Chapter 57: Stealing the Sister Away

Ye Xuan’s eyes were filled with endless longing. Over the years, he had never stopped thinking about his sister—the only family he had left in the world.

Unfortunately, his sister had been adopted by the Qin family, separating them by worlds. He hadn’t even been able to approach her, let alone reunite with her.

Right now, Ye Xuan wasn’t strong enough to confront the Qin family directly.

But as he saw his sister laughing and chatting with the young man beside her, his expression darkened, and his gaze turned cold.

That young man was Qin Xian, the heir of the Qin family and the empire’s number one genius.

Standing in the crowd, Ye Xuan watched in silence as the highly esteemed Qin Xian basked in the attention of the masses, his heart filled with hostility. The Qin family had wiped out the Ye family, and Ye Xuan harbored an unending, irreconcilable hatred for every member of the Qin family.

Qin Xian, the eldest son of the Qin family, was someone Ye Xuan despised with every fiber of his being.

If it hadn’t been for that tragic incident, Ye Xuan would have been the heir of the Ye family, a respected nobleman of the empire, enjoying a perfect life much like Qin Xian.

But now, he was no better than a rat hiding in the shadows, constantly fleeing and surviving in obscurity. Everything had been destroyed by the Qin family!

Watching Qin Xian’s glorious life made Ye Xuan feel a deep sense of injustice. And what made it worse… Qin Xian had stolen his sister for all these years!

At this thought, Ye Xuan’s hatred and resentment toward Qin Xian grew even more intense. There was also a pang of jealousy.

He was jealous that Qin Xian had held the role of Qin Li’s older brother for all these years!

Especially when he saw the way Qin Li looked at Qin Xian—her gaze was filled with tenderness, affection, and admiration. It made Ye Xuan burn with jealousy!

Those feelings should have been directed at him. He should have been the one Qin Li relied on! Not Qin Xian! Qin Xian had stolen his sister!

Ye Xuan’s gaze shifted to Qin Li, and his eyes were filled with deep familial affection.

This burning gaze didn’t go unnoticed by Qin Li. She instinctively turned her head and looked toward Ye Xuan. For the first time in eighteen years, the siblings’ eyes met.

Seeing Qin Li looking at him, Ye Xuan’s heart swelled with excitement. Could it be that Qin Li also sensed the connection between them, a bond of blood and family?

He gazed at her with longing, hoping that Qin Li would understand the meaning and emotion behind his eyes. After all, they were blood-related siblings!

But his hopes were quickly dashed.

Qin Li looked away almost immediately, her expression calm and unaffected. In fact, there was even a faint hint of disgust.

“What’s wrong?”  Sensing something off, Qin Xian turned to his sister and asked.

“Nothing, just a bothersome gaze…” Qin Li’s brows furrowed slightly, a trace of discomfort evident in her expression.

That heated gaze from earlier had made her feel incredibly uneasy. She hated it when people looked at her that way. Unless it was her brother… The truth was, Qin Li disliked men.

Or, to be more precise, Qin Li hated all men except for Qin Xian.

Qin Xian chuckled softly and said, “Li’er, with our status, we’re bound to be the center of attention. People will always be watching us.”

There was a trace of pride in his voice, a pride that came from deep within his noble bloodline.

“Our Qin family is destined to stand at the pinnacle of this world…”

Looking at the confidence and radiance on Qin Xian’s face, Qin Li’s heart filled with admiration and infatuation. She nodded and said softly, “I will always stay by your side, brother…”

As for that bothersome young man from earlier, Qin Li had already forgotten about him. However, she thought to herself that if she encountered him again…  She would kill him.
