“Don’t cry at me like I’m bullying you.” Chiang Xiao said sarcastically, “You brought the guests, you collected the clothes, you called my uncle; I haven’t wronged you at all. Also, Ye Wanqing, let me tell you seriously, in the future, if someone wants to see me, please don’t bring them to the dorm without my confirmation. And don’t pile things on my bed. Chiang Xiao then turned to Qin Xiaojun and Wang Lili, “Do you guys want to go for a walk? How about we go together?”

“Sure.”

Qin Xiaojun and Wang Lili quickly followed Chiang Xiao out of the dormitory.

In the dormitory, only Ye Wanqing, who was sobbing with her head down, and Xie Landi, who was at a loss, remained.

The death-like silence was too much for Xie Landi. She gently tugged Ye Wanqing’s arm and whispered, “Wanqing, maybe you shouldn’t meet with Boss Deng anymore…”

Even she thought something was off between Deng Qingjiang and Ye Wanqing after hearing what Chiang Xiao had said.

Before she could finish, Ye Wanqing suddenly raised her head, lifted her hand, and slapped her hard across the face.

A sharp smack echoed through the room.

Two girls from the adjacent dorm passed by the door just in time to see this and were stunned.

They didn’t move away immediately and stood at the door watching; Ye Wanqing and Xie Landi didn’t notice them.

Xie Landi, completely shocked by the slap, was bewildered.

“You, why did you hit me?” she stammered.

Ye Wanqing cried out, “It’s all because of you! If you hadn’t been talking nonsense, would Chiang Xiao and the others have thought I had some ambiguous relationship with her uncle?”

“But Boss Deng did give you that dress, and he did invite you to go boating in the park tomorrow! I wasn’t talking nonsense!”

Her face stinging painfully, Xie Landi couldn’t take it either, especially since she felt wronged.

Even though she came from the countryside, she had never been slapped before. What wrong did she do by telling the truth? She felt very aggrieved and said, “Chiang Xiao’s right; her uncle is already married and so much older than you. She’s telling you not to get too close to him for your own good.”

Upon hearing these words, the two girls at the door were utterly stunned.

She was now certain; Xie Landi must be an idiot!

How could anyone think that what Chiang Xiao said was meant for her good? How could it be harsh truth? She and Chiang Xiao simply weren’t meant to get along! They clashed!

Chiang Xiao was surely born to vex her!

If not, her life would be going just fine!

Xie Landi was here to ruin it as well!

The girl at the door nudged her classmate’s arm, signaling her to leave quickly to avoid being caught.
