Though physically draining, it was mentally exhausting too.

“How do you take care of people? This has been going on for two or three days, hasn’t it? The fever keeps coming back, and you didn’t bring them to the hospital sooner. And what about this elderly lady? You don’t feed her at home every day?” A doctor in a white coat rounded on Hu Xibing with harsh words. “The old lady has severe anemia and malnutrition, it’s very serious!”

When the nurses saw her hand, as thin as dry wood, while trying to insert a needle, they were startled.

Chiang Xiao touched her nose and quietly stepped back a bit.

After all, she was still young, so the misunderstanding wouldn’t fall on her, right? Better to let Brother Hu take the fall alone.
