Alene let out a chuckle.

“Do you think this is some questionnaire? Just get it over with,” she said flatly. “You dealt how much? 2.63 trillion soul damage to Jashin?”

She scoffed. “That’s nothing. The only reason he was even hurt at all was because that idiot was too lazy to reinforce his soul. On the other hand… I won’t take as much damage, so just do it.”

“And how are you so sure I’m not just going to kill your daughters straight after I kill this avatar of yours?” Rael asked.

“Because you won’t,” Alene replied flatly. “If you do, then I’m going to do everything in my power to hunt your wife. I won’t stop until I kill them, and even if my soul is extinguished, I will make sure my remnants finish her off. That is a promise.”

His brows furrowed since he noticed she wasn’t lying.

I could just erase her memory of Zafira though…

At the same time, his eyes slightly lit up in a golden light, then faded back to the regular crimson.

It was completely black, and it resembled the Beast’s eye that he had eaten before he was thrust into this world.

Soon, a couple more eyes spawned, covering the entire mindscape as though they were stars.

He was puzzled by what was happening, but before he could ponder further, a single pop-up descended right in front of him.

A loading bar appeared in the sky, puzzling Rael further.

That eye was something he kept inside his inventory for a while, but he never had a use for it.

He read through it a couple of times, and only then did he make his decision.

The moment he finished his words, silence ensued, and it only lasted a few moments as another pop-up appeared.

“…” Rael rubbed his temples.

“The latent bloodline bit… did it belong to this body? Before I took it over, I mean.”

An empty pop-up appeared, but it soon began to fill with information.

“Tsk…” Rael rolled his eyes, then he asked another question.

“Why was the first fragment given to me so soon?”

It was one of the few questions he figured the system might actually answer, and, unsurprisingly, it only gave him more vagueness in return.

Rael thought, conflicted.

That meant the memory had always existed inside his mind, as did the bloodline, and apparently this body too.

It was always his.

He wanted to think about it more, but before he could, he suddenly lost vision in his right eye.
