After a moment of hesitation, Soi Fonâs desire to grow stronger won out. She decided to follow Shinâs advice.
She would sneak into Hueco Mundo. Just as Shin said, as long as she wasnât discovered, everything would be fine.
It was the first time Soi Fon, the ever-obedient girl, had ever considered such a thing. But the thought of breaking the rules... it sent a thrill through her.
Everyone has a rebellious streak. The more something is forbidden, the more you want to do it.
"Youâre going to Hueco Mundo? IâM COMING TOO."
"Like hell you are."
Shin bluntly pushed Yoruichi back.
"If you donât let me go, Iâll report you." Yoruichi played her trump card.
"Oh? Getting bold, are we? You think you can report me? Go right ahead."
Shin shrugged. Was he supposed to be scared of Yoruichi reporting him? Besides, would she really do it?
It was probably just an empty threat. And even if she did report it, it would be useless.
He created two Shadow Clones. One of them used the Transformation Jutsu to take on Soi Fonâs appearance.
"What are you going to report? Weâre right here in the Seireitei, arenât we?" Shin said to Yoruichi with a grin.
"Letâs go, Soi Fon."
Shin led the astonished Soi Fon out of the Second Division barracks and into Hueco Mundo, using Yomotsu Hirasaka. No one would ever know.
"That bastard," Yoruichi muttered, annoyed that Shin and Soi Fon had left her behind for Hueco Mundo.
"Iâll settle the score with him when they get back. And my little bee... she just agreed to run off with Shin without a word."
Thinking of Soi Fon, Yoruichi couldnât help but feel a pang of jealousy. Soi Fon hadnât even invited her. Their relationship seemed to be getting closer and closer. Soi Fon used to idolize her, but now... now it seemed sheâd switched her admiration to that guy Shin.
Just the thought left a sour taste in her mouth. It felt like someone was poaching her territory, and she didnât like it one bit.
âââââââââââ
Meanwhile, Shin and Soi Fon had arrived in Hueco Mundo. It was her first time here, and she looked around with endless curiosity.
"So this is Hueco Mundo??"
Soi Fon scanned her surroundings warily. She knew Hueco Mundo was a dangerous place. She had learned about it at the academy and had even hunted Hollows for her graduation exam.
Donât let her age fool you...
Soi Fon had already graduated from the ShinâĆ Academy and joined the Second Division. She was just a regular squad member for now, but her skills were already close to a 3rd Seatâs.
After all, Yoruichi had taught her a series of powerful techniques like ShunkĆ, advanced Shunpo, and Utsusemi. Shin had also taught her some KidĆ spells she knew.
"Thatâs right, this is Hueco Mundo. But you donât need to be so worried. With me here, youâre not in any real danger."
Shin gently patted Soi Fonâs head. The gesture made her blush and lower her gaze. If Yoruichi saw this, sheâd definitely scream that her little bee had defected.
"The number of Hollows in Hueco Mundo is growing."
Shin led Soi Fon in search of Menos Grande. For her to practice on, Gillian-class were the best choice. If she fought one-on-one, her speed should be enough to take one down. In a head-on clash of strength, sheâd lose, but Soi Fon was an agile assassin, not a frontline brawler.
"Three Menos ahead. Iâll take care of two. You handle the last one."
Shin spotted three Gillian lumbering toward them. They were just cannon fodder in Hueco Mundo. Shin crushed two of them with his Spiritual Pressure alone.
"WHAâ" Soi Fon froze, staring at Shin in utter shock.
He... crushed a Gillian with just his Spiritual Pressure? What kind of power was that? She couldnât even imagine it. When would she ever possess such immense Spiritual Pressure?
Truthfully, she probably never would, even in a few hundred years. Talent is a factor you canât overcome with hard work alone.
Soi Fon was talented, a genius even. But thereâs a world of difference between a genius and a true monster. Her talent couldnât compare to a real prodigy.
"What are you waiting for? That Gillian is already attacking."
Shinâs reminder snapped Soi Fon back to reality. She nodded, immediately releasing her Shikai and charging the Gillian. Against a Menos, she had to use her Shikai, or she wouldnât stand a chance.
She appeared behind the Gillian in an instant and lunged, her small ZanpakutĆ plunging into its body. The blade couldnât cause much damage, but it left behind a HĆmonka mark. If she could hit the same spot twice, she could kill the Gillian instantly. Just as she was about to strike again, the Gillian spun around and swatted at her.
"Still not agile enough." Shin shook his head. If it were him, he could have struck twice before the Gillian even reacted.
"
Utsusemi
." She used the technique to dodge the blow, otherwise she would have been injured.
"Itâs so fast!" Soi Fon exclaimed.
In Shinâs eyes, the Gillian was slow. Its massive size guaranteed it. But to Soi Fon, its reaction time was incredible. It was a matter of perspective, a difference in power.
"If you canât kill it in one go, this is going to be a tough fight for you," Shin said. With her ZanpakutĆ, Suzumebachi, a one-shot kill was the fastest solution. If not, it would turn into a direct confrontation, and the outcome would be uncertain. Just like now, with Soi Fon in the awkward position of an assassin fighting a Gillian head-on.
Shin understood. Soi Fon had very little combat experience. It was fine. With more battles, her strength would gradually improve.
âCaptain Shin is watching. I canât lose to this thing. I have to prove myself and earn his approval!!â she thought silently.
She launched another attack, dodging the Gillianâs slow Cero.
