Chapter 278: Yeti Boss
<You have left the Dimensional Market!>
Rael stepped onto the soil of the spatial crack with Zafira beside him.
They didnât linger too long in there, since there wasnât much to see.
But even so, he let out a sigh at the sheer absurdity of Marlenâs explanation.
âMonsters acting as Laws, and he created his own branch of blood magic that utilized artificial magic to escapeâŠâ Rael mumbled.
âYeah, I didnât understand a word you said,â Zafira chimed in.
âNeither did I,â Rael replied flatly. âI mean, I understood the gist of it, but creating his own magic? He did mention he was in there for centuries, but even so⊠Iâd assume it would take much longer than that.â
Zafira raised a brow. âDid he lie?â
Rael rolled his eyes. âNope. Every word that came out of his mouth was the truth. Though, Iâm not really sure what Iâm supposed to tell Alune. Hey⊠this guy that escaped the Depths a few years back wants in, and he also wants a Law that lets him study proper magicâŠâ
The two sighed in unison.
âLetâs just wait for Alune to come back,â Zafira remarked as she turned to the side, killing a monster in a single hit. âFor now, how about we go kill some more of these?â
A faint chuckle escaped Raelâs lips as he grabbed her by the waist and kicked off the ground, flying straight toward one of the other regions.
He couldnât spot any bossâor any elites, for that matter.
There were just some weak monsters that gave close to no experience.
But after what felt like hours, they finally stumbled upon something interesting.
It was a single monster in the middle of the snowy region, and it was a bitâŠ
âShadow Yeti (Grade 2 | Commander Class Boss) [Level 141] | Vitality: Tier 8 [100% / 100% HP]
Its HP was drastically higher, and the fact that it was a boss monster was a giant boon.
Therefore, Rael and Zafira exchanged glances before preparing a few attacks.
He struck his Violet String over and over again, forming another tsunami of notes. After a few minutes, he was done.
As for Zafira, a faint purple mana surrounded her sword, which made him slightly worried.
âZafira⊠wonât you lose your connection to the other elements if you keep using Chaos?â he asked.
âItâs fine.â She shook her head. âI donât really care about the other elements. Because of Anubisâs blessing, I got a Sun element, and since itâs a blessing, it will never go away.â
He whistled. âSo even if you lose everything, youâll still have the Sun and Chaos elements, eh? Not too shabby at all.â
Still, having finished their preparations, they gazed down at the monster from above.
It was alone, and it hadnât spotted them.
So when he finally sent out all of his notes, they impacted the monsterâs face straight on.
-12%! [1.22 Quadrillion] | Critical True Note (x1252 Crystal Violin Blade)
<Notice!>
<Your Crystal Violin Blade is at 50% durability!>
Ah⊠Iâll have to repair it soon,
Rael thought, watching as the monster finally reacted, glancing up at them with a furious expression.
Then, out of nowhere, it swung its arm toward them, sending an extremely powerful gust of wind.
It didnât deal any damage, howeverâŠ
<Skill: Wings of the Golden Fairy has been canceled!>
<Flight has been disabled.>
The two began falling, and as it seemed like they were about to crash into the ground, a familiar noise resounded.
âBzzzzzzzz
Raelâs mosquito wings held them up as they landed gently a few hundred meters away from the boss monster.
Zafira seemed pissed, and his wide grin only annoyed her further.
âHaha, see? The wings are pretty convenient, right?â Rael commented, then retracted his mosquito wings.
âThank you.â She sighed. âAnd after weâre back⊠Iâll give you enough money to buy an actual wings skill.â
âI donât mind free money, even if itâs from my wife,â Rael said as he kissed her on the forehead, then turned toward the boss monster.
It was steadily approaching them, but just as it was within 10 meters of them, Zafira raised her sword.
The ground parted immediately under her pressure as she swung the sword down.
The force behind the slash managed to sever the ground, creating a giant ravine in which the Yeti fell.
Though her damage wasnât all that great.
âShadow Yeti (Grade 2 | Commander Class Boss) [Level 141] | Vitality: Tier 8 [87% / 100% HP]
12% and 1%, hmm⊠how do we kill this thing
Rael wondered.
But that was when Zafira swung her sword again, causing the ravine to collapse onto itself, and of course, on the monster as well.
Silence ensued for a few moments, but it didnât last long as the ground rumbled again.
Seconds later, the Yeti dashed out of the ground, wings adorning its completely black fur.
Of course, it had entered Phase 2.
âThe Winged Shadow Yeti (Grade 2 | Commander Class Boss) [Level 141] | Vitality: Tier 9 [99% / 100% HP]
Since its HP had increased, all their efforts had been undone.
But that didnât matter, as Rael was planning on using something else entirely.
<You have transformed into: Partial Humanoid Dragon!>
<You have gained the following Temporary Skills: Dragonâs Breath (Ancient), Dragonâs Roar (Ancient), Dragonâs Fear (Exalted)>
<You have gained the Dragonâs signature Mana: Dragon Force.>
<Dragon Force (DF): 150/150>
Oh? Dragon Force increased by a bit.
Raelâs body began to change like before as white scales appeared, then a tiny tail, and finally, he had fully transformed.
âWowâŠâ Zafira muttered. âThis dragon form of yours really is a sight for sore eyes, isnât it?â
He chuckled and patted her head before turning his gaze toward the Yeti in the sky.
It was observing them cautiously, but its cautiousness was especially heightened after Raelâs transformation.
But it seemed like Zafira didnât want to be one-upped, as her black hair grew slightly longer and both of her eyes turned silver.
She began exuding a radiant aura, and without even needing to guess, he knew what it was.
Zafira had used her Colorless Goddess transformation.
A faint grin appeared on his face as he shot the Yeti a glance.
Yeah⊠youâre so fucked.
