<Choose a name for your custom dungeon!>
Hm⌠A name, huh? Rael pondered for a moment before writing down something random.
<Name Confirmed!>
<Custom Dungeon: Tax Evasion Cave>
Uncommon Ores â 1,200,000 Trell Daily
â Low Quality Stardust Mithril (Uncommon) [Level 200] (x10) [+]
Ahh⌠damn, it feels good to be rich. Rael let out a relieved breath as he proceeded to tap on the Premium Dungeon menu again.
<Do you wish to leave the Custom Dungeon: Tax Evasion Cave? Yes/No>
âYep,â he hummed, and with that, he was back in the smithy againâjust with much more earning potential than before.
In 8 days I can buy an evolution, but I have to wrap everything up by then. There are only 9 days left until the beta ends, Rael thought, passing by the blacksmith and going outside.
Basically, in 9 days, he had to figure his shit out and light the remaining 9 bonfires.
Therefore, he didnât waste any time and merely walked around, trying to narrow down where Seryn could be.
And after roughly 15 minutes of searching, he found him.
He was in some metal courtyard, sparring against Genzoâand losing pretty badly.
âOi!â Rael called out, getting their attention. âAs much as Iâd love to stay here, we have to get a move on.â
âSo soon?â Genzo asked, kicking Seryn away and sheathing his katana. âEnjoy the scenery, kid. Weâre already in hell, so no matter where you go, youâll face the same dreary atmosphere.â
âSorry, but believe it or not, Iâm on a bit of a tight timer,â Rael shrugged. âThough I could give you an offer that you might likeâbut of course, Iâd like money in exchange.â
âMoney is no issue. Iâm pretty wealthy.â Genzo chuckled. âBut what could you possibly offer me? Iâm pretty positive Iâve covered all bases.â
A grin appeared on Raelâs face. âI wouldnât be so sure.â
â˘âPremium Shopââ˘
Category: Miscellaneous/Farming/Magical/Adaptive/Hollow Touch
â˘âBalance: 1,391,094 Trellââ˘
⢠Lunaspike Fruit Seeds [x5] (Rare): 150,000 Trell
<Expand for more>
It was a gamble, as for all he knew, Genzo wouldnât care much about this since he enjoyed his good old rotten monster meat.
HoweverâŚ
âLunaspike Fruit Seeds [5] (Rare)
Sprout a batch of 5 Lunaspikes, which grow under the dazzling red moon of The Depths. Safe for consumption. Water is not needed for growth.
The five silver seeds soon appeared in his palm, and he handed one over to the puzzled Genzo.
âInspect it. Iâm sure we can come to a wonderful arrangement,â Rael said confidently before turning to Seryn.
âYo, you look like shit. Stand up.â
âI am fine. I just stumbled a moment ago,â Seryn replied nonchalantly as he stood up and dusted himself off. âYou mentioned we are traveling, yes?â
âYep, Iâll explain more on the way, but I first have to finish my business here,â Rael said flatly.
However, in the midst of his explanation, he felt a tap on his shoulder.
And the moment he turned around, he saw Genzo staring at him, his arm trembling.
âH-How much?â he asked.
âHow much do you value your health and taste buds?â Rael asked, narrowing his eyes. âBefore you answer, I want you to really consider this. Iâm not going to take a low-ball offer, so Iâm only giving you one chance at this deal.â
âFine, thenââ
âTake a minute to decide,â Rael cut him off, glancing into Genzoâs eyes with a faint smile. âIrrational decisions lead to unfortunate outcomes.â
âHmmâŚâ Seryn hummed from behind, getting Raelâs attention.
âWhat?â
Seryn shook his head. âIt is nothing. You just remind me of a peddler I had slapped into the palaceâs floor. He had tried robbing meâunsuccessfully, of course.â
âMustâve been a fun time,â Rael snickered and waited patiently.
Finally, the one minute was up, and after taking a deep breath, Genzo approached and stretched out his hand.
Rael calmly accepted, and soon the offer appeared.
<Payment Received: 20,000,000 Trell. Accept? Yes/No>
4 million Trell per seed, thatâs more than I was expecting. I guess heâs an important figure, just as I expected, Rael thought, maintaining his poker face as he accepted the deal.
<Confirmed.>
<Balance Updated: +20,000,000 Trell | New Balance: 21,241,094 Trell>
âItâs a pleasure doing business with you,â Rael said warmly. âGrow them well, and I suggest you donât lose them, as I highly doubt there are that many more left in this land.â
âI appreciate this more than you know, thank you,â Genzo stated with a smile. âMay I know your name?â
âItâs Rael. Though Iâd appreciate it if you donât advertise my name aroundâjust say you got this from elsewhere,â Rael replied before turning around. âAnyways, Iâm going to head out now. May we meet again some other time.â
âOf course. If you ever come to the Frostpire Bastion again, you will be welcomed with open arms,â Genzo said as he, too, began making his way elsewhere.
However, before he could walk too far, Rael couldnât help but ask one question.
âWhat do you do when The Beast awakens? With everything going on in this bastion, the amount of sound escaping is more than enough for it to home in on you.â
âWe have a sound barrier surrounding this city. Whenever the pop-up appears, the barrier activates, and all sound is trapped inside. It works like a charm, as we havenât had a single incident in years,â Genzo replied with a chuckle. âIâm sorry, but I have to hand off the seeds to a potential gardener.â
With that, Genzo left in a sprint, leaving Rael and the bored Seryn behind.
âI seeâŚâ Rael muttered. I guess it makes sense that after however many years have passed, they managed to counter it somehow.
But it raised a question.
Whenever a bonfire was lit, according to the system, it was supposed to hold up until the remaining bonfires were lit as well.
So how were they put out in the past?
Too many questions⌠so few answers, Rael grumbled and, alongside Seryn, made his way to the northern part of the city, where another giant gate awaited them.
But without even having to ask, it was opened for them, and soon, they walked out.
It was an interesting place. Though I canât say I fit in, I donât have to put my blood, sweat, and tears into craftingâonly MP, Rael thought with a chuckle before summoning the car and getting in.
Seryn did the same as he immediately fell asleep on the comfortable back seat.
Bruh⌠Rael sighed and focused on the road.
After allâŚ
It was finally time to head toward the second monument.
