Chapter 211: Transported To An Arena
âIs something wrong?â Anath asked, gazing at the approaching figure on a horse. âIs that not your friend?â
âMore like a stalker,â Rael replied with a shrug. âNo clue how he knows where I am, though. I made sure to be discreet while dealing with the nobles.â
âDealing with the noblesâŠ?â
He nodded. âNothing to worry about. Just know that the man up ahead isnât going to be a very fun person to be around, so when he finally arrives, I want you to get as far away from here as you can.â
âUm⊠but canât we just run away? If youâre so fast, then you can definitely outrun that horse,â Anath commented.
âWhatâs the fun in that?â Rael replied with a chuckle. âWe run here, heâs just going to chase us to another location. We deal with him now, and heâs never going to chase us again. Pretty simple logic, if Iâm being honest.â
ââŠVery well, Iâll stay at a distance then,â Anath agreed reluctantly. âBut are you truly going to take me to my father once this is all done?â
Raelâs brows twitched. Like father, like daughter. I tell them one thing, they question it fifty fucking times.
âYes,â Rael affirmed patiently. âAs soon as Iâm done with this guy, Iâll teleport you back to your father. How does that sound?â
Her eyes immediately lit up in anticipation, and that was also when Reinhardt finally arrived.
As discussed, Anath hesitantly made her way back, and as for Reinhardt, he dismounted his horse and walked over to Rael, stopping just in front of him.
âReinhardt, to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit today?â Rael asked innocently. âHave you come to discuss the plan? But Iâm sure you couldâve done that over text.â
Reinhardt stared at him silently for a few moments before shaking his head.
âIâve come to ask you a simple question, and I want your honest answer.â
Rael tilted his head. âSure? Whatâs up?â
âDid you kidnap my sisters?â Reinhardt asked coldly. âAnd were you the one who killed all those nobles?â
Rael chuckled. âWhich one do you want answered truthfully?â
âBoth.â
âAlright then, I kidnapped your sisters, and I didnât kill any nobles,â Rael replied with a faint smirk. âIs that what you want to hear?â
Though, whoâd kidnap his sisters? Unless the Evangelists are acting, thatâd be a bit overkill⊠but leverage is leverage, Rael thought, gauging Reinhardtâs expression.
He was definitely agitated, but he was also taking it pretty calmly, despite it being a total lie.
But almost as if his prejudice against Rael was clouding his judgementt, he believed that Rael actually kidnapped his sisters.
Therefore, Reinhardt extended his hand in the air, and soon, a greatsword appeared that was literally the size of Rael.
And before Rael knew it, Reinhardt had swung it down.
There was a moment of time to react due to Rael being able to see one second into the future, but even soâŠ
[HP -3.52M! 1,147B/1.151B]
His body took the brunt of the slight wind blade, causing him to stumble backward. But Rael didnât panic in the slightest.
Instead, he straightened his back and asked one simple question.
âReinhardt. There wonât be any coming back from this if you do intend to continue. And if that is the case, I will kill you. So what will it be?â
The lack of response, and the fact that Reinhardt had dashed in with his claymore, spoke volumes.
So without further hesitation, Rael took out the Violin Blade from his inventory and tapped the red string a few times.
The notes flew out instantly, heading straight for Reinhardtâs body.
But to Raelâs surprise, Reinhardt managed to raise his greatsword in time and deflect the notes. All except for one.
-858M! Critical Hit! (1x Crystal Violin Blade)
Reinhardtâs armor caved in, but for some reason, he seemed unfazed.
And Rael immediately knew why.
âDid you, per chance, kill a lot of people before coming here? Those stats of yours sure are overpowered now, arenât theyââ
<Ding!>
Immediately, his vision darkened, and for a moment, Rael felt a strange, powerful pull bringing him downwards.
And when he finally reopened his eyes, he found himself in some murky black arena. The ground was solid, and there was a cage blocking them from leaving.
Yet what was more surprising was the fact that off in the stands, he could see several people wearing all sorts of masks, watching the two of them in complete and utter silence.
Rael couldnât inspect them, nor could he focus on them aside from their masks. It was almost as if they were mere shadows who were not exactly present at the moment.
Just as Rael thought that was the end of it, he heard a dull, echoing thud from the distance.
And once he turned around, he was met with a very familiar face.
The Hollow King, Kareth.
His curly hair fell down to the throne as he stared at Reinhardt and Rael with an amused look.
Yet he didnât say a word, not that he needed to.
After all, the intention of this arena being here was clear.
âHmm⊠look at the mess you got us into, Reinhardt,â Rael remarked with a sigh. âNow I definitely wonât be able to spare you.â
âSpare me?â Reinhardt scoffed. âFor going against Aztera, youâre going to die here, Rael Sutekh.â
âSure, sure.â Rael chuckled, and focused on the Hollow King, trying to inspect him.
And to his genuine surprise, he was able to.
âThe King of All That Is Hollow, Kareth ??? (Grade 8 Tyrant Class) [Level 2442] [??? HP/??? HP]
Oh⊠Raelâs eyes widened in shock.
To reach even Grade 1, the person had to accumulate enough feats and reach level 2,500.
If they were at that level but didnât have enough feats or achievements, theyâd be able to continue leveling up, yet have no option to Ascend.
But as for those who Ascended, they got significantly stronger.
The Grade system repeated itself with seemingly no limit to the amount of ascensions possible.
Reach level 2,500, have enough feats, ascend. Return to level 1 with their stats intact, and repeat the process all over again.
But even in the game, the highest Grade being he had seen was Grade 5, though they were merely a Commander-Class Ascender. That meant their feats only amounted to that much.
But despite his shock, he had to put those thoughts on hold.
After allâŠ
