Chapter 2012: Little to Do with the Eternal Night Sect

Chapter 2012: Chapter 2012: Little to Do with the Eternal Night Sect

As she spoke, she looked at the Second Elder, but a cold snort sounded in her heart. What was the leader of the Tusu Sect, after all? She was going in person to cancel the engagement, which was showing them enough respect—is it possible they still wanted to give her a cold shoulder?

“It’s no trouble at all, no trouble.”

The Second Elder didn’t say anything else, just chuckled and shook his head.

After all, it was only a matter of escorting someone there; he didn’t care about the rest. And this little bit of difficulty, he was willing to endure.

He believed that this task, if given to anyone else, would surely be welcomed—to get rid of this ancestor, who wouldn’t be happy? If the Great Elder knew, he’d probably be itching to escort her in person.

After all, only by personally escorting her to the destination could one feel at ease, right?

“Alright, let’s handle the matter in this way. Yiyu, go and inform your mother, so she doesn’t worry. You’ll leave early tomorrow morning with the Second Elder and try to return as soon as possible.”

Sect Master Leng took the initiative to speak.

“Uh…”

Leng Yiyu was caught off guard.

She had just made a scene in her mother’s courtyard, so her mother must already know by now, right?

Approaching her now, wasn’t she just asking for a scolding?

Moreover, although her mother didn’t want her to leave the Eternal Night Sect, she was quite supportive of the marriage to the Tusu Sect. She had mentioned it more than once in front of her, wanting the Young Sect Master of the Tusu Sect to marry into the Eternal Night Sect.

Because her grandfather had once said that the Young Sect Master of the Tusu Sect was talented and was sure to achieve something in the future.

“Father, mother’s health has not been good recently. Cancelling the engagement is a minor matter. Perhaps, let’s not tell mother for now. When your daughter returns with the Second Elder, we can give mother a pleasant surprise. What do you think?”

She suggested.

“In that case, let’s follow your wishes.”

Sect Master Leng feigned consideration for a moment, then agreed.

This really was an unexpected delight. Being able not to let Lady Leng know spared him the trouble of finding ways to keep her mouth shut. It surely saved him a lot of trouble.

“Yiyu, the Second Elder and I have matters to discuss. You should go back first and get ready for tomorrow. Prepare what you need to take with you, and the Second Elder will inform you of when to depart. You should also make preparations for yourself.”

He said.

“Okay, Father, I’ll go and get ready.”

Knowing she was going to cancel the engagement, Leng Yiyu was full of energy, utterly elated.

She left the Stone Chamber with a bounce in her steps and slowly made her way out. She needed to prepare some extra belongings for the road, so as not to slight herself.

“Sect Master, do you have any other instructions for your subordinate?”

Once Leng Yiyu had left, the Second Elder looked at Sect Master Leng and inquired.

They had already agreed on everything earlier, hadn’t they? His main task now was to deliver the young miss to the Tusu Sect.

“In that case, Second Elder, go and pick out some extra gifts; consider them as an apology from the current sect master to the Young Sect Master of the Tusu Sect. Additionally, when you arrive at the Tusu Sect, make the attitude of the current sect master and Eternal Night Sect clear.

Once a daughter is married off, she belongs to another family. Whether to teach or to punish her is the Tusu Family’s affair, irrelevant to the Eternal Night Sect. You may let the Tusu Clan know not to be too apprehensive.”

Second Elder: “…”

Isn’t this just candidly telling them that if the daughter married into the Tusu Family causes any trouble, to punish her as they see fit, and that the Eternal Night Sect won’t utter a word against it?

The father-in-law is openly supporting his son-in-law. The Second Elder looked at Sect Master Leng with confused eyes. Was the Sect Master really sure he wanted him to relay this message?
