Chapter 717: Mind Mess
At the city entrance, now devoid of people since the gate had long been open and everyone had entered, Kent stood with his arms crossed over his chest, looking down the road that trailed far into the distance.
The guards stood in front of the gate, watching the human who had been standing there for the past five minutes.
âYou donât think the king threw him out⊠after all, he was escorted in and taken to the kingâs palace,â one of the guards asked, watching Kentâs back.
âI donât think he was thrown out. I mean, if the king wanted him out, wouldnât the royal guards escort him?â
âThat makes sense. But then, if the king didnât throw him out, why is he standing there like a beggar?â
The guards speculated about many things as the watch held back. They didnât understand why someone who had just antagonized the Elves would be standing outside as if he were waiting for his death.
âCLOSE THE DOORS AND SOUND THE ALARMS!â
Suddenly, the leader of the guards shouted, prompting the gossiping ones to turn to him. When they looked where his gaze was directed, they saw hundreds of Elven warriors, each at the Core Formation stage, flying at top speed toward them.
They immediately scattered, running toward the gate. However, before they could get far, Kentâs voice stopped them.
âThey are here for me.â
They paused for a second before continuing to run. They didnât trust Kent, and since they were trained to respond immediately, they closed the door. But before the alarms could sound, the kingâs voice entered their ears.
âDonât sound the alarm. They are here for the human.â
The king and the ten elders appeared in the air, stopping atop the gate that overlooked the vast expanse of green land stretching before them.
A few seconds later, the Elves reached the gate, stopping 150 meters away. But as cultivators, such a distance can be closed in microseconds.
One hundred twenty of them hovered in the air, looking coldly at Kent, while one landed on the ground and walked forward, maintaining a distance of 20 meters between him and Kent.
âYou are Kent Madson,â Dailon, one of the Elf army generals, asked, holding his sword.
Kent looked at him calmly, and then a smile appeared on his face. âYou look young and handsome for someone who is already 1,209 years old. Tell me, what is your skincare routine?â
It wasnât just the Elves; even King Thalirion and the ten elders didnât expect such a reply from Kent. His answer wasnât what they expected, given the conditions he found himself in.
However, Kent stood there, looking smugly at General Dailon, who was having a hard time coming to terms with a few things.
Aside from the obviously shocking reply he had received, one thing struck his nerves, causing him to wonder many things. Instinctively, his back broke out in a cold sweat.
âHow did he know my ageâŠâ he wondered, looking at Kent.
âNo need to look at me like that. I am Kent Madson, so of course, I know every small thing about all of you. For example, you over there,â Kent pointed at another Elf hovering among the 120 Elves.
âYour name is Queren, you are 980 years old, and while I hate doing this, sleeping with General Dailonâs wife is not cool. You canât be doing that to your general while he was away protecting your borders.â
âOr you think asking for leave under the pretense that your sister is sick wouldnât catch someoneâs eye. I am disappointed in you, Queren. The Bro Code states that another bro shouldnât covet another broâs wife⊠That is cold of you, Queren⊠I am disappointed.â
Kent turned back to Dailon and sighed, shaking his head in sympathy. âI am sorry you have to find out like this, but that bitch has been banging this traitor for 26 years now.
The only reason she hasnât become pregnant yet is that this bastard has reasonable control over his release. Cerise loves him for that. I mean, that lying bitchâŠ
You should probably find yourself a new wife when you get back⊠because I canât bring myself to kill a fellow brother who was cuckolded.
But donât worry, as a bro, I will share in your sympathy, so I will leave him for you to handle later, after I kill everyone, of course. Some revenges must be exacted in person.â
The look on everyoneâs face was one of shock, disbelief, and, even more importantly, bewilderment. No one could understand why Kent knew all he had just said.
It was both terrifying, considering the names he mentioned were all true. The part about Queren asking for leave was true. Dailon could still remember that day vividly.
He even sent his regards to Querenâs sister⊠Now it turns out he was sending regards to his moaning wife, who chose to bang a dude under his command.
Dailonâs grip tightened on his sword as he recalled the memory. Then there was the part where Kent spoke about Queren having good control of his release, making it impossible to impregnate his wife.
That hit even worse. He felt betrayed, and looking at the calm expression on Kentâs face now, he could tell he was being manipulated, but he couldnât bring himself to do anything about it.
Kent had gotten inside his head.
Of course, Kent was smiling inwardly. âThat skill I received after adding Elaine to the harem is a gold mine,â Kent thought.
The skill he received is called [Mind Mess].
It allows him to create confusion among allies. All he has to do is find the weak link and start weaving confusion from there. Itâs a slow way of poisoning the mind.
But Kent has something that can speed up the processâhis âEnchanted Eyes.â They allow him to gain access to the most secret information about someone, depending on how powerful they are and Kentâs own mental and soul strength.
Naturally, Kent saw all 121 Elves before him like an open book. So, using the skill, he targeted the leader⊠but it was just the start.
âEdyrm, why did you choose to betray your kind, colluding with the Dark Elves to kill Fenrisâ parents? Do you hate your best friend that much?â
