Chapter 771: Bye Byes
It didnât take long for Rael and Nyx to arrive back at Victoriaâs throne room, but almost like he had been away for a very long time, the other Dragon Gods had already made their way back home, and only Indra remained alongside his wife.
For some reason, Astaroth and Indra were engaged in a conversation, and if Rael didnât know any better, heâd say the two of them had somehow become friends.
Was that really it?
Rael approached the table from behind and coughed.
All four of them turned toward him instantly.
Indraâs body stiffened, since he was clearly still intimidated by Rael.
But as for Astaroth and the others, they were pretty calm.
âLook who decided to show up after a while. Let me guess, you went ahead and did those trials?â Astaroth asked.
Rael shrugged.
âIt took a bit longer than I expected, but yeah. Iâm done with them, and all Iâm going to say is that you wonât enjoy them very much.â
ââŠWhat did you do?â Astaroth asked. âDid you mess with that being or something?â
It seemed like Astaroth had read him like a book.
ThoughâŠ
âIt wasnât my fault. He was just way too cranky. Also, he didnât like how I became the Dragon God, and after I gave him a piece of my mind, he just sent me back here and said that if I wanted to fix the problems, Iâd need to beat the shit out of him first.â
Every single person at the table just stared at Rael with widened eyes, until Indra decided to speak up.
âP-Pardon me, but you donât mean Sir Braum, right? Did you meet someone else?â
âBraum? Yeah. Thatâs the one,â Rael replied, smiling like a saint.
And that only made the others even more concerned about him.
Even so, Astaroth was the first to get over it, since he knew just how abnormal Rael was.
Both in mind, and, wellâŠ
âYouâre an idiot.â
âSure.â
âNo. I mean seriously. Youâre an idiot,â Astaroth repeated. âYou pretty much just made an enemy out of that guy. Youâre screwed, and I mean this kindly. Heâs as powerful as the Higher Gods, if not more.â
Rael just shrugged and brushed it off.
Honestly, he knew how this conversation would proceed, so Rael just raised his hand and stopped it right there.
âIf youâre going to keep calling me an idiot and ask about Braum, then you can gently fuck off. By that, I mean shut up. What happened after I left?â
Astaroth was about to reply, but Victoria was the one to do so instead.
âWe came to an arrangement of sorts.â
âElaborate?â
She nodded.
âAfter you left, there were some lingering troubles. For one, we did not become Dragon Gods legitimately. It wasnât through earning the respect of those around us, but through intimidation.â
Thatâs fair.
And Rael was a bit sorry about that.
But had he not done it, they wouldâve needed to wait a year before getting any sort of answer.
âSo what? Did you all talk it out?â
She nodded once again.
âWe did. Rain and Indra agreed to make us Dragon Gods after we set our differences aside. In the end, weâre now actually Dragon Gods. Thanks for the help.â
At least someone appreciated him.
Unlike AstarothâŠ
Rael had the urge to call him Burger again, but he refrained.
After all, he was now starting a new life of sorts, so Rael didnât want to bring up the past.
Well, not yet.
âRael, is it?â Indra said, meeting his gaze. âDo you mind if we spar sometime?â
Rael stared back at him for a moment, then simply shrugged.
âWhy not. Iâll probably be coming around here often with my kid if all goes well. Astarothâs here too, so yeah. If you come around every now and again, I can beat you up a few times.â
Indra let out a chuckle and nodded.
Just then, he got a bonk from his wife, who then glared at Rael.
âYou should learn restraint, or you might not survive in the future.â
âHm? Well, I think Iâve pretty much pissed off every single person I could, so learning restraint now isnât very valuable. Either way, if you finished your tea party, you know where the door is.â
Although there were no doors, as the whole mountain was pretty much destroyed, Rael got his point across anyway.
And so, not wanting to argue, Indra and his wife stood up, said their goodbyes to Astaroth and Victoria, then finally flew away.
Yet when they left, Rael spotted a single red flower on Indraâs seat which smelled really nice.
Rael chuckled at the sight, picked up the flower, and then placed it in the center of the table after making sure it wasnât some kind of tracking or listening chip.
âSeems like youâre preparing to leave. Is it time to say goodbye for us as well?â Astaroth asked.
âMissing me already?â Rael replied with a cheeky grin. âMy⊠I didnât know you felt that way about me.â
A disgusted look appeared on Astarothâs face.
âDonât do that ever again.â
âMy bad.â
Astaroth let out a chuckle, then gave Rael the middle finger.
âYou can make your merry way now. I got you added to my friend list, so Iâll invite you to the wedding.â
Rael raised a brow.
âRight⊠I kind of forgot youâre going to get married. I guess thereâll be little Burgers running around soon.â
ââŠâ
It looked like Astaroth wanted to strangle Rael and toss him into a pit of lava.
Even so, Rael just smiled and eventually turned around.
He swung his hand downward, and a small portal appeared, leading toward Celestara.
Nyx was the first to go through, whereas Rael stuck around for a few moments and waved at Astaroth, who didnât wave back.
Rael always knew Astaroth was a tsundere.
Hehe.
Rael took a deep breath, and with a determined expression on his face, he finally stepped through the portal, arriving back in Celestara.
