188: Reporting for Duty 188: Reporting for Duty Editor: Noodletown Translations âWhatâs going on?
A ten-million-yuan insurance?
Sounds cool.â Zhu Lingling interjected; she was curious.
Huo Mian looked at Qin Chu and said, âYou talk.â âItâs nothing, I just signed you up for some reasonable insurance.â âHow much?â Huo Mian probed further.
âJust a couple dozen million.â âJust⊠a couple dozen million?
Wealthy people sure know how to live,â Zhu Lingling was flabbergasted.
âWhy would you do that?
Youâre already loaded, do you really need an insurance companyâs payout?â Huo Mian frowned, she didnât know what Qin Chu was thinking.
Gao Ran spoke before anyone else could, âSee, thatâs where youâre wrong.
Chu didnât sign you up to receive a payout from the insurance company.
The point of that is if you accidentally get hurt and the offending party fails to provide a sky-high compensation, the insurance company will sue.
Then, the court will rule it to be intentional and sentence the perpetrator anywhere between a couple of years to a couple of decades in prison.â Huo Mian and Zhu Lingling were shocked by Gao Ranâs explanation⊠Huo Mian finally understood why the pregnant patientâs husband was detained; it was because of her insurance.
âWhich means that when you hurt your head, because your husband signed you up for high-payout insurance for that part of your body and the perpetrator couldnât pay off the 50 million yuan, he was sentenced to at least five to ten years of jail time.
Plus, the insurance company will compensate you.
Therefore, youâll have to be extra careful in the future, your insurance company will cry if you accidentally bump into things,â Gao Ran said with a big smile on his face.
Huo Mian looked quietly at Qin Chu; Qin Chu, on the other hand, acted like he wasnât involved in their conversation.
He was reading company emails on his phone.
Zhu Lingling gave him a thumbs up.
âChinaâs #1 husband.â âYou never told me these things.â Huo Mian pouted as if she had been wronged.
âThere are things that you donât have to know.
All you need to know is that no matter who hurts you, they wonât get away with it,â Qin Chu looked up and said, enunciating each word.
âYou shouldnât be spoiling her too much, or else she might cuckold you in the future,â Gao Ran joked.
In return, he immediately received the death stare from both Huo Mian and Qin Chu.
After dinner, they each went home.
Huo Mian, after tidying up her bed and getting onto it, was still feeling out of sorts.
She couldnât believe that he signed her up for high-payout insurance.
Why were his actions so unpredictable and illogical?
While she was thinking, Qin Chu came in through the door and handed her a key.
âHere, drive this tomorrow.â âQin Chu, donât treat me so well.â âYouâre my wife, who else am I supposed to treat well?â Qin Chu said matter-of-factly.
âBut if you treat me too well, I might become arrogant.â âThen so be it.
Do whatever you want, as long as youâre happy.â âQin ChuâŠâ Huo Mian actually wanted to say, if you treat me so well now, how do you expect me to let you go when we get divorced?
However, she didnât have the heart to say it.
At a time like this, she would be raining all over Qin Chuâs parade if she brought up divorce, right?
â The next morning â After breakfast, the couple left for work together.
Huo Mianâs white Volkswagen CC, although nothing luxurious, was still easy on the eyes.
Plus, the model definitely attracted attention⊠At an intersection, Qin Chu was supposed to make a turn, but he continued trailing Huo Mianâs car.
Huo Mian took out her earphones and called Qin Chu.
âYouâre driving in the wrong direction.
This is the way to the overpass, not to your company.
You can turn around at the next intersection.
Once you go back to the main road, head towards New Moon Road, and that should take you back on track.â âI know.â âIf you know, then why did you purposely go the wrong way?
Is your brain short-circuiting, Mr.
Qin?â Huo Mian was left speechless by Qin Chuâs nonchalant answer.
CREATORSâ THOUGHTS Noodletown_ Currently, the total count is at 9.5 bonus chapters for month-end mass-release.
Donât rage yet, hereâs a calculation.
Before entering premium, you guys get 22 chaps/week, and patrons get 30 chaps/week, while both get about 120 chaps/month (4 weeks) after including the month-end mass release.
However, everyone will get 35 chaps/week after we enter Premium on October 18, adding up to 140 chaps/month (4 weeks).
So yeah, just the regular schedule alone, you guys will be receiving 20 more chaps in total already.
So, even though a lot of patrons backed out and the month-end mass release isnât as big, you will already be getting 20 chaps more without considering the patron support.
Lastly, I just want to say that after discontinuing the early-access perk, it is understandable that only a handful of people chose to stay.
This is why I am especially grateful for those that chose to stay, as they are such kind individuals that are willing to bless everyone with the month-end mass release.
Thank you very much, and thank you all for being a great crowd with the kind comments and interesting discussions haha
