âHahaha! Fuck yeah!â Rael yelled through the open window as he drove through the mushy terrain.
He bought the first option, Bogcrawler MK. IV, since the other options only differed in fuel capacity and speed.
But since it wasnât by much, Rael went with the cheap option, and he wasnât disappointed.
Thankfully, I didnât need to buy any fuel, as this thing already had a full tank. Rael hummed in satisfaction.
This sped up his rate of exploration by several times, and after just 12 minutes, he finally arrived at what he assumed to be the first monument.
From the outside, it looked like a tall stone obelisk, however, around it, he saw a couple dozen monsters standing by, almost as if they were guarding it.
Some were the same monsters heâd killed earlier, and the others were massive green spiders.
âHunting Horror [Level 130] [617,300/617,300 HP]
âCreeping Venomous Spider [Level 150] [1,215,300/1,215,300 HP]
There were only two species, and surprisingly, not even a single elite monster.
But that worked out in his favor, as now, Rael could kill them more easily.
However, just as he was about to step out of his mini truck, he spotted something right in front of the obelisk.
It was a small bonfire surrounded by black steel.
Yet what was even more surprising was the wood inside it, as it was completely white.
I donât see any trees around, so it mustâve been there for a while. Probably before the ground turned black and the trees wilted away. Rael pondered, letting out a sigh. So Thalor definitely explored this part, and I would guess the other monuments tooâthen why did he stop?
Rael did see a massive spider beside the last monument at the top left of the map, but that thing could always be killed.
I guess Iâll figure it out eventually, Rael thought as he got out of the green-camo Bogcrawler and glanced toward the monsters in front.
And of course, he wasnât giving them a chance to attack first.
Holding his Crystal Violin Blade, Rael activated a skill.

Immediately, a massive tornado appeared just outside of the bonfireâs range, but close enough to suck in all the monsters present.
Shit⊠I think I clipped the bonfire. Raelâs brows furrowed as he tried looking beyond the tornado.
However, it was too hard to see, so he had to wait it out.
But in the midst of his waiting, a massive green blob shot out of the swirling tornadoâsomehow aimed perfectly at him.
Rael merely stepped to the side, waiting for the blob to hit the ground.
Yet as it hit the ground, it merely passed through it, not even making a splash.
ââŠ?â Rael tilted his head in confusion. The fuck was that?
Just as he thought he was going crazy, the storm fadedâand the moment it did, dozens of monsters fell to the ground, their bodies tangled and their heads torn.

Huh? Oh shit. Raelâs eyes widened.
He did expect a lot of experienceâbut to this degree?
Level: 99
Experience: 98,108/98,504
Rael was literally almost thereâhe could probably kill a bug and level up, then become a General Class Boss.
Leveling is so much easier now. I remember spending half a year to even reach level 100, and yet I did it in just under a month now, Rael thought with a smile as the last of the storm particles faded.
As they did, he could now see the obelisk properly.
He let out a relieved sigh. Thank fuck I didnât mess up my chance of escaping.
Of course, he could probably buy a return scroll from the premium shopâbut he didnât even want to check the price, since it was bound to be astronomical.
Nonetheless, he took a deep breath and approached the bonfire, which had the white wood neatly placed inside it.
So now how do I light this thing? Rael pondered, stepping to the left to inspect the side of the bonfire.
Yet as he did, he saw a spear tugged between the black soilâthe same spear Elaric had used to intimidate him.
So this is the graveyard they were talking about, Rael deduced, before putting his hands together as if he was about to say a prayer.
Elaric, I didnât know you, but for banging the vampireâs girl, you have balls, so rest in pieces.
AnywaysâŠ
Rael focused on the task at hand, and after pacing around the obelisk a couple of times, he found a torch that had been embedded into the soil.
It was made out of the same black steel the bonfireâs frame was, so it was extremely durable.
But now another problem arose.
With what exactly am I supposed to light this torch?
He tried the obvious option, which wasâŠ

But the flame merely bounced off, leaving the torch unlit.
Dud. Rael shook his head as he decided to tap on the stone obelisk, to perhaps light up the torch.
However, it was a dud again.
Well shit, what if I just chuck it inâmaybe some magical bullshit will happen, Rael thought, and since he didnât have any better ideas, he walked back to the bonfire and gently placed the unlit torch inside.
To his honest surprise, a few pop-ups appeared.
<Monument Detected: Gravefire Ritual â Inactive>
<Whitewood Identified: Magic-Infused Ashroot (Extinct)>
<Flame Source Required: Soulkindle Torch â Incomplete Ritual>
<Would you like to ignite the Gravefire? Yes/No>
I guess? Yes, he immediately agreed, and in the very next moment, a pillar of white flames shot up into the sky, blinding him.
Better yet, the obelisk, which he thought didnât have any purpose, suddenly began shaking, sending pulses through the ground below.
However, with each passing second, the white flame died downâuntil eventually, it was nothing but a crackling flame, which he could probably grill some food on.
But why is the obelisk still shaking? Rael furrowed his brows, when all of a sudden, near the very top of the pointy obelisk, a single golden ball emerged before floating down and hovering right above the white flame.
He stared at it for a couple of seconds until clocking the hint that he actually had to pick it up.
So that was what he did.
It felt warm and squishyâa tad weirdâbut he just hoped it wasnât someoneâs balls he was fondling.
Thankfully, it wasnât.
<Monument Detected: Gravefire Ritual â Inactive â Active>
<Total Monuments Lit: 1/10>
<Flame will remain until all Monuments are lit.>
<Received: 1 Ember>
<Note: Embers will be used to light the final ritual, so it is advised not to lose them.>
So this is an ember, Rael hummed as he glanced at the golden ball, before chucking it inside his inventory.
But just as he thought that was all, another pop-up appeared, causing him to freeze.
<The Beast has awakened!>
