Chapter 180: Painting Stuff Into Existence?
âAria⊠what are you doing?â Rael asked, his brow twitching uncontrollably.
He had indeed gone to check up on her. However, here she was, in the palace courtyard, painting a portrait of the Celestara royal palace.
Frankly, it looked like she had gone mad, but she didnât seem to think the same way.
âIâm bored.â She leaned back, nearly falling off her seat. âPlus, I think Iâm onto something. LookâŠâ
The moment her words finished, she delivered a stroke on the canvas. Immediately, a faint trace of mana emanated from the canvas and flew toward the palace.
Then, a giant pillar shot out from the ground and formed a rough-looking guard tower that perfectly blended with the palaceâs exterior.
âTa-da~â Aria exclaimed as she raised her arms into the air, sweat dripping down her face. âWhat do you think? Neat, right?â
ââŠâ Rael stared at the sight with a puzzled yet shocked expression as he approached the structure she had just made.
He placed his hand on it, and to his greater surprise, the structure was solid.
It was made of real bricks, yet as he walked over to the entrance and swung the door open, he noticed that the inside was blank.
There was literally nothing there, just the inner part of the exterior.
Is this some creation magic This is just overpowered⊠Rael trailed off, turning toward Aria, who was leisurely painting again.
Back in Sketa Online, there were classes related to painting, but none that had such control.
Most used brushes to fight long-range, with each color in their palettes having different effects that were fully customizable.
But Aria? She was literally just painting things into existence.
Rael slowly walked toward her and then stood behind her.
âSo uhh⊠howâd you realize you could, you know⊠do this?â Rael asked. âI heard from your gramps that he had trained you and your sisters in the art of the violin blade.â
âI didnât learn his techniques since I had other business to take care of,â Aria replied plainly as she put the coloring palette down. âBut Iâve always loved painting⊠come with me, Iâll show you.â
She stood up, placed her canvas and coloring gadgets into her inventory, and led Rael back to her quarters.
He followed her absentmindedly, surprised by her enthusiasm.
âSay⊠how was your day? Did you find the ones behind the coup?â Rael brought up, causing her to halt.
âAbout that⊠there were too many people involvedâŠâ Aria muttered. âHundreds of civilians, a couple dozen royal guards, and even three officials.â
Raelâs eyes widened. âAnd you found them all? This fast?â
She nodded with a smirk. âYeah, well, Evelyn wasnât getting it done, so I had to use my magic hands.â
He really hoped she only said that because she was good at painting.
Anyways⊠onto more pressing matters.
âAre they alive?â
Aria tilted her head. âThe civilians? No. The royal guards have also been killed. The only ones left are the three officials who are currently locked up in the palaceâs dungeons.â
Just as he was about to speak up, Aria interrupted. âOh, and donât mind the protection. Both Linlin and Evelyn are standing guard. Iâve already told Queen Zafira about this matter too, so you can relax for a bit.â
âWhereâd my stern assistant go?â Rael grumbled, causing Aria to let out a giggle.
âYouâre a terrible teacher.â She shrugged. âI barely learned anything from you, and let me guess⊠youâre going to go on some excursion again?â
Rael shook his head. âMy schedule is pretty free until next week. There are some things I need to set up, of course, but theyâre nothing major.â
Only the Evangelists⊠no biggie. Rael sighed. I need to be careful with them.
After all, for all he knew, they were the reason the future he saw had come to fruition in the first place.
But it would be too convenient⊠they might be a part of it, but I doubt theyâre the cause, Rael thought, putting it aside for now as they finally arrived at her room.
It didnât seem as girly as last time. In fact, it was pretty empty.
Yet Aria didnât seem to care much as she approached her closet and swung it open.
Immediately, a dozen paintbrushes and canvases fell out, dyeing her floor in an array of colors.
ââŠâ
âT-That was not supposed to happen,â Aria said, flustered.
She leaned down, pinched the colors off the ground, and dropped them onto her coloring palettes as though it was normal.
What the fuck is Aria made of? Rael couldnât help but wonder.
âBut yes, as you can see, Iâm trying to broaden my horizons a bit in a different way,â Aria remarked, twirling on her heel as she sat down on her bed. âIt might seem boring to others, but I find it fascinating. I can literally draw something, and it comes to life.â
âLife?â Raelâs brows furrowed. âCan you make sentient stuff?â
The moment he asked that, her eyes widened as she covered her mouth.
âSo you werenât supposed to tell me that, I guessâŠâ Rael sighed. âI wonât tell anyone, you donât have to worry.â
She slowly took her hands off her mouth and then nodded. âYes⊠I can make golems and all sorts of different constructs⊠I can also draw organs into existence, like a heart or something. Itâs the only reason my grandpa is alive for so long.â
âWowâŠâ Rael exclaimed. âBut whatâs the catch? Is there a limit?â
âMy imagination⊠and mana. A lot of manaâŠâ Aria replied with a giggle. âBut aside from that, what now? You said you didnât have any excursions planned, but I have a feeling youâll be leaving soon.â
âRightâŠâ Rael scratched his cheek. âWell, if it makes you feel any better, I promise to take you along next time. How does that sound?â
A faint smile tugged at Ariaâs lips. âThat soundsââ
Her words were interrupted when a wave of pop-ups appeared in front of them.
<Error!>
Haha, get fucked, Rael snickered.
There were only a few hours left until the beta test ended. And frankly, Rael wished he had gotten more out of the players than a measly couple billion.
Nonetheless, there was a time and a place for that, and it would be in exactly 120 days when Sketa Online officially comes out.
âCongrats,â Aria said, clapping a few times. âThe travelers seem to have some leeway on our world. Itâs a bit disheartening, but Iâm glad the quest was canceled.â
âMhmâŠâ Rael trailed off as he stared at the brushes in her closet.
âDo you think you could teach me how to paint?â
hi, lazy author has a new book. Iâd appreciate it if you could add it to your collections as that would make getting a contract much faster and easier. Ty!
