Chapter 343: Demon Eggs
Noticing his furrowed brows, Lilith burst out laughing.
âHahaha⌠Iâm just kidding. Weâre not really married, but what you did at the end there was basically an engagement.â
âWhat? Touching horns? Isnât that what we were supposed to do in the first place?â Rael asked.
Lilith held back a laugh. âWe were supposed to stand beside each other and wave at the crowd. Our horns wouldâve formed a crown, but⌠pfft⌠you proposed instead.â
ââŚâ
He remembered the way her cheeks flushed when he did it, so it was a bit hard to ignore.
After all, she had this distinct way of showing vulnerability, and even someone who didnât know her could see it.
Sarcasm.
âItâs fine.â Lilith patted his shoulder with a distant smile. âI know you didnât mean it. So donât worry about it.â
Raelâs brows twitched slightly as she finally let go of his shoulder and summoned two chairs from her inventory.
âSit. Also, check your status. The Demonic Lands shouldâve been added.â
Rael snapped out of his momentary daze and glanced at his status screen.
Moments later, he found the management interface and opened it up.
Immediately, his eyes widened.
Holy shit

ââŚHow is this even possible?â
Lilith giggled. âWhat? Did you think the demons do nothing but plague the lands? Weâre the ones doing most of the dungeon clearing on this blasted continent. Plus, the Cave of Maw is a dungeon that resets every single day, so every single time we go into it and clear it, we come out with at least a billion Trell in items.â
Raelâs eyes widened. âWhat about the taxpayers thenâŚ? Everyoneâs a taxpayer? Even children?â
âChildren are not really children,â Lilith said, tilting her head. âThe moment we demons are born, we know how to fight, how to kill, and how to survive in whatever environment we find ourselves in.â
She let out a sigh. âUnlike normal pregnancies, we hatch from eggs. But depending on the status of a demon, they might be discarded as an egg, tossed into a distant planet, and forced to survive by themselves. Frankly⌠most of the demons in the Demonic Lands are those who were discarded.â
Raelâs expression turned darker. âDoes that include you?â
âMe? HmâŚâ Lilith fell into thought, crossing her legs. âI wasnât discarded, but I was abandoned. I⌠I used to live in Hell a very long time ago.â
She wanted to stop talking, but upon seeing his curious expression, she continued.
âIâm the Demon Kingâs child⌠the actual Demon King. The one in myths and legends,â Lilith announced. âI was supposed to share his bloodline, but I didnât inherit it. Even after years and years went by, there were no changes.â
âIn the end, my siblings shunned me and called me names, even my father, the Demon KingâŚâ Lilith clenched her fists tightly. âHe thought I was a bastard child⌠and because of that, he executed my mother.â
All of a sudden, a thick murderous intent spread throughout the air, threatening to suffocate him.
But with a single breath, Rael was able to dispel that pressure as he continued listening to her.
âI couldnât take it anymore, being shunned by my siblings⌠the people I considered family, so after devising a plan, I ran away.â Lilith sank into her chair. âI ran and ran, avoiding pursuers from Hell until eventually, I ended up in this world, in this particular continent.â
A faint smile returned on her face.
âI found Darkness Demons hiding in the shadows, afraid of the humans, so I stepped up and conquered a small piece of the continent. I gave the demons a home, and in return, I received eternal gratitude.â
Lilith slowly turned her gaze toward him and let out a chuckle.
âSorry for the sob story. I just wanted to get it off my chest.â
âItâs alright,â Rael assured. âIâm glad you trust me enough to share something so private.â
Lilith shrugged. âWell, weâre going to be long-term partners from here on, so thereâs no point hiding it, is there? AlsoâŚâ
She tapped her curved horn, and in the next moment, it straightened, losing its previous spiral appearance.
At the same time, it began emitting a strange, almost intoxicating energy, as if it were sucking him in the longer he stared at it.
Is she
âIâm not really a Darkness Demon. Iâm a Calamity Demon⌠just without the special bloodline,â Lilith said with a smile. âWhen I first arrived at this place, I met Iradan. He was an excellent alchemist even back then, and he managed to brew a potion that altered my appearance and masked my actual race.â
Raelâs brows twitched, but before he could speak, Lilith interjected.
âI know what you might be thinking, but no. To brew that same potion again would take centuries. And even then, you wouldâve had to deal with the side effects that followed,â she said, not getting into details. âAnd the simple transformation potion you have right now wouldnât have worked. You didnât have the demonâs essence.â
She leaned in, placing a hand on his chest.
âWith each heartbeat, you radiate your demonic authority. You canât replicate that⌠not normally anyway.â
Rael took her words to heart and, though it was a little too late, checked the premium shop, looking for the potion sheâd described.
To his surprise, there werenât any potions like that, only weak ones similar to the one he had drunk.
âAnywayâŚâ Lilith leaned back in her chair. âAre you satisfied with how everything turned out?â
âIâm not sureâŚâ Rael replied. âIt feels likeâŚâ
He disliked how it turned out.
The coronation was a success, but her backstory rubbed him the wrong way. Especially because there was only one path where he walked out of here satisfied.
âLilith?â
âYesâŚ?â
âWhat is your fatherâs bloodline called?â Rael asked, his expression hardening.
A faint frown crossed her face, but it quickly faded.
âItâs called The Bloodline of the Ancient Calamity⌠why?â
Rael nodded and turned his attention elsewhere.
He scrolled through the premium shop, but upon not finding it there, he tried the Premium Inheritance perk instead.
To his surpriseâŚ
[Tier 8â10] Bloodlines:
Old King of Demons Bloodline: 473,000,000,000 Trell
Jesterâs Bloodline: 561,000,000,000 Trell
Titan God Bloodline: 678,000,000,000 Trell
The Bloodline of the Ancient Calamity: 999,000,000,000 Trell
<Expand for more>
Raelâs fingers trembled as he turned toward Lilith and flashed a slight smile.
âSay⌠You wouldnât happen to have 1 trillion Trell lying around, would you?â
