Chapter 43 â Becoming A Vice-General Class Boss Monster
What the fuck?
Raelâs eyes widened upon seeing that message.
It was out of nowhere, and he definitely did not expect to see it now, of all times.
However, the one thing it had in common with the current timing was that the main quest had just become available.
Out of curiosity, he decided to press on that pop-up, and to his surprise, he got some information.
âYou have been marked by an incredibly powerful being, granting you several effects.
1. Exude a passive aura that makes monsters 30 levels lower than you ignore your presence.
2. Youâve been blessed by a Primordial! <+250 To All Stats!>
3. Your existence has caught the eyes of the gods! <+1000 Charisma!>
4. You will automatically join ???âs faction, and everyone who is against ??? will seek to eliminate you.
Special Option: Trust
âYou may, at any time, revoke the mark, leave the faction, and keep the rewards. However, upon doing so, you will forfeit any additional blessings in the future.
So a curse, but at the same time a blessing? And I can revoke it whenever I want? Is this primordial an idiot?
Rael raised his brow.
It was an obvious choiceâsimply take the loot and run.
However, Rael felt like he shouldnât do that, almost as if doing so would screw him over.
Therefore, he let out a sigh and swatted the mark interface aside before glancing at his newfound stat adjustments.
That was what he was looking for.
I just got the equivalent of buying an insane item.
Rael thought with a grin as he paced around the cave.
He didnât want to check his status, almost as if he wanted to surprise himself with the sheer amount of damage he could do.
There was only one thing missing, and that was the perk selection.
However, as he glanced around, he finally found the system message displaying some information.
Great, awesome, fuck you too.
He calmly made his way further into the cave, his MP and HP regenerating rapidly.
The corpse of the Storm Wolf was nowhere to be seen, unsurprisingly, as the explosion had managed to wipe everything out.
Yet, as the minutes passed, Rael noticed the cave was slightly changing.
Earlier, it had been pretty tame, but now sharp rocks were scattered across the ground, and the walls had turned similarly jagged.
It almost felt like he was walking into a death trap.
But, of course, that was his objective. After all, the moment he got inside the boss room, he would turn that trap into an opportunity.
A couple more minutes passed, and finally, Rael noticed the caveâs walls widening outward, meaning he was entering an individual area, just like with the elite monsters.
However, this one was much, much more expansive, spanning far into the distance, making the cave seem unnaturally large.
Now this is a fucking boss arena,
Rael thought inwardly, his blood pumping.
The moment he stepped forward, the entrance through which he had come closed up with spiky rock formations.
Then, the ground shook, followed by a large figure descending from the ceiling.
It was a wolf with white fur and a rainbow tail.
âHmmâŠâ Rael glanced up, meeting its crystal-like green eyes as he began inspecting it.
âElemental Fenrir (Vice-General Class Boss) [Level 60] [4,860,000/4,860,000 HP]
It wasnât as bad as he expected, though it didnât really matter in the end.
After all, his MP had nearly doubled.
Despite that, Rael didnât let his guard down, and rightfully so, as in the very next moment, a streak of lightning hit the ground in front of him, almost taunting him.
And like the calm and collected person Rael was, he didnât fall for it.
âYou piece of shit wolf, Iâll make that rainbow tail of yours a rug in the throne room,â Rael said, and pointed toward the wolf, which finally descended from the ceiling.
It could levitate somewhat, but that was no problem for Rael, as he had several long-range skills at his disposal.
But if he was going to fuck this wolf up, then heâd need to dual-wield.
They had a silent stare-down for a moment, until finally, the wolf broke the silence by sending out another fork of lightning.
[MP -15,500 477,700/493,200 (Gemstone Shield)]
[HP -15,422! 254,378/269,800]
-9,098! (Gemstone Shield)
Rael was grazed by the lightning, and his Gemstone Shield skill reflected a portion of the damage back, which now was a solid 41%.
Nonetheless, that shouldâve been enough to cause an Electrified status ailment to appear.
Wrong.
Like last time, he had gotten something which every boss monster acquires at some point.
And this time, it wasâŠ
Since Electrified would stun him, it now only dealt damage.
Rael flashed a mocking grin at the massive wolf.
âWhatâs wrong, doggo? Your lightning doesnât spark thunderâŠ?â he said and halted.
I fucked up the saying, didnât I?
Despite that, he refocused, because instead of firing another spell, the wolf decided to close the distance and thrust its giant paw straight toward him.
However, Rael wasnât flustered.
[MP -162,000 315,700/493,200 (x6 Fractured Prism)]
Several prisms appeared around him, which quickly shot out shards right into the wolfâs chest.
-376,932! Critical Hit! (x6 Fractured Prism)
It didnât react much, as this was barely a dent in its HP, and its paw continued traveling toward him.
Therefore, Rael raised his sword upright and stabbed it deep into the wolfâs paw, before jumping back.
-2973! Critical Hit! (Melee)
âSword of the Forgotten Swordsman Replica (Uncommon)
Durability: -1/1000
It was a pity, as the sword looked nice, but despite that, it had given him enough leverage to move out of the way as the shards finally detonated.
-155,736! Critical Hit! (x6 Fractured Prism)
It still had most of its HP left, and Rael had slightly above 50% MP remaining.
Therefore, he came to one simple conclusion.
I need to steal that fucking dogâs skill.
