Chapter 703: End of Dinner

It didn’t take very long for them to finish the food, since evidently, by how much Gaia ate, Rael knew that she enjoyed this dinner to the fullest.

So did he, since this was the first time he had seen and talked to her when she wasn’t just inside his head as an illusion.

Now, she had her own body, and a high enough rank that made her nearly invincible in the grand scheme of things.

For that, Rael was extremely satisfied.

But he also knew that her current form must have some sort of limits.

Anyhow…

“So how are you feeling after all that food?” Rael asked.

Gaia sipped on a glass of wine and, after setting it down, met his gaze.

“I feel relatively fine. I don’t feel hungry anymore, and my powers seem to be steadily coming back. I believe we can go back now, if nothing else is amiss.”

Rael’s head hurt slightly by how formal she was being.

Still, since this was Gaia, he rolled with it.

“I’m down. Can we get back to the Dralgur Continent through whatever this world is? Or must we go back through Yggdrasil again?”

Gaia tilted her head.

“We would need to go back through Yggdrasil. This world we’re in is a little special to me, so I wouldn’t want anyone finding out about it. Creating a spatial mana trace would bring chaos down onto this world, after all.”

Rael flinched slightly.

“Let’s say I teleported and moved very fast several times, as well as gave someone something from the Premium Shop. Would that be an issue?”

To his surprise, she shook her head.

“Something minor like that won’t change anything. However, if you accidentally moved at the speed of light, or teleported out of the world from within it, then that would be an issue.”

She then pointed at his forehead.

“The Premium Shop, although it sends one object from another plane, goes through an organized system. It doesn’t leave a trace.”

Rael nodded in understanding, and with that, he turned toward Anna, who was happily eating the leftover bones from the chicken and turkey.

But once she noticed his gaze, she immediately stopped.

“What?”

“Nothing… Are you ready to leave?”

Anna rolled her eyes.

“I would prefer another batch of food, but if you want to leave so badly, I suppose we can.”

How haughty…

Though, since that was done, they were really ready to leave in that case.

“Oh, right, Gaia. What kind of world is this? I saw myself and a few other notable faces,” he asked.

Gaia’s expression hardened slightly.

She pondered over it for a few moments, thinking of the best way to reply.

“It’s… It’s a project of mine.”

“You see, the world, as you’ve seen it, is in its happiest day, and it has been like that for several eons.”

“That day has the least amount of crimes, deaths, and it also has the most births, marriages, and confessions.”

She let out a sigh.

“In a way, it’s perfection. This day looped for that long, but… since you intervened, I suppose the happy days are over. The world will return to normal and become yet another regular world amongst the many in the endless starry sky.”

Although she was being oddly poetic, Rael was still a little shocked by the revelation.

This world did seem unique since the first moment he saw it.

But unique to the point where it was a perfect, endless day?

He wasn’t sure how to feel about that.

“What was the purpose of this project?”

Gaia smiled.

“It’s one of my many secrets that I am unwilling to disclose.”

“I see…”

It was a pity.

But since this world existed, Rael knew he could enter it at will and take a look every now and again.

So he would definitely come back here.

Still, with everything over and done with, Rael got rid of the table, and the moment he did, Gaia snapped her fingers, creating a small hole that led to Yggdrasil.

He was a little curious how this didn’t break the rules Gaia had already mentioned.

Either way, the three of them stepped through and found themselves back on the cloudy floor of Yggdrasil.

“Now how do we get down?” Rael questioned.

Instead of responding, Gaia pointed ahead.

When he followed her finger and realized what she was pointing at, he froze.

There were at least several hundred Ancient Primordials lined up side by side.

Loki was among them, and also a couple more powerhouses that Rael couldn’t even hope to defeat alone.

“It appears they’ve been waiting for us,” Gaia pointed out. “There’s so many of them too. They brought very powerful Ancient Primordials this time around.”

Rael’s brow twitched at how nonchalant Gaia was being.

Sure, he knew she was a Grade 14 powerhouse, but would that make a difference when there were so many other enemies?

Anyhow, it seemed like he’d need to do some talking.

He stepped forward and approached Loki, who stood a few hundred meters in front of the rest of the Ancient Primordials.

Loki coincidentally stepped forward too, meeting Rael halfway.

“Hey there.” Loki waved with a smile.

Rael rolled his eyes.

“I appreciate the entourage, but don’t you think this is a little rude? Bringing so many soldiers while there’s only the three of us.”

“Why don’t you create a couple billion constructs to challenge us then?” Loki suggested. “We might even struggle a little bit. That should bridge the gap a little.”

Rael shook his head.

If he really summoned that many, then he wouldn’t be able to see the battlefield at all.

And since he couldn’t be reckless, he just needed to deal with them as is.

“I take it there’s no way we can negotiate a way where we can peacefully leave, and you can peacefully fuck off, yes?” Rael asked for clarification.

Loki’s smirk widened to the point it looked unnatural.

“Negotiations are only plausible when one side doesn’t have an overwhelming advantage. I apologize, Rael Sutekh, but you’ll have to die today.”
