âI believe this is a very bad idea,â Seryn commented, a massive frown on his face.
âI did ask how attached you were. A 2 out of 10 isnât that attached.â Rael shrugged with a chuckle.
He didnât have many options when it came to fighting that monster up there.
It was a narrow roomâone he could get thrown out of at a momentâs notice.
The fall wouldnât kill him, but it would hurt like hell.
That was why he took a different approach.
â˘âPremium Shopââ˘
Category: Explosives/Demolition
â˘âBalance: 4,877,217 Trellââ˘
⢠Dynamite (Common): 2,500 Trell
Out of respect for whoever built the lighthouse, and definitely not because he was lazy, Rael decided to simply destroy one side.
Coincidentally, if it toppled over, the monster inside would fall straight into the sea.
A specter couldnât swim or drown, but the Sea Serpents would likely deal with it.
So, Rael bought 20 pieces of dynamite and spread them on the southern part of the lighthouse before stepping away.
âOnce again, I implore you to reconsider,â Seryn suggested plainly.
Rael rolled his eyes. âDo you even know what Iâm doing?â
âYou are about to make a loud sound and lure the monster outside, is that correct?â Seryn stated confidently.
However, Rael merely shook his head. âYouâll see in just a second.â
Just in case, Rael found himself some makeshift rock coverâas, despite this being a somewhat safe process, if The Beast were to wake up, heâd be fucked.
But alas, no risk, no reward.
âSeryn, I want you to stay quiet for a while, alright?â Rael said, earning a nod from Seryn in response.
Since he had already moved his Hover Bike and Sweepus Prime, the only thing left to do wasâŚ
<Would you like to detonate: [x20] Dynamite (Common)? Yes/No>
Okay⌠here goes nothingâ
âBOOOOOOOOOOOOM
The explosion rang out much louder than he expected. However, when the lighthouse began toppling over, Rael knew he had succeeded.
âWhat in the seven hellsâŚâ Seryn muttered. âIs this some sorcery you pulled from the demonic faction?â
âI have no clue what youâre saying, but nope, probably not.â Rael shrugged as he brought his attention back to the lighthouse.
It leaned more and more, until finally, it completely collapsed at the bottom before suddenly toppling over the cliff and falling into the sea.
Rael let out a relieved breath but didnât get ahead of himself.
After all, The Beast could come out at any moment.
Therefore, he waited for several minutesâyet no pop-up appeared.
Itâs not coming? That was a very loud sound though⌠so why? Rael pondered.
He glanced toward Seryn, who seemed a bit out of it as his eyes were unfocused, but Rael put that behind him as there were more pressing matters at hand.
Rael walked over to the edge of the cliff and just barely managed to spot the lighthouse, which somehow still hadnât sunk.
However, as he thought that it would stay that wayâfor a single momentâhe saw some kind of black outline swimming across the surface of the sea.
What the⌠is it that thing I saw on the map near the Frostpire Bastion? That massive serpentâŚ? Rael thought with widened eyes, and soonâŚ
The massive black shape dived deeper before suddenly shooting upward, revealing its entire body for a mere moment as it dove back down, the lighthouse now completely gone from sight.
But that moment was enough for Rael to inspect the monster.
And as he did, a shiver ran down his spine.
âUmbraleth, Wyrm of the Black Tides (Leader Class Boss) [Level 432] [29,859,840,000/29,859,840,000 HP]
No fucking thank you⌠Iâll probably have to fly to Frostpire Bastion because no way in fuck am I going anywhere near that thing. Rael thought as he turned his gaze toward a new message that had popped up.
<Lurindrel, the Mourning Beacon (General Class Boss) [Level 173] Killed! Experience: +1,939,614 (20%)>
<+969,807 (20%) Trell Acquired>
<Level: 100 â 117 >
<+17,700 Trell Bonus>
20%? Raelâs eyes widened. I didnât even deal damage to it though.
He was expecting 1% or even 5%, as that wouldâve been enough to level him up a few times.
But 20%?
Fucking generous serpent, I might actually go on land. Rael nodded a few times before glancing at what was left of the lighthouse.
It was now in ruins, and only the first floor remained somewhat intact.
However, as he was about to dismiss that, a particular glowing object caught his interest.
It was lying beside the rubble, and to the naked eye, it wouldnât be visible.
I guess I have Primordial Sight to thank for it⌠but I really should figure out how to better use the skill⌠Intimidation? Combat? It works everywhere⌠Rael grumbled before approaching the object and picking it up.
Yet as he picked it up and inspected it, Raelâs eyes widened.
âBeaconâs Final Lament (Epic Crafting Material)
If fused with an item, the item acquires the following option:
1. Wail of the Drowned: Emit a sound that lowers enemy morale by (5%~15%) or magic defense by (10%~30%) for a short duration.
Type: AoE Debuff.
<Note: Due to your race, [Celestite Archon (Legendary)], the effects of this Crafting Material would increase by 2 times once slotted into an item.>
Holy shit⌠if I can put this onto my Violin Blade, then Iâd have a perfect black string⌠Rael thought with excitement as he quickly stashed away the item.
He would upgrade it a bit later, once he finally had some free time.
But until then, there was one more person he had to deal with.
âSeryn, are you done spacing out?â Rael called out, earning a nod in response.
âI apologize. I do not know what came over me. My eyesight just suddenly left me,â Seryn muttered. âBut fear not, I am well prepared for anything that might occur.â
Noble as always⌠Rael sighed.
âSo what now? The lighthouse is basically destroyed, so I doubt youâre planning to live in it. Do you want to come with me or something? I can lead you to a settlement,â Rael asked as he approached him.
âI am not quite sure where I wish to travel yet. My map is a bit out of date,â Seryn replied as he pulled out a map, which only displayed the Abandoned Lighthouseâs location.
âYeahâŚâ Rael sighed and decided to be the good guy for once.
âI have a normal map, and I could take you to other areasâbut in exchange, Iâd like a small monetary compensation. How does that sound?â
