Chapter 522: Web
[Thatāsā¦] Gaia mumbled. [It might be possible. There exists a Mana Core that was used in the past. People stopped using it because the systems we received were a better alternative.]
Oh? Rael smiled. So it is possible. Okay, how do I go about it then?
[Lead the black mana into one of your vital organs,] Gaia replied immediately. [Itās similar to how you cast skills, so simply choose whichever you want. You could go for the brain, eyes, horn, or whichever part you want. If anything, you can even go for the throat so you could use Burgerās Draconic words, or the lungs for Vatyraās ability.]
[If only he ever comes around to learning them,] Burger chimed in with a scoff. [But eh, the choice is obvious, isnāt it?]
Of course it was. Ever since Rael heard he could choose which part he wanted to form the core in, he had already looked at the brain.
Against strong people, mental damage and mind possession were his greatest assets. With strength alone, he couldnāt fight against them as he would always be overwhelmed. But with his mind, he could at the very least put up a solid fight.
Well, at least I should be able to hold out long enough against a Grade 5 to escape, and I should be able to instantly kill a Grade 4⦠But then thereās the Fear bonus from my horn. The Calamity Swordsmanship, if stacked, could probably allow me to instantly kill a Grade 5.
He was in a dilemma when all of a sudden, Burger suggested an idea.
[Well, if youāre having such trouble, why not create two cores? Make them two halves, one in the base of your horn and the other inside your brain. When your horn is withdrawn, youād be at full power since the cores would be connected. When itās out, you would still have a massive power-up.]
āā¦ā
I donāt have the time to hesitate⦠Alright, Burger, I allow you toā
[Donāt worry, for my genius suggestion, Iāve already taken a 50 Premium Coin fee. Pleasure doing business with you~] Burger added.
Raelās brows twitched. Gaia, help me revoke Burgerās access to my money later.
[Will do.]
With that over and done with, Rael focused on the black mana that had been rushing from his stomach into his heart.
It only took him a single second to figure out how to reverse the flow, and of course, he did just that, navigating the black mana directly up to his brain.
He felt slightly numb, but it didnāt stop the mana from overflowing into his brain.
Nonetheless, he didnāt just sit around and wait to become a vegetable. Instead, he inspected his brain and realized that the demonic horn actually connected directly to the center of his brain.
Huh⦠Aināt that convenient⦠But hey⦠This might sound a bit stupid, but does a core have to be a circle? Rael asked.
He didnāt get an answer, and it was probably because of the black mana interfering with his brain.
However, he didnāt need to think about it too much. After all, creating a slightly longer line would solve the issue of his power splitting.
He had molded the black mana into the shape of a line, but he very quickly realized that it wasnāt that efficient.
Right as he was about to try something else, he realized a portion of the black mana split away from the line, and to his surprise, formed a small spiderweb. At first, he didnāt think much of it, but when he focused on the spiderweb, he realized how efficiently the mana traveled back and forth along each thin thread of web.
Rael ran a couple more tests by infusing more mana into the spiderweb, and before he knew it, the single line he had made earlier vanished, replaced by 50 thin threads of webbing covering his entire brain.
Some of those lines wrapped themselves around his horn. He retracted the horn from his head, and to his surprise, the thin threads had enough elasticity to not break when the horn moved in and out of his head.
He did a couple more tests: using skills through the horn, using mind abilities on Solenneās shadow, which hadnāt moved since he started this whole process.
Would Gaia or the others slap the shit out of him for this idea? Maybe.
Was it damn efficient? Yep.
So with that in mind, Rael proceeded to spend the next few seconds, which soon turned into minutes, then hours, simply dragging all the black mana into the spiderweb he had formed out of 50 thin threads.
He could make more threads, which might guarantee a quick power boost, but he had played one too many games to know that foundation was the most important aspect when gaining power.
So all the black mana went into reinforcing his spiderweb.
Rael wasnāt sure how long it took, but at some point, the black mana stopped flowing from his stomach. A small portion entered the heart, and then what remained finally reached the spiderweb.
And almost as if a switch had been flipped inside his mind, Rael felt a sudden connection form with the spiderweb. Not only that, a few pop-ups entered his sight as well.

āEffects:
1. Distributed Mana Flow: Instead of a single channel of mana, power travels along 50 threads, reducing mana cost and increasing ability efficiency/sustainability exponentially.

2. Threaded Mind: Thought speed and reflexes increased by x50.
3. Dual Horn-Brain Resonance: Fear-based abilities and Mental Damage amplify each other exponentially.
4. Linked Casting: Skills and abilities may be channeled through multiple threads at once, overlapping their effects and producing mutations. Skill power increases by +1,000% for each thread utilized during skill casting, up to a maximum of +50,000% (Current).
5. Evolving Darkness (Special): Your Neural Core was forged with the essence of the strongest shadow. Unlike standard cores, it has no fixed structure or limit. Each new thread can be forcibly created by feeding the web with resources (Mana, MTP, Dragon Force, Trell, Platinum Coins, Premium Coinsā¦)
Current Threads: 50 / ā

This is⦠Holy shit⦠Rael thought in amazement, and just then, he realized his God Mode had completely run out.
So now, the shadow that had become a punching bag a while ago finally stood up and glanced at Rael with a blank expression.
Slowly, the shadowy features faded, and bit by bit were replaced by the appearance of a frail young girl. She had golden locks that spanned down to her feet and piercing golden eyes, which, despite their intensity, didnāt stare at him with malice.
But despite thatā¦
