Chapter 235: Entering His Dreams
The man stared at Rael for a few moments, his frown deepening.
âSo youâve met Alcetas. Did you two have a good chat?â he asked, narrowing his eyes. âI see your mind has been affected, but Iâm a bit surprised you managed to escape from him.â
âSo you really are one of those people he mentioned.â Rael sighed as he sat against the glass. âHey, whoâs the person youâre looking for?â
âHe even told you that muchâŠ?â the man muttered. âWell, you should know by now that I canât tell you such information.â
âDidnât you say you had a message for Rael?â Zafira chimed in with a frown.
âOh, thatâŠâ The man chuckled, turning to Rael. âMy master told me to recruit you peacefully. But since it seems like Alcetas failed, I donât really have anything left to deliver.â
Rael shrugged. âMaybe you do? Just relay your masterâs message. Because Alcetas went about it in a very bitchy way, thatâs why I declined.â
The man raised a brow, and after a few seconds of silence, he spoke.
âVery well. We need someone to acquire the Blazing Sun factionâs lost remnants. Whether itâs armor, weapons, or even skills. As long as you can get them, then transfer those remnants to our master, and youâll be handsomely rewarded. We would even back away from this planet, as the man weâre looking for wouldnât be necessary anymore.â
The man, huh? At least that narrows one part down, Rael noted the slip-up.
But there was one thing Rael was interested in.
âHow handsomely would I be rewarded?â
âVery.â The man affirmed. âYou thrive off money, yes? We have quadrillions in unused assets, and weâd be willing to give you more than you could ever imagine. But thatâs only if you accept and decide to work for us.â
âHmmâŠâ Rael fell into thought.
It was definitely not a bad deal, except for the fact that the Blazing Sun faction wasnât the kindest bunch in the sea. For all he knew, theyâd kill him right after he got all their artifacts.
And betrayal wasnât exactly an option, considering these people werenât just part of some low-level faction. In the grand scheme of things, they were most likely in the top 10 strongest factions in the entire universe.
So for someone who hadnât even ascended yet, trying something like that was suicide.
âHow many of you arrived on this world?â Rael asked. âAside from Alcetas and you, I mean.â
The man chuckled and turned his head away, no longer answering Raelâs questions.
âIt seems like Iâll have to leave it up to the fox to convince you. My job here is done,â the man said and simply lay down, staring at the glass ceiling. âYou may kill me now. Iâll be back soon.â
âHmm⊠no, I donât think I will,â Rael muttered as he stood up and turned to Zafira. âCan you lift the barrier? Thereâs something I want to do.â
âAre you sureâŠ? Heâs very strong. If I didnât have all those overpowered skills to help me, I wouldâve died,â Zafira replied.
A faint smirk appeared on Raelâs face as he showed Zafira the potion he bought.
âSleeping Potion (Rare)
Puts the user into deep sleep for 5 seconds. The user will not wake up under any circumstances in those 5 seconds.
It was the same potion he had used on Reinhardt, and it worked wonders.
So after seeing it, Zafiraâs eyes widened, then she nodded in determination.
âOkay. Iâll remove the barrier, but make sure to be careful. Heâs definitely capable.â
With those words, Zafira snapped her fingers, and in the next moment, the glass cage shattered.
Immediately, the man tried attacking Rael with a wave of bloodlust, yet he was unsuccessful as Rael simply took the potion out of Zafiraâs hands, approached the man, pried his mouth open and stuffed the entire potion inside.
He pushed it down, and when it was finally in his throat, Rael tightened his grip, shattering the potion and causing blood to spurt everywhere. Yet the man didnât die. Instead, with a hateful glare, he closed his eyes, and soonâŠ
â
<Yes/No>
â
âSee you in a bit.â Rael waved at Zafira and pressed âYesâ.
â
â
The same forceful feeling as last time ensued, and he was met with darkness and a few pop-ups like last time.
â
â
Bystander, huh? Rael mused. Last time it was Manifestation of Fear, but I guess a being such as this doesnât really fear anything. Plus, Iâd probably be killed. A bystander seems the safest.
With that in mind, Rael pressed on the Bystander option.
â
â
Thankfully, it reacted to his needs. Obviously, what he needed was to figure out how these fuckers knew about him and what their goals were.
Heâd be an idiot to believe they were only here to find some person. After all, it couldnât be a coincidence that both of them tried to recruit him at the same time.
Even so, Rael took a deep breath as his vision began to fade. It felt as if he was floating on water, but then he suddenly felt a pull downward.
And when he finally came to, he felt a heavy pressure weighing down on him, nearly forcing him to kneel.
â
â
<Youâve become a Bystander!>
