“Yeah, that’s my little sister, Mian.”

“Oh… So it was just your little sister…” Yan Ruoxi muttered happily.

Huo Siqian smiled faintly at Yan Ruoxi’s remarks, neither confirming nor denying the statement.

“But you guys don’t look alike, are you related? Which side of the family is she from?” Yan Ruoxi just kept asking one question after another.

Huo Siqian gave her the menu elegantly. “Do you prefer marinated beef or steak?”

“Mhm?” Yan Ruoxi was bedazzled by the question. She felt like they weren’t on the same channel.

“Um… marinated beef is fine… Steak is too tough for me. My teeth aren’t that great, so I can’t really bite into them…”

“Sure.”

Huo Siqian nodded. Then he called the waiter over to order, “Two beef sets… one blueberry fruit salad. Also a coconut milk sago soup…”

“Okay. Please give us a second, President Huo.”

Yan Ruoxi looked at Huo Siqian with admiration. “Wow. How did you know I like to eat blueberry fruit salad and coconut milk sago soup?”

“You ate quite a bit last time we had dinner together,” Huo Siqian said nonchalantly.

“Haha… you’re such an attentive person. Even my dad doesn’t know… No wonder you’re so successful at such a young age.”

Upon hearing Yan Ruoxi’s waterfall of praises, Huo Siqian only replied with a smile.

“You have so many female artists under your company… and they’re all so pretty… Don’t you have a girlfriend?”

“No, I don’t.”

“Why not?”

“Because… there’s someone I like, and she’ll always be in my heart.”

“Oh. I know. Is it your deceased wife… You’re such a romantic. She sure is a lucky woman, having someone like you love her even after she left the world…”

Yan Ruoxi exclaimed in a quiet voice…

Huo Siqian didn’t refute nor respond; he felt like he didn’t need to explain anything to this young girl.

He was only having lunch with her because of Mayor Yan…

“Then… do you think you will date again in the future?”

Huo Siqian just looked up at her without responding.

Yan Ruoxi immediately blushed. “I mean… if you might meet a special person in the future and she is really into you. Would you date her?”

“Probably not,” Huo Siqian said without much emotion.

“Oh…” Yan Ruoxi looked a bit disappointed.

“Um… I saw on the entertainment magazines that you were dating Mo Xue’er… Is that true?”

Young girls were sure nosy… They wanted to know everything.

Huo Siqian thought for a bit and responded calmly, “No, we didn’t date. At most, we slept together.”

“Oh… you slept together. So you guys were just friends with benefits?” Yan Ruoxi said without any filter.

“You can put it that way,” Huo Siqian said as it if it were nothing special.

He didn’t need to bribe the new mayor like how he did with Song Qingguo.

That was why he didn’t need to play pretend in front of the new mayor’s daughter, and he answered all her questions freely.

“Oh… Um… I understand. After all, we’re all adults. We’re not nuns and monks so it’s okay to be a bit casual sometimes… Nothing special…” Yan Ruoxi said, looking a bit embarrassed.

Huo Siqian didn’t say much. He just looked down at his phone and browsed the stock market.

In his mind, however, he was replaying his brief encounter with Huo Mian just now. She really did look different after becoming a mom.

She no longer had the naiveté of a young girl. Now, she looked more mature.

He could even see the glow of motherly love around her…

That made Huo Siqian love her even more…

Seeing Huo Mian made his urge to possess her even stronger…

When Huo Mian and Su Yu returned, Grandpa Su was playing with one of the babies in the living room.

Su Yu walked up and took the baby.

“What are you doing?”

“Grandpa, let me play with her for a while…” Su Yu announced.

“I’ll let you take her if you guess right. Is this Pudding or Little Bean?” Grandpa Su suddenly proposed to play a game with his grandson.
