1781 Invading the Clan

Sam just sat there as he heard the plans.

He didn’t expect that there is such an elaborate play going behind the scenes. He knew that things are a bit chaotic, but Shijin actually did something great. He laid out such an elaborate scheme to not only get custody of the child in his own clan and also get into a relationship with another clan that will gain custody.

In a way, he is destroying his own rivals in his clan, establishing himself as the next in line. He is destroying a rival clan and converting another rival clan into a deep ally solidifying the position.

In all the chaos that is going on, he didn’t miss the opportunity.

And Sam is also happened to be great at using circumstances for his own benefit.

Wheels started turning his head as the conversations still went on.

“I don’t know if we can proceed with the attack this night itself. I need to ask my employer and get his opinion.”

The mercenary leader said.

Shijin smiled once again.

“Come on, I highly doubt that talking to a person hidden in the next room is going to be that difficult. You can just talk to him now and give me an answer.

Of course, if he doesn’t feel shy, he can come out and directly talk to me.”

The room went silent for a moment after he spoke.

Sam is surprised.

He knew that there is someone hidden. But he didn’t know that it is the person in charge on the other side. Things are just getting more interesting by every second.

Because of Shijin’s straightforward call out the other party didn’t hide anymore.

“How are you doing Karn?”

Shijin asked with a smile.

“Not too great after my plan is ruined by you.”

“I gave you a much better plan now didn’t I?”

“We can’t be sure of it now, can we? How are you sure that your father will definitely move out of your clan when a Divine Plane cultivator attacks one of your cities?”

“Because this unknown Divine Plane cultivator is going to attack a very particular area of the city. And that area happened to be the place where my father’s love is staying along with their daughter.

She is his true love and he loves that daughter more than his own life. I already have my men acting as my father’s men observing her. They will immediately send a message to my father about the attack. He will definitely move.

He might have not revealed the child because of his responsibilities as the clan head. But he has proven more than once that if the day comes when he has to choose between the clan and the girl, he will choose the latter.

The plan will work a hundred percent.”

Sam looked at Shijin and he is a bit impressed. This is a guy who knows the value of information. He has all the information he needs and he knows how to use it. If Sam is not here as a variable, this is a pretty viable plan.

Karn thought for a moment and decided to go through with it. But he had a condition.

“I want you to draw up a soul contract that you will follow with the plan of helping me get the kid from the Magman clan even if it means you have to wage a war against them.”

“Sure. I hate that clan anyway.”

“And what about the loot from the Magman clan? I am pretty sure, you will not want to end the discussion today without discussing that part.”

“You know me so well Karn, that is one of the reasons that I am surprised, you originally thought of such a stupid plan.”

Shijin chuckled as he took out a document.

Karn’s face turned red as he looked at the document. There is a detailed plan of attack on the Magman clan and there is also a detailed distribution plan of all the resources.

“Come on, this is not a fair deal. You are getting over seventy percent in every part of the plan. You are taking too much.”

“It is more than fair. In half of the resource points and revenue generators of the Magman clan, I am only asking for seventy percent of the wealth accumulated until now, I gave some of the territories to your directly.

Apart from that initial payment, you will have control over revenue for the rest of your life. I didn’t even ask for a share in that.”

“Even then, why would you get such a big initial payment.”

“Because I am fucking strategizing. I am the one creating the plans for this and for that, I have to use all the information that I have gathered until now. Do you know how much I have invested into gathering this intel?”

“Still, you will get fifty-five percent, that is it.”

“Nope. I don’t want any discussion on this. Let’s settle this in an old-fashioned way. Your fighter vs my fighter. If you win, we will go with fifty-five, if I win, we will go with seventy. Deal?”

Karn immediately shook Shijin’s hand.

Shijin then looked at Sam.

“First of the fights that I promised. Don’t disappoint me though.”

Sam nodded and stood.

He walked to the empty area in the front and calmly stared at the people.

The mercenary leader stood up and went to stand in front of Sam.

“You seem new in this area. Are you a merc from outside?”

Sam shook his head.

“I am not a merc. Anyway, let’s get this over with.”

“You are going to regret this fight buddy.”

The mercenary spoke and took out a large saber.

Sam looked at it calmly.

The opponents swung the saber vertically. Sam didn’t even bother to show any moment. But when the saber was about to strike him, he disappeared from the spot. The leader was stunned and before he could realize it, he felt a strong impact on his left ear and he fainted.

After five minutes, the mercenary leader woke up in a daze. He didn’t even understand what is happening.

Sam is back in his seat as he sipped some wine that karn took out.

Karn looked at the mercenary head and said.

“Get up, stop embarrassing me even more. Calling yourself mercenary king and all. What kind of king will get knocked down in one kick?”

Shijin also had a troubled expression on his face.

“Why are you so strong?”

He asked Sam as he looked at him. He thought he would be able to easily satisfy Sam’s condition, but it seems like it would be too difficult.

Sam is also a bit disappointed. There is barely any resistance from the people on the same level here. Even though his cultivation level is the same as that of the merc king, the fight is indeed over in one move. The other party didn’t even anticipate Sam’s move.

He kind of missed the challenge he faced back in hell. Those fights are brutal. Even beasts posed a threat there.

As he is thinking, the discussions were over and the plan proceeded further.

Everything seemed to have been going in one smooth lubricated motion Plans moved faster than they expected and before he knew it, Sam is already in front of the city of Chasin’s clan.

He is ready to enter. The kid is just an hour away from him at the latest.

Shijin looked at Sam and said.

“I know the previous fight isn’t much. But the next one is going to be challenging. The other party you are going to face is a person with half his foot in a Divine plane. He is truly invincible below the Divine Plane.

That is the talk around here. So, it would be a great fight for you.”

“I hope it is not as disappointing.”

Sam said as he looked at the merc king on the side.

Soon, the attacks were made. The forces from the city are moving out to other cities. There is a reason why they are spending so much force to defend these cities. If they are taken by enemies, they will be used as bases of operations to take down Chasin’s clan.

Sam waited and waited for a while before he got his signal. The head of the clan is finally away.

He didn’t waste any time and activated his shadow fusion.

“Meet me at the entrance of the clan.”

He said to the merc king and disappeared.

Within two minutes, Sam is already in front of the gate. He didn’t bother hiding his aura or disguising his face. He boldly enter the clan as if he owned the place and his presence already triggered some response from within the clan.

The guards reported his presence to the authorities and soon the person that Sam is supposed to fight already heard of it.

It is the second in command of the clan and the person Shijin talked about. Sam’s mission now is to fight this guy and defeat him. And Shijin explicitly stated that Sam shouldn’t kill him at any cost. That is one of the reasons Merc king is also here.

It is hard to defeat somebody into submission than kill them. So, he is here to help Sam tame this wild target.
