Jinling, inside the Wu Family mansion.
The entire Wu Family was now adorned with white banners, and in the central courtyard, a grand memorial hall had been erected. Inside the memorial hall lay a fine nanmu coffin, in which Wu Yingxiong lay.
The Family Head, Wu Yingxiongâs father Wu Jianxiong, stood before the coffin, silently gazing at the black and white photograph of Wu Yingxiong; the man had aged more than a decade in appearance, his head full of white hair, his face solemn and showing no sign of emotion.
A middle-aged man clad in white hurriedly walked in.
"Family Head, Jin Quan has let that young man go," he said.
"Why?" Wu Yingxiongâs voice sounded, low and deep.
"I donât know, but when I tried to contact Jin Quan, his phone was turned off, and I couldnât reach him; no one else at the police station could be reached either," the middle-aged man spoke indifferently.
"It seems this young man has some identity unknown to us," Wu Jianxiong said coldly, his aged eyes flashing with an unforgettable murderous intent.
"Family Head, I have already ordered Poisonous Scorpion to mobilize all our Strength to pursue and kill this young man. However, his strength is formidable, and hundreds have died by his hand already, with another hundred severely wounded. I fear that only someone of Innate strength could deal with him," he reported.
"Have you made contact with ânumber twoâ?"
Wu Jianxiong asked coldly.
"News has come through; he should arrive within the next two days," the middle-aged man nodded.
"Make all preparations; let that young man and that despicable woman serve as a sacrifice for my son tomorrow."
Wu Jianxiongâs hoarse, chilling voice spread through the air as his time-worn eyes fixed on Wu Yingxiongâs photograph, revealing a dreadful murderous resolve, his presence exuding a profound pressure.
In Jinling, within a suite at a five-star hotel, the bathroom door opened, and Ye Luo, wearing a bathrobe, walked out, drying his hair with a towel.
Facing the pursuit of the entire Jinling underworld, Ye Luo dared to stay in a hotel so openly, truly a first.
But Ye Luo knew that as desperate as those people might be, they were unlikely to brazenly storm a five-star hotel, which would certainly cause tremendous panic. Even the Wu Family, powerful as they were, would struggle to handle the fallout.
So Ye Luo was quite at ease staying in this five-star hotel, pouring himself a glass of red wine from the cabinet, quietly savoring it.
Soon after, Luo Jingxuanâs call came through.
"Itâs already one or two in the morning; havenât you gone to sleep yet?" Ye Luo said to Luo Jingxuan.
"How are you doing now? Have you found Sister Yan? How can I sleep when you two arenât safe?" Luo Jingxuanâs voice sounded weary.
"Donât worry, Iâll bring Sister Yan back safely. You get some rest; sheâll be back with you tomorrow."
Ye Luo offered words of comfort before ending the call.
Swipe!
However, at that moment, the lights in Ye Luoâs room suddenly went out, and unbeknownst to him, the windows had opened, allowing gusts of cold wind to enter, causing the curtains to flutter noisily.
Ye Luo sat on the sofa, his expression calm, sipping wine from his glass with narrowed eyes, a trace of cold sharpness flitting across his gaze.
Whoosh!
A piercing sound of cutting air suddenly exploded in the silent room. In the darkness, a shadowy glow shot toward Ye Luo.
Ye Luoâs body abruptly stood up, leaving behind a trail of afterimages as he appeared on the other side, the hidden weapon embedding itself in the wall.
Several more hidden weapons, glowing faintly, shot toward Ye Luo again, clearly coated with potent poison.
Slowly setting down his wine glass, a gleam flashed in Ye Luoâs eyes as his body mysteriously vanished from sight.
At that moment, in the room, a dark figure emerged, dressed in tight black clothes, face masked in black, revealing only a pair of chilling eyes, holding a curved saber, completely merged with the darkness.
A pair of chilling eyes scanned the pitch-black room with a sharp gleam.
"Are you looking for me?"
A light, floating voice sounded behind the black-clad figure, who instantly tensed, and then, like a rabbit kicking an eagle, darted forward, rolling on the ground and scanning behind them.
Lit by moonlight at the figureâs original position was another figure, Ye Luo himself.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
Several more hidden weapons were fired with astonishing speed, followed by the figure charging forth, saber swinging in a fierce arc, executing a Forceful Strike of Hua Mountain.
Ye Luoâs body swayed to avoid the hidden weapons, and as he felt a fierce surge of energy approaching, he tilted, letting the sharp saber graze past him. The gust from the blade stung his nose, and, as the opponentâs blade turned, it came slicing horizontally at Ye Luo, tearing a gash in his clothing.
Ye Luoâs toes tapped the ground, sliding backward as the curved saber kept sweeping toward his abdomen. He then tapped his feet again, leaping upward, vaulting over the attackerâs head.
Swish!
The opponent turned and unleashed another fierce strike, this one carrying a terrifying True Qi that even made the air seem to sizzle and crack.
This time, Ye Luo slammed a punch fiercely down onto the blade, eliciting a grating clang, energy bursting in all directions. The assailant stumbled back several dozen steps, their hand shaking as several more hidden weapons were launched.
Although the room was enveloped in darkness, Ye Luo could clearly see the trajectory of the incoming hidden weapons and easily evaded them. By the time he looked again, however, the attacker had mysteriously vanished.
But the next second, Ye Luo spun around, as a curved saber unexpectedly thrust out from behind him, brushing past him and slamming into a nearby coffee table, shattering it into fragments.
Swish swish swish!
A series of fierce saber winds swept through, and in the darkness, the black-clad figure was like a wraith, their silhouette flickering uncertainly, sometimes appearing in front of Ye Luo, and other times behind him.
A series of sharp saber winds enveloped him, and countless saber shadows bloomed in the dark room, filled with boundless intentions to kill.
With the opponentâs bizarre speed, along with their fierce saber technique and incessant hidden weapons, even an expert at the Innate Middle Stage might easily fall to them. But none of these posed much of a challenge for Ye Luo.
Under Ye Luoâs mighty 360-degree Clairvoyant Eye, no matter how ghostly the opponentâs movements, they could be instantly located, allowing for precise evasion or counterattack.
Gradually adapting to the opponentâs ghost-like attack pattern, Ye Luo unleashed his true power, fists swinging, blasting apart all the saber winds with numerous forceful and dominant punches.
The next second, the figure vanished once more. This time, Ye Luo just stood there quietly, without moving a muscle.
