CapĂtulo 820: The Origin of Rael [ 2 ]
âThough you obviously far surpassed everything I had offered you. If anything, you have the potential to be a very powerful being, if not the most powerful.â
With those words, the Supreme Beast continued:
âSurvived the causality of inevitable death. Does that ring a bell? Well, the system kind of glitched out. You were technically born, but since your birth took eons, you were basically dead all that time. Once you were eventually born, the system didnât know what feat to give you, so it just gave you that.â
Rael tilted his head.
âDidnât it say that youâre related to this?â
The Supreme Beast shook his head.
âI was just the catalyst for the reason. Had I not intervened and given it a reason, the system mightâve deleted that feat. Anyhow⊠I get that you want to ask plenty of questions, but Iâll just tell it to you straight here.â
He once again cleared his throat and said:
âEven though you were once who you were, that doesnât mean youâre not real. Youâre your own person, and despite having some of my memories, that doesnât change much. In the end, the people you love and cherish are the same people who love you back for who you are.â
âSo yeah, donât think too much about it. If anything, donât think about it at all. Instead, focus everything you have on getting stronger and doing all sorts of other things. After all, you are limiting yourself to only one outcome. The universe is giant, and threats like Lucien and Solenne are just peas in a pod.â
The Supreme Beast let out a chuckle.
âI know the path to a higher realm, but as it stands, Iâm way too weak to go there. If you get strong enough, Iâll show it to you and your wives. If thatâs what you want, of course.â
ââŠI guess.â
Rael paused for a moment before sighing. He wished the Supreme Beast would just stop talking and give him some sort of silver lining, since as it stood, he was way too skeptical of everything now.
Though at the very leastâŠ
âDonât worry about the wife issue. The wives you have now arenât the same wives I used to have. Actually, what am I even saying? I was loyal to my one and only wife, unlike you, big jackass walking around with his harem.â
Clearly, he was trying to cheer Rael up. But as it stood, Rael just smiled at him and continued sulking. He felt like he had a lot more questions to ask, but then again, every answer would also make him that much more depressed.
So he chose to just shut up for now and process everything at his own pace.
In a way, when he first came to this world, his name was Unnamed. That made a lot more sense now that he had the full context.
Also, the fact that Anubis called him an Outer made sense as well. After all, he didnât belong anywhere. He existed both everywhere and nowhere.
That didnât mean he was immune to the universal laws back then, though. Now he was.
StillâŠ
Itâs a bit depressing. I thought I knew a lot, and I guess I did. I just didnât really have the full picture any of these times.
And for that, Rael decided not to blame himself too hard.
âAll settled down?â the Supreme Beast asked.
Rael just shrugged.
Seeing that, the Supreme Beast decided to let him in on something a little more personal.
âMy wife was called the Demoness of Despair. She brought other people despair, as you might expect. She wasnât the most powerful, but she was definitely the most beautiful woman Iâd ever seen.â
âSadly⊠while I was out in combat, the Demon Realm was wiped out by the Universal Laws. She was affected as well, since she had been tinkering with the concept of going past your natural limits.â
As he was about to continue, Rael chimed in.
âCanât she still be alive?â
The Supreme Beast narrowed his eyes.
âNo evidence points to her being alive. And if she was, donât you think in all of this time that has passed, she mightâve chimed in and checked how I was doing?â
Rael understood his frustration very well.
However, he also had a certain memory playing in the back of his mind, the same memory that made the most sense in the current context.
The memory of the Demon Realm and how the Eternal Dream viewed it from his perspective.
Powerful demons vanishing one after the other. It was cruel from the outside, since the most common perspective was that the Universal Laws were wiping them out.
âŠBut what if they werenât?
What if instead of being erased, those people were just tossed out of this universe, or rather, this realm?
There were Higher Gods, and those people were very clearly more powerful than any being Rael had seen here. So why werenât they getting deleted? Sure, there were roles that kept certain beingsâ purpose tied to their authority, but that just didnât make enough sense.
If Rael could just manipulate his authority, could he become a Grade 20? Grade 30?
NoâŠ
There must be something else.
And the Supreme Beast saying that he found the path to a higher realm only confirmed Raelâs suspicions.
So with those thoughts in mind, Rael went ahead and quickly relayed every bit of information he had about this topic, making sure not to miss anything.
Once he was finished, it seemed like it was the Supreme Beastâs turn to be conflicted.
âThatâs impossible.â
âIs it really, though?â Rael tilted his head. âThink about it. Why would powerful people be erased? How would that benefit anyone other than the balance scale? It wouldnât, right? Thatâs why those beings are likely elsewhere. Just like this wife of yours, who you think is dead.â
ââŠâ
The Supreme Beast lowered his head slightly.
âIf thatâs the truth, then what have I been doing up until now?â
