Chapter 316: The Masochist Returns
<A Chosen One is nearby!>
No shit.
Rael rolled his eyes, staring at the colorful door in front of him.
Yet that wasnât even what actually surprised him. Instead, it was the thundering music that was literally shaking the entire building, and it was coming from none other than the room ahead of them.
âI thought electricity and all the other stuff stopped workingâŠ?â Jane mumbled.
âYou and me both,â Julian chimed in. âI remember trying all sorts of methods to get it working again, but not once was I successful. You can create sparks and all that stuff, but nothing comes from those sparks, you know?â
âNope, I have no idea what youâre saying,â Rael replied with a hum. âAnyways, the doorâs unlocked, letâs just go inside.â
âWait.â Jane raised a hand. âDo you really want to risk entering a womanâs house when she might be naked?â
âYes.â
Without a moment of hesitation, Rael swung the door open, and to his surprise, he saw Maria sleeping soundly on the sofa with a massive speaker beside her.
It was the same speaker that had been playing all this loud music, and upon closer look, Rael realized that it wasnât a normal speaker at all.
In fact, it had a wire at its back, and it was connected to some kind of magic staff.
It looked pretty ordinary, but if Rael had to guess, the staff was acting like some sort of electricity source, or maybe it was just a special item.
But he didnât bother much with it as he stepped forward and pinched Mariaâs nose.
After a few moments, her face turned red as her eyes shot open.
She was both startled and angered, but once she realized who it was, a smirk appeared on her face.
âMy my⊠to what do I owe this pleasurable visit?â Maria asked, her smirk widening. âHave you come to riddle me in holes like last time~?â
âWhatâŠ?â Jane muttered. âYou did what?â
âItâs a manner of speech,â Rael brushed it off. âI stabbed her.â
âHuh⊠I guess thatâs one way of flirting,â Julian mused, shooting Maria a glance. âLooks like itâs working too. Noted.â
Rael rolled his eyes at their behavior and turned back to Maria.
âIâve come here for the arena. Do you have any more information? I need it.â
âAdvance payment,â Maria replied as she turned her body around, revealing a partially naked back. âStab right down the middle, okay?â
âAs much as Iâd like to indulge in your masochistic fantasies, I might really kill you this time. Iâve leveled up a lot, so unless you have around 7 or 8 thousand HP, I wouldnât attempt it,â Rael said flatly.
âHP? You mean that big number? Mineâs at 58,550 right now. Just do it already,â Maria replied, kicking her feet up in anticipation.
58,550? Seriously?
Jane let out a sigh. âThis is so wrong. You sure there isnât some better way⊠or someone else we can ask instead of this woman?â
Rael shrugged and pulled out his glowing blue sword, embedding it straight into her back, narrowly missing her spine.
-4,422!
âAah~â Maria clutched the sheets. âOnce more⊠come on!â
Raelâs brows twitched.
Fucking hellâŠ

.
A few minutes had passed and now, Maria was lying on her blood-soaked bed, her expression⊠expressive.
Rael wiped the blood off his sword on her sofa, sheathed it, and sat beside her.
âWilling to talk now?â Rael said and gestured for Julian to heal her.
Julianâs eyes were still wide, almost as if he was in shock, yet he still approached her and healed her.
Within moments, her complexion returned to normal as she sat up and glanced at Rael.
âThat arena⊠I donât really have much new information,â she said sheepishly.
Rael facepalmed. âSo you made me go through all that for nothing?â
âI was the one who went through it,â Maria replied with a pout. âBut hey, I said I didnât have much, that doesnât mean I donât have anything.â
She cleared her throat.
âBasically, we got another update on the scenario a week ago. We were assigned our teams. I got some woman called Alisa Yuu, and a dude who goes by the name Rain,â Maria explained as she tried to lean in closer to Rael, but with a simple palm, he pushed her back.
Her pout grew, but she still continued.
âThere was a pair of coordinates⊠I guess a place to meet up. Itâs supposed to happen today, but Iâm not going. No way am I trusting those people,â Maria added with a sigh. âThatâs about the extent of the news.â
She leaned in slightly, a cheeky grin appearing on her face. âSo? Can I get a rewardââ
âNope,â Rael shot her down. âYouâve already gotten plenty. Just give us the coordinates, weâll meet them in your stead.â
âHuh? Wait, youâre really planning on going?â Maria asked, puzzled. âYou do know itâs probably a trap, right? I mean⊠those people probably wonât go either since theyâre going to be wary of each other.â
âThatâs fine, I just want to see where it is,â Rael replied.
She looked him up and down before slightly grumbling.
âGosh⊠youâre foolish. But since youâre going, then I guess I have to go as well,â Maria announced as she stood up and walked toward another room. âIâll put on a new pair of clothes since you dirtied my previous pair. Iâll leave my door open, but donât peek, okay?â
Rael rolled his eyes.
This woman is too big of a pervert.
âDo you really think we can trust her?â Jane asked, unconvinced. âShe seems like someone whoâd stab you in the back for pleasure⊠or fall onto your sword in the middle of battle.â
âI think so too,â Julian said with a chuckle. âThough itâs a wonder. I never knew these types of women exist, I shouldâve really broadened my scope earlierââ
His words were interrupted by a bonk over the head by none other than Jane.
âDonât get any funny ideas,â she said coldly.
Julian rubbed his head with a frown before turning away.
As for Rael, he patiently sat on the couch, waiting for Maria to finish changing.
