Chapter 782: Going Back

Rael slid across the ground and then kicked off, arriving in front of Nyx. In the next instant, he sank half of his body into the Mirror Realm, and the other half remained in the normal world.

Nyx matched his energy and did the same. Yet when the two of them struck each other, both of them bounced back. That was because in the split second that the two of them were in the Mirror Realm, they tried to deceive one another.

And when Rael caught onto what she was doing, he managed not only to negate her attack, but also to strike her across the face and send her flying into the distance.

After a couple hundred years of doing this, Rael realized something.

Fighting in the Mirror Realm wasn’t much about technique, but rather, timing.

If he timed it right, and deceived his opponent, he could strike them. Obviously, seeing the future was a bit of an annoyance, but Rael realized that if he expelled his mana forward and imitated his body and movement, he could trick future sight.

Considering it was a possibility that he would actually move there, the future sight basically filtered it as actual movement, and thus showed the outcome of him moving forward, while ignoring what was actually happening.

Of course, it was much easier said than done, and it took Rael nearly 10 years of getting his ass whooped to eventually get it down. And now, several hundred years later, he was sure he managed to master deception.

It’s a bit annoying how everyone used to do this to me before, and I thought they were some geniuses. It was really just that simple,

Rael thought with a sigh.

“Anyways, are you sure you don’t want to go back yet?”

Nyx wiped the blood off her lips and smirked.

“It might be time. You seem plenty ready. But did you have to aim for my beautiful face?”

“Just like how you’ve aimed for my balls for the last couple of years? You know, if I can’t have kids because of you, I’m going to hold you accountable,” Rael retorted.

Nyx let out a giggle.

“Don’t worry, your balls are fine. I made sure of that myself while you were sleeping.”

“…You damn pervert.”

“Hehe. Yeah. I’m just kidding. Since you don’t have organs, your balls should be the least of your worries.” Nyx quickly tied her hair in a bun and added:

“Rather, you’ve gotten pretty strong now. I’m sure if you ever fight someone in the Mirror Realm, you wouldn’t be a helpless little chick like the first time we fought.”

A proud look appeared on Rael’s face. Though he still wasn’t sure how to feel about Nyx. She was a big straightforward pervert, and the longer he spent with her, the more he realized she was just a bored woman.

So bored, in fact, that when he opened the Premium Shop and brought up comics, she went ahead and ordered 10 erotic mangas to read. Coincidentally, she finished all 10 of them in a day.

Rael was a little scared what would happen if he actually fell asleep.

“Did you grow at all power-wise?” Nyx asked. “Like, did your stats increase?”

At first, time seemed to move slowly, but as the hundreds of years he spent inside finally caught up to the outside, time resumed to normal.

And, aside from the tummy ache, he was all good.

Rael sighed.

“Wow… I really do feel like shit,” Nyx said, rubbing her brows. “It looks like the Mirror Realm and frozen time don’t mesh well. If you don’t mind, I’m going to go use your toilet.”

Before he could say another word, Nyx vanished out of sight.

And so, while she was gone, doing her own business, Rael decided to go back to the throne room and relax for a bit.

He had been relaxing for quite a while now, and he knew it was only a matter of time before someone came over and ruined everything.

But until then, Rael wanted to enjoy this peace.

He confidently walked through the hallways of the palace, and finally, he reached the throne room and stepped inside.

And just like Vatyra said, Rael immediately saw Anastasia. She was resting on the throne, and when she spotted him, her brows furrowed.

“Did you come to take my place?”

“Well… I thought of doing some paperwork, but since you’re here, maybe I shouldn’t?”

“…”

It felt like all the light had drained from her eyes. Though, Rael was a little confused. Wasn’t she someone who had previously ruled over a much larger territory? Why was she finding something like this difficult?

But when Rael looked closer, he realized that her emotions were stable, and all she was feeling was boredom. Clearly, she was trying to weasel her way out of this position.

“You know, Anastasia, I’m surprised you actually came here with me.”

She tilted her head slightly.

“What’s this about?”

Since she wanted him to get straight to the point, that was what he did.

“I’m not actually the Supreme Beast. Or at least, that’s what everyone’s been saying lately. If anything, I might be some kind of avatar, or someone who’s really just inheriting his legacy. By that, I mean that your revenge against me, and the fight I promised, are irrelevant.”

Hearing that, Anastasia just sat there in silence for a few moments, until she slowly stood up, approached him, and stared straight into his eyes.

“Who decided that?”
