The first wave consists of small beasts with only First and Second Rank strength, serving both as a tentative attack and a test for the cityâs defensive weaknesses!
After all, this time, the battle is commanded by a Demon Beast King, so naturally, the demon beasts cannot be like scattered sand!
However, officially this is just a probe attack, but the scale is not small at all!
A total of over fifty thousand demon beasts charged toward the walls from all directions, clearly sent just to die!
Also, itâs to gather insights into the cityâs defense intensity for future attacks!
Of course, this batch of demon beasts are the weakest, with no Spiritual Intelligence awakened!
Thus, their strength can only be said to be average!
After all, demon beasts with awakened Spiritual Intelligence wouldnât stupidly rush to be cannon fodder!
Yet, even so, the aura of those demon beasts still made the people inside Divine Phoenix City slightly stunned!
Just a probing attack, and already fifty thousand demon beasts!
How could it not leave a shock!
At this moment, Ye Luo had just entered the city, though he received orders from Divine Phoenix Palace disciples to assist in defending the city, he wasnât recruited so quickly!
Originally, they wanted to recruit Yun Yin too, but seeing the little Princess of the Dragon Clan unconscious, they showed a bit of leniency!
At least, thereâs still a touch of humanity in this!
Ye Luo is not unreasonable; he naturally knows that this demon beast siege, frankly, was provoked by him, so he wouldnât refuse to assist in the city defense!
Moreover, Ye Luo is no stranger to big scenes; back in the Sixth Region, the Demon Clan had driven demon beasts to attack the Great Tang Empire!
Of course, Ye Luo was the supreme commander then; this time, he joined only as a little soldier!
And though Ye Luoâs strength had reached the Sixth Rank, he was only temporarily allocated a hundred common Martial Artists of the Third Stone Rank!
Honestly, Ye Luo would rather not have these people, as their low strength provides him no assistance, and he must care for them constantly!
These people are not soldiers; theyâre disciples of small sects and even some are merely Loose Cultivators!
Disciples of the Great Sects couldnât possibly be allocated to Ye Luo!
If it werenât for facing a demon beast siege this time, everyone would clearly know that defending the city isnât anyoneâs singular responsibility!
If the city falls, everyone will suffer!
There are no supervising generals!
The Divine Phoenix Cityâs battle doesnât need any supervisor!
If you want to live, then fight!
Of course, for the cowardly ones, those hoping to rely on others while they hide, Divine Phoenix Palace will not host them!
In fact, within just a few hours, Divine Phoenix Palace disciples killed at least a few hundred people!
These were those unwilling to assist in defending the city!
Reasons?
Sorry, whatever your reason!
At this critical moment of life and death, no one will care about these things!
All anyone sees is your cowardice!
Not even the slaughter of these hundreds stirred any waves.
If you want to live, then go fight yourself, if you dare not fight but hope to rely on others, well, sorry!
No one will sympathize!
At this moment, the battle had erupted; fifty thousand demon beasts have charged over!
From the walls come constant shouts, various lights flash endlessly!
Secret Technique attacks, talisman character attacks, some particular attack modes Ye Luo never even saw before appear continuously, but Ye Luo with his hundred men have yet to engage in battle, they are just a reserve force for now!
Ye Luo temporarily didnât focus on the battle atop the walls!
Because when itâs his turn, someone will naturally notify him!
Ye Luo is very clear-minded!
Now, he is just a temporarily recruited ordinary soldier, not in Great Tang Empire, in this war, he has no say, and even ignoring orders, Ye Luo might just be killed!
Understanding clearly his current situation and identity, Ye Luo naturally dismisses the battle atop the walls and instead focuses on his own gains!
The half-Spiritual Body demon beast wasnât brought along by Ye Luo, left by Yun Yinâs side, after all, who could be sure the city is completely safe!
Moreover, facing such battle, even if the half-Spiritual Body demon beast came, what use would it be?
In war, unless you are an absolute strong figure, personal power is utterly insignificant!
Ye Luo hasnât studied the Fruit of Life because thereâs no time now!
What Ye Luo is observing now is his own Divine Soul Power!
...
He merely walked a circle around that mysterious lake, yet the benefits gained were beyond Ye Luoâs expectations!
There, possessing terrifying life force that suppresses multitudes of demon beast kings to immobility!
Such immense life force, how can it not bestow advantages upon Ye Luo!
Endless transformation has made Ye Luoâs divine soul nearly double in size!
This is the power of the divine soul!
Ye Luo is naturally extremely delighted, given such huge divine soul power is a boon, regardless of the circumstances!
Suddenly, distant battle seems to end, evidently, the first wave of demon beastâs probing attack has concluded!
But Ye Luo knows perhaps now the real battle is just beginning!
No matter the demonsâ initial intentions for attacking Divine Phoenix City, since the battle has started, thereâs no stopping it!
And the fifty thousand demon beast probes have given Demon Beast Kings initial understanding of Divine Phoenix Cityâs defenses, naturally the ensuing battle is what constitutes the real fight!
Sure enough, just as Ye Luo expected, shortly afterward, shouts and demon beast roars erupt again!
Clearly, the real battle has begun!
"Team Seventeen! Eastern wall, Eighteenth area! Immediate support!"
Suddenly, a command was issued!
Ye Luo paused slightly because, coincidentally, he led Team Seventeen!
How come itâs so quick that he must support there?
But Ye Luo couldnât overthink as the commanding Divine Phoenix Palace disciple stood waiting!
Evidently, though the disciple reported the area needing support, worried Ye Luo might not know the route, waited to guide Ye Luo!
This is because the battle has just started, manpower is still plenty, so at this moment the messenger can lead Ye Luoâs way!
