[âŠ]
[I can hear you. And yes, itâs me.]
Her voice was now just like Rael remembered, and thankfully, judging by how clearly she spoke, nothing had happened to her.
On the contrary, she actually seemed especially lively.
Was she lazing off?
[I can still read your mind, you know? And no, Iâm not lazing off. Iâm currently in the process of trying to break into the Far Lands, but the process is proving to be a little trickier than I had expected,] Gaia said.
After a brief pause, she added:
[But I will have your last fragment soon. Donât worry.]
Rael shook his head and let out a sigh.
Come back home. Iâll get it soon. Also, the Divine Realm has begun their attack.
[They⊠What? Already?]
Rael could feel Gaiaâs anger through their connection.
[I had predicted theyâd only start their attack in a few years at the earliest. What did they do?]
Heh.
They sent a few thousand planet destroyers at me, so I went ahead and bought all of them, then detonated them in the Divine Realm. As it so happens, planet destroyers are very effective when it comes to killing powerful beings and destroying stuff.
Though it clearly said that in the name.
Granted, those things wouldnât have been able to kill the Ancient Primordials had Rael not stacked a metric fuck ton of them in one place.
Either way, the outcome resulted in his victory this time around.
[Iâll be back in a few minutes. As for the final fragment⊠You might be the only person whoâs able to enter the Far Lands willingly,] Gaia said.
Rael was a little confused by her words.
Still, he nodded and then opened his eyes.
The connection faded.
But only after a few more minutes, Rael felt the connection return, and it was much stronger than before.
In fact, the connection was standing right outside of his door.
Rael approached his door, and when he unlocked it, he saw Gaia, as well as Anna standing right behind her.
Surprisingly, Anna had grown a little taller than before. As for Gaia, she still looked the same.
âEyes up here.â
Gaia corrected him, lifting his chin slightly.
Then she said:
âIâd give you all the fragments, but I have a feeling youâre going to accidentally be pulled inside the Memory Record if you consume them in such a large quantity.â
Thatâs fair.
âWonât I still have to consume them later, though?â
Gaia nodded.
âYes, but by then, youâll have all of them, and youâll be able to use them in a special way. Iâll teach you the way later. For now, I want to do some reconnaissance from here, as I am curious what the next actions of the Divine Realm might be.â
âWell⊠I donât think thereâll be much of a Divine Realm left in a few minutes,â Rael admitted. âBut sure, take a seat wherever youâd like.â
She immediately stepped past him and sat on his bed.
As for Anna, she just stood there, awkward as always.
But right as he thought she might just follow along with Gaia, she suddenly spoke.
âI have recalled a few important details about Solenne that might interest you.â
âAnna. What did I say about talking formally?â Gaia chimed in from the side.
Anna lowered her head.
âI found some dirt on Solenne. Do you want to hear it?â
âPfftâŠâ
That didnât sound like her at all.
âIâm all ears, Anna.â
She nodded at him and then gestured off to the side. The side, of course, was the living room where Nyx was currently working.
Rael shook his head and instead led her to his second living room at the other end of his home. Since it wasnât the main living room, it was empty.
And so, Rael and Anna sat down on the sofa. She got comfortable and then finally began explaining.
âIt turns out Solenne and Lucien had made a pact together. In that pact, Lucien is considered Solenneâs master, and she canât disobey.â
Rael tilted his head slightly.
âThat wonât excuse her from everything she did, but that isnât all of it, is it?â
She shook her head and added:
âActually, she had already broken the pact. Instead, she had forced Lucien into a pact on her terms. In that pact, she can make one wish of him, and as for Lucien, he canât do anything to her or her army.â
Before Rael could reply, she said:
âHowever⊠he managed to find a loophole, then kill her. He revived her, manipulated her memories, and essentially made her think of him as her father, not her brother. And lastly, he sealed her past lifeâs memories away.â
Rael already knew the bit about her being his âsisterâ turned âdaughter.â What he was more interested in, however, was the part about the wish.
âCould you elaborate on the wish?â
She nodded.
âShe can ask anything, and Lucien would need to grant it. Basically, if she asked for him to destroy the multiverse, heâll do it. At least, thatâs how I remember him explaining it.â
Then she raised a single finger.
âHowever, she canât wish for him to die. Basically, anything that would force him into a death route is not allowed.â
But a multiverse deletion was?
Sure, Rael thought highly of Lucien, but if he can exist in multiple multiverses at a time, then how exactly would he benefit from destroying the multiverse?
I can deal damage to him because all of my attacks are considered Cosmic Damage, but stillâŠ
It was weird.
âSo if I manage to get Solenneâs memory back, sheâd be able to basically wish the Divine Realm away?â
âThatâs right. But I can assure you, you wonât be able to restore her memory easily, since youâre dealing with Lucien. His mind abilities are better than yours, and to top it all off, heâs most likely waiting for you to make a move,â Anna said, then lowered her head slightly.
âAfter all⊠I believe thereâs a reason why I got these memories so suddenly.â
