Chapter 1523: Chapter 824: The Coming War!
The Kennedy familyâs convoy drove towards Storm City, and from a distance, Qing Chen could see the aerial fortress standing against the sky.
The black buildings on the ground resembled spears piercing the sky and waves, while the Storm Fortress above seemed like a steadfast island.
Intimidating the millions of creatures below the island.
Qing Chen sat in the co-driverâs seat of the off-road vehicle, listening to Blue Mountain and another rich second-generation talk in the car: âSpeaking of business, the Giant Dynasty ventured out of the forest for the first time to launch a surprise attack on the Roosevelt Kingdomâs mineral resources. Itâs said that King Roosevelt wants to eliminate the potential threats before the eastern expedition, hitting the giants hard enough so that they wonât recover for three years. By the time they recover, the Eastern Continent will already belong to us.â
The rich second-generation next to him said, âWhy not just drop a few nuclear bombs on the Eastern Continent? Solve everything, it wouldnât be so troublesome.â
Blue Mountain laughed helplessly: âWe still have to settle there in the future; if you pollute it with nuclear fallout, how will people live there? Nukes canât be used there.â
Qing Chenâs heart tightened; the Eastern Continent Federation had never researched nuclear bombs, while the West Continent had secretly developed them. These are weapons of mass destruction.
If it really came down to the wire, the Roosevelt Kingdom would indeed use them.
Where are the nuclear bombs? They must be destroyed before war breaks out.
Blue Mountain said, âYou know, the titles of marquis and baron are not hereditary. My fatherâs hope is for my brother and I to participate in this war. Heâll have experts protect me, helping me earn merits sufficient to inherit his marquis title. When the eastern expedition begins, Iâll have the opportunity to ascend to the Storm Aerial Fortress, which is the safest place.â
The Roosevelt Kingdom is about to start the war, and the nobles are already making plans for their children.
How do you earn a title? By accumulating military achievements.
Therefore, when war begins, itâs a carnival for the nobles. Families like Kennedy can remain standing despite non-hereditary circumstances by mastering their survival skills.
Blue Mountain enlisted in the army, escorted by a vote of experts from the clan, ultimately earning a pile of military merits to become a newly minted marquis.
Once the eastern expedition starts, those with lower status will certainly be responsible for ground combat, while those with higher status will ride in floating ships or even aerial fortresses.
The army suffers greatly, exposed to the elements and lacking supplies, but the air force is different. Being in an A-Class floating ship, one could even use virtual warehouses and virtual glasses, indulging in ice cream during hot summer battles.
The air force is less prone to death.
Therefore, Kennedy Marquis has calculated everything.
King Roosevelt has already promised that once the Eastern Continent is conquered, the four dukes will become eight. As for filling the vacancies, theyâll rely on their own capabilities.
On the West Continent, to gain status, you risk your life for it.
Blue Mountain suddenly said to Qing Chen, âButler, Iâve spoken to my father, and when the time comes, I want you to accompany me. You saved my father back then, and with you beside me now, I feel at ease. Perhaps you could earn some merits too, and we could get you a baron title for fun.â
Qing Chen smiled and said, âProtecting the young master is my duty; I will do my best.â
Though he said this, Qing Chen was thinking that simply becoming a baron might not be enough; why not aim for a marquis? If the war lasts long enough, maybe he could become a dukeâŠ
If the West Continent erupts into internal conflict, who knows, he might even become king for fun.
When he met friends from the Eastern Continent again, while they were still rigorously preparing to battle the West Continent, he would have already become the boss thereâŠ
Of course, he was joking, but obtaining the noble status required to buy the top-tier robots seemed within reach.
Qing Chen casually asked, âDid master say when weâll depart?â
Blue Mountain laughed, âSome have already set out, like the one who led the last war, King. Now Duke of Storm City is very unhappy with him and has sent him and the Time Traveler to the battlefield to atone for past offenses. But we donât need to rush; thereâs at least half a monthâs time, we can go later.â
Hearing Kingâs name, Qing Chen felt a new goal emerging in his heart.

The vehicle slowly drove into the city; Storm City didnât even have simple city walls, looking more like the Outer World.
No identification checks, no visas required, free entry and exit.
Storm City had enough confidence that if anyone tried sneaking in, theyâd surely be caught by ubiquitous surveillance.
After entering the city, Blue Mountain and the others became much more subdued, fearing they might say the wrong thing and give the Arbiters a handle against them.
Kennedy Marquisâs manor was immense, and Blue Mountain lived in a villa in the northeastern corner of the manor.
The main villa was large, but because more than a dozen wives of the Marquis and various female slaves lived there, usually, Kennedy Marquisâs sons over 8 years old werenât allowed there unless summonedâŠ
Qing Chen couldnât help but marvel at how wild it was in the West Continent; a marquis could open a harem, like a palace.
Everyone could only live scattered throughout the corners of the manor, and Qing Chen was Blue Mountainâs personal butler. The entire manor also had a chief butler, supposedly a high-level transcendent, a Caucasian.
Someone like Qing Chen, of Asian descent, couldnât possibly become chief butler in his lifetime. Even trying to be a good servant in the Marquis Manor depended on oneâs race.
Now, when hearing âhigh-level transcendent,â Qing Chen felt indifferent. After all, this butler couldnât be a demigod, and since he wasnât, there wasnât much to fearâŠ
