the second barrier, the âBoundless Darkness.â
Hissâ
There was no specific sound, for sound was swallowed in the darkness; no traces of impact existed, for such overlap and collision did not occur in a concrete material structure.
The never-ending darkness scattered and regrouped, its size continuously changing.
To the world, distance was meaningless; it could be infinitely large or infinitely small. It was the world itself that defined size; if there wasnât a force surpassing it, then the âboundlessâ of Boundless Darkness was indeed genuine.
Even if a person had eternal life, endless time, he would never be able to walk from one end of the Dark Domain to the other.
This was the barrier of a world, protecting everything inside. But under the force of another more powerful world, everything was rewritten.
The world defined everything from nothing, and so where Chaosâs force flowed, the Order defined by Hemenuâs will was distorted and altered.
Like every previous instance, everything shrouded in darkness was easily pierced through, and the same fate soon befell the following âEndless Space.â
Of course, throughout this process, Chaosâs force was also diminished; it was, after all, an Alien Realm, and such a forceful assault led to greater consumption.
The normal annexation between worlds should start step by step from the periphery. Strip away the otherâs power, erode their traces, and use oneâs own concepts to cover and reorganize, ultimately making it a part of oneself.
Yet such a forceful intrusion into the core of a world was different, like not breaking through a countryâs defense yet diving alone deep into its heart. Not only would the dispatched force suffer continuous depletion, but the impact of the losses would also be very limited.
Unless one could directly conquer the enemyâs âImperial Capital,â slay the emperor and the minister, leaving it leaderless, otherwise, it would be a failed operation.
This was the real situation of the war between the two worlds before; although Chaosâs power had pierced through four layers of barriers and penetrated into the Sea of Origin, Hemenu at that time could still endure for thousands of long years.
With four layers of barriers diminishing consecutively, the All Gods ultimately blocked the invasion from the Alien Realm. The seemingly perilous situation was, in fact, not as dangerous.
But now, within a short time, everything had changed.
One of the four layers of barriers was gone, all Nine Pillars Spirit fell, and thus when Chaosâs power shattered the âPrimordial Waterâ again, its remaining force was still deadly enough.
Above Hemenuâs Sea of Origin, the previously withdrawn dark tide surged back instantly.
The golden seawater offered almost no resistance, succumbing step by step under the relentless forceâs strikes.
In the void, the worldâs will made its final struggle. Amon-Ra felt a strong urging; if he did nothing, he would surely be the first to die before the world shattered.
So no longer delaying, for the worldâs final demand, Amon-Ra chose to meet it.
In an instant, heaven and earth changed color. The void above the Primordial Water was severed, and everything, tangible and intangible, entered a state between existence and nonexistence.
Life and death overlapped, positive and negative opposed.
If future researchers beheld this scene, they might believe they saw the truth. However, all these appearances were but the corners of Absolute Void manifesting in matter.
âAll things return to the void⊠this is the power of the world!â
Stretching out his hands, Amon-Ra faced the sword edge that seemed to want to end the world.
He already understood the power of the Outer God, and he knew Apophisâs ability well.
The power of the Eight Deities was so mighty, yet now he held it in his grasp. After today, he would surely greet rebirthâ
ââSlashâ
He heard the sound, or maybe he didnât.
Without any pause, the magic sword swept across, severing everything in front.
Raâs hands were cut off at the elbow, and a nameless horror suddenly welled up inside.
Wisps of black energy twirled, under some unimaginably powerful forceâs blessing, the energy wrapped around the severed area seemed to possess incredible might, rendering all of Raâs original power useless.
In an instant, Amon-Ra felt as though his existence was being erased, past and future becoming indistinct.
He didnât know what this was, nor did he understand the Creation Force, he merely felt confusion.
What was this situation, if such power existed, what had we been fighting about before?
