Chapter 870: Friendly Encounter

Nearly an hour had passed by now, and of course, when Rael stared at the familiar gladiator arena, as well as the countdown, he was prepared for the knight to reappear.

On the other hand, though, Zafira and Lilith had become slightly more friendly after leaving Reyna and Eris behind. It made him a little worried, especially since these two were at each other’s throats ever since they first met.

Anyhow… women stuff was for women to deal with. Rael was more interested in the knight… not in that way, of course.

And finally, once the countdown finally reached zero, the giant gates opened, and as Rael expected, the knight from before emerged. Except this time, he had a different set of armor. It was completely crimson, and it sure as shit looked more menacing and cool than the last one.

Though, one thing didn’t change, and of course, it was the reaction the knight had upon spotting Rael.

“It’s you…? What are you doing back here?”

“Nothing much. I just need some info,” Rael said, then pointed at all the women around him. “I’ve also brought the cavalry, so don’t try anything funny like last time. The last thing I want is for you to beat me to a pulp and embarrass me right now.”

Of course, Rael felt like that would still happen, but at least now, that bastard would be a lot warier since he’d be scared that Rael would break his armor.

Anyhow…

“What info do you want, exactly? And what info do you think you can get from me?” the knight asked patiently.

But his patience seemed as small as his ego, as Rael managed to bruise it with his next words.

“Can you take us up to the 500th floor? Or rather, give me some tips. I’m chasing after a guy called Lucien, and I’m pretty sure you know where he is.”

“Who do you think you are, exactly? Just because you broke my armor once doesn’t mean I’m suddenly supposed to give you all this information.”

Rael shrugged. “Be that as it may, I can just keep coming back here and break your armor until one of your bosses finally realizes you’re a worthless sack of shit and replaces you. Now let’s talk terms, yeah?”

Rael snapped his fingers, and in the next instant, ten constructs appeared around the knight. As it so happened, every single one of those constructs was holding the One Hit Blade.

That alone caused the knight to stiffen, and despite his wishes, he realized he could just do something else.

And that was to raise his hand and just complete the trial for them, thus sending them up and leaving him be.

Yet before he could even do that, Gaia chimed in. Roots sprouted from the ground and gripped the knight’s arms. Even though he was very strong, and Rael knew that too, that only resulted in him taking less damage. When it came to restrictions, there were obviously ways to overpower him.

And in the same manner, he was currently overpowered by none other than Gaia, who made it so he couldn’t even move a muscle or a single finger. Sure, he could drag the interface to his hands and maybe click it, which was why Gaia went ahead and placed some mittens over his hands, making it impossible for him to actually manually click the button.

He could probably still click it with his mind… but I doubt he’s that big of a pussy,

Rael thought, then said:

“What’s a faster way to climb aside from these boss floors? If there are regular floors and boss floors, there must be a way to climb more floors at a time. What is it? Tell me, and I’ll spare your armor, your life, and more importantly, your dignity.”

Right as he was about to reply, Lilith chimed in:

“You seem like a smart individual, so don’t make a stupid mistake. Also, you seem like someone who would try to use your mind to press the button to escape, which is why I’ve made something a little special for you.”

She snapped her fingers, and in the next instant… nothing happened.

However, for the knight, something did change. In fact, when he glanced at the interface that said he could end the trial, he realized that the buttons were gone.

He tried to manifest those buttons back into existence, yet he realized that he couldn’t. That caused a seed of fear to sprout in his mind, which only continued to grow with every passing moment, making it seem like he didn’t have many choices aside from the one that Rael had provided.

In the end, as a powerful being who managed to climb high… he was now rendered as someone’s lab rat.

“Alright, why don’t we start the stripping,” Rael said after a literal minute of silence, and with the snap of his fingers, directed his constructs to start slashing at the knight’s armor. One by one, pieces of his cool armor began to break, and with every piece broken, Rael would craft another One Hit Blade for his constructs.

It was the ultimate dream team, which Rael couldn’t help but abuse, until eventually, the knight was completely nude.

Thankfully, he had some boxers on, otherwise it would’ve been a little awkward.

“On the bright side, at least you have a six-pack, right?” Rael said. “Though, the downside is that if you don’t start talking, I’m going to slowly start harvesting your organs one by one and feed them to you. Starting from the bottom, all the way to the top.”

At Rael’s saintly words, Zafira coincidentally pulled out a scalpel and approached the knight. When she was behind him, she placed the scalpel at the knight’s neck.

It seemed really innocent at first, until Rael realized that the scalpel had enough mana to put his One Hit Blade to shame.

He was a little puzzled how she got that… unless Eris gave it to her?

Either way…

“Speak, or you’ll suffer dearly.”
