Fan Wubing slightly furrowed his brows. Was it possible that Guan Xin had become... a bit insecure? This wasnāt right. He had promised He Youyi to take good care of her. Her cultivation had already reached the Middle Stage of Integration, and with a bit more effort, she might reach Mahayana within two years. But why was her personality becoming even more concerning?
Yan Hui smiled and said, "Miss Guan Xin is world-renowned as a talent in the Literary Dao. How could your understanding be useless?"
These words seemed to have struck a nerve in Guan Xin. Her slender neck suddenly tensed, and she became flustered, saying, "Iām sorry!" and then ran out.
Yan Hui was stunned, "Did I... did I say something wrong?"
Luo Qingyao, who usually didnāt get along with Yan Hui, surprisingly didnāt retort him, "Itās probably... related to me." She was full of regret, "I spoke a bit harshly to her earlier."
Miss Luo, being a responsible person, decisively said, "Iāll go apologize to her."
Fan Wubing pondered for a moment and stopped her, "No, itās not related to you, or to any of us. Itās her own issue, donāt concern yourself with it."
Actually, Guan Xin hadnāt gone far and was just hiding around the corner outside the door.
Hearing these words, it felt like something was blocking her chest, making it hard to breathe properly.
After a while, Fan Wubing went outside.
Guan Xin quickly turned her head, pretending to be looking at the scenery.
Fan Wubing wasnāt interested in exposing her and said, "Iāve heard you came from Wenxin Heaven, just a monument away from becoming a Saint. I was thinking, did you come to Changsheng Continent to erect that monument? If those Saints and Great Saints in Wenxin Heaven were truly educating you properly, theyād surely realize youāre still far from that."
Guan Xin looked at the sea, the tassels around her dress swaying like waves. Her plain face showed a bit of bewilderment, and with a dull nasal tone, she said:
"You should have accepted my life-binding literary aura back then. If you had, after vindicating Snow Mountain, with such great achievements, you could have become a Saint. You could have sat peacefully in Wenxin Heaven, and every time scholars in the world read your classics, they would have added a trace of literary aura to your Literary Dao."
"Is that why they wanted to gild you and make you a Saint, even knowing youāre still far from it?"
Guan Xin remained silent, not answering.
Fan Wubing stood beside her and said, "And as for He Youyi, heās already a Tribulation Immortal, yet his Literary Dao Realm is only at the erudite scholar level. Why? Isnāt he qualified to become a Saint? Given his achievements and efforts at Wild Horse Academy over the past thousand years, he should have become a Saint, even a Great Saint by now. For someone so extraordinary, the conditions must be extraordinarily strict. Yet a person who canāt even distinguish between robbery and rescue is set to become a Saint."
Fan Wubing looked at the sky, "Is the value of becoming a Saint too high, or too low?"
Guan Xin suddenly erupted, "I never said I wanted to be a Saint!" She stared hard at Fan Wubing like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
Fan Wubingās gaze was like a sharp knife, his words like a swift blade, "Then go tell those people in Wenxin Heaven. Tell them that you, Guan Xin, are just a puppet, a bookworm who can do nothing but read. Tell them you canāt even have a decent conversation with people, that your so-called pragmatism is just bits of wisdom pieced together from various classics and the Holy Sage Book!"
Guan Xin was gritting her teeth so hard they were nearly crushed, "Fine, Iāll go right now!"
She finished speaking and stepped into the air, ready to fly to Wenxin Heaven.
But her cultivation was only at the Middle Stage of Integration, and in the depths of the Sea of Eternal Life, the immense energy and pressure of the Dao were like mountains pressing down on her. After flying a mere hundred or so feet, she plunged into the sea.
Fan Wubing flashed to her side, grabbed her, and brought her back, tossing her onto the deck of the Immortal Fishing Boat.
She was drenched and started crying helplessly and pitifully.
Fan Wubing said coldly, "If you want to die, wait until you reach Mahayana. I promised He Youyi to watch over you until you reach the Mahayana Realm." He stepped into the air towards the Da Chun Profound Realm, "Remember to cultivate after youāve cried enough."
After he finished speaking, he was about to head into the Da Chun Profound Realm.
Guan Xin lifted her head and cried out loud, "What I meant was, donāt easily feel the eternal joy in the Da Chun Profound Realm. Once youāve felt it, you wonāt easily be able to leave. Also... be sure to keep track of time!"
Fan Wubing looked back at her, transformed into a flash of light, and entered the trunk of Da Chun.
Xianchan came over, bent down to wipe the tears from the corners of Guan Xinās eyes, and handed her a pastry.
Guan Xin cried even harder. She didnāt want to be misunderstood by Xianchan, so she stuffed the pastry into her mouth, crying and chewing. Because her throat was choked, she coughed violently when swallowing, her face turning bright red from the choking.
Xianchan handed her some water.
The teardrops fell on the deck, shattering into small puddles.
Suddenly, raindrops began to fall from the sky, fast and heavy.
Luo Qingyao approached with an umbrella and said to her, "Senior Brother is just a sharp tongue with a soft heart. Donāt be upset." Seeing Guan Xin unresponsive, she sighed, "Alright, Iāll stay here with you until you feel better."
Guan Xin said with a nasal tone, "Iām not really that upset; itās just my first time crying, Iām having trouble controlling it."
She stood up and tried to smile at Xianchan, "Thank you."
Xianchan made a heart gesture.
Guan Xinās gaze grew a bit complicated, "After crying, I actually feel lighter." She thought to herself, was Fan Wubing intentionally provoking me?
"Thatās good. When Iām upset, I also hide away to cry. Once Iām done, everything goes back to how it was."
