âAre you lot the clean-up crew?â the bald wizard asked. âIf so, there are a few stains on the bottom floor.â
YeahâŠ
This guy was just punking them. He knew very well that they were intruders, and if Rael was sure about one thing, it was the fact that he was most likely calling in some backup.
But it seemed like Rael was wrong, as the man simply stood up and pointed his finger at them. Right as he was about to do something, Gaia raised her hand and suddenly brought down a tree vine from out of nowhere.
The vine traveled so fast that Rael was barely able to react. But by the time the vine reached the wizardâs hand, his hand was already flying in the air, severed from the rest of his wrist.
The wizard wasnât able to react, it seemed like, but in reality, the wizard just raised a brow, snatched his hand out of the air, and then reattached it. Afterwards, he narrowed his eyes at Gaia, then at Rael.
âYouâre the people who were here earlier, right? What exactly are you trying to do here? Run away? Oh? Go back home? Is that all you want? To go back to where you came from?â
He was asking quite a lot of questions, but then again, when he glanced over all the people present, a smirk appeared on his face.
âI see there are eight of you. How about this. Seven of you can go back home, while one has to stay.â
Rael scoffed. âWhy donât you join our party to make it nine people, and then you can stay here? My nameâs Rael. Whatâs yours?â
ââŠâ
âPfft⊠Hahahaha! Leonard. But no, Iâm sorry to tell you that it doesnât work like that. Either follow the rules, or Iâll make you follow them.â
âHmm⊠I think this is the moment where we should probably stop holding back. Rael, would you do the honors?â Nyx chimed in.
Rael simply smiled, then raised a single finger. In the next instant, a thin black orb began to form atop his finger, and from its lack of energy, the wizard wasnât able to tell that it was a literal infinite universe being endlessly compressed.
By the time he realized just what was happening, he cast some kind of powerful wave of mana to be launched right at Rael. However, Gaia, Renoir, and even Nyx stepped in to block it. Obviously, Renoir did so out of instinct, but because he had no idea how to use mana here, Gaia and Nyx pushed him out of the way.
The attack was far more powerful than any of them expected, though, as their flesh was burned and their arms were severed.
Yet that didnât change the fact that they had managed to block that attack, thus giving an opportunity for Zafira and Lilith to counterattack. Rael wasnât expecting much from them, but when they suddenly transformed into different forms, he was left a little speechless.
Zafiraâs hair had turned pitch black, and so had her eyes. Yet the amount of mana she began to emit nearly tripled, if not quadrupled. She was a whole different person, and by default, when she swung her sword down at Leonard, her attack hit harder than anyone mightâve expected.
Yet Lilith wasnât too far behind either, as her transformation made her horns smaller, but in turn, a pitch-black crown appeared atop her head. It seemed like that crown was slowly absorbing all the mana from the surroundings and improving her strength drastically.
At first, Zafira was exponentially stronger than Lilith, but because of how powerful Leonard was, Lilith managed to close the gap between them and actually deal some solid damage.
Considering she had no weapons on hand at the moment, she went in with her fists, pummeling the wizard and hurtling him through the side of the magic tower.
But although both of Raelâs wives were ragdolling this fella, he wasnât weak in the slightest. He raised his hand once more, causing a powerful bolt of lightning to descend from the sky.
Rael didnât think much of it, as it was just lightning. But from his Future Sight, Rael was able to tell that this lightning strike not only disintegrated both Zafira and Lilith, but also destroyed their souls.
So with a slightly startled look, Rael sent his intent to both Gaia and Nyx. The two reacted instantly as they disappeared from their positions, fetched Zafira and Lilith, then reappeared a few feet behind him.
And finally, as Rael stared at Leonard, who was just hovering in the air slightly outside of the magic tower, he didnât hesitate to unleash a powerful attack with his compressed universe. If it was previously around +250% in power, it was at least 50 times that now.
So by default, the moment that black orb left the tip of Raelâs finger, all hell broke loose. The surroundings shifted violently, distorting the magic tower and causing small spatial fissures to appear in the space around them.
Not to mention, despite this attack not being aimed at Rael or any of the other girls⊠and Renoir, they were affected as well. Their blood ran cold, and since Rael didnât have any blood, he just felt a chill run down his spine, which only made him back away further.
But before he could take even a single step backward, Rael caught a glimpse of Leonardâs expression. It was one of profoundness and fear, something Rael didnât quite expect to see from someone so powerful. Yet whatever the case may be, the sheer fact that someone like that was so afraid made Rael realize how little Leonard could do against that attack.
He was right.
The black orb swallowed Leonard up, disintegrating his flesh and dematerializing his body. Just then, the black orb abruptly expanded, increasing to nearly a thousand times its original size.
And while Rael didnât expect something like this to happen, he knew that he mightâve fucked up a little.
